Abstract

The development of activities on Jalan Alianyang, Kota Pontianak causes problems, namely the decrease in mobility on the road. This is due to the unavailability of a separateparking area for each of the facilities mentioned above, so parking is carried out using theroad. This causes a reduction in road capasity and causes a decrease in speed for passingvehicles. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of parking on JalanAlianyang Pontianak in the form of available parking spaces, and the parkingcharacteristics of vehicle owners, to determine the magnitude of side friction due to onstreet parking, getting a road performance value by considering on street parking. Themethod used is based on MKJI (1997) and the Technical Guidelines of the DirectorateGeneral of Land Transportation (1998). Data collection in this study includes primary dataobtained from survey research in the field which includes geometric data on JalanAlianyang, traffic volume data, vehicle speed data, side friction data, and patrol parkingdata. The secondary data was obtained from the Mayor's Decree on Pontianak City Roadon Parking in Kota Pontianak and data from the Pontianak City Population and CivilRegistration Agency. The study was conducted for 4 days on June 24 to 27, 2022 on theJalan Alianyang segment between Jalan Pangeran Natakusuma and Jalan Suwignyo from06.00 to 21.00 WIB. From the results of the analysis can be concluded that the highestaccumulation of hourly parking on weekdays 45 motorcycles and 30 cars, on weekends40 motorcycles and 12 cars. The largest parking volume on weekdays is 1043 vehicles, onweekends is 780 vehicles. The highest average parking index along 200 m is 80% whichmeans that not all road segments are used as parking lots. The performance of road sectionswithout on street parking shows a level of service C and a degree of saturation of 0.45.Meanwhile, with the influence of on street parking with a level of service F and a degreeof saturation of 1.01. Based on parking needs, it can be considered using one side of theroad with good parking management so that parking and mobility needs can be balanced.

Abstract

Accidents are often caused by poor road equipment, such as damaged signs and markings, poor road conditions, and substandard road geometry. This study aims to identify traffic accident characteristics, determine accident-prone areas, and recommend safety improvements along the Jalan Alianyang-Jalan Pangeran Natakusuma-Jalan Danau Sentarum corridor in Pontianak. It utilizes secondary data from the Pontianak Police (2018-2023) and primary data from field surveys. Accident characteristics were analyzed to calculate accident-prone areas (black sites) using the Equivalent Accident Number (EAN) and Upper Control Limit (UCL) methods. The study found a black site in Segment 5 (intersection of Jalan Dr. Sutomo and Jalan Pak Benceng) with an EAN value of 66, exceeding the UCL of 62. Minor injuries were the most common, with 52 victims, and accidents frequently occurred on Saturdays, especially between 12:00-17:59. Most accidents involved males (29 people), with front-side collisions being the most common type (9 events). Recommendations include installing crossing warning signs and maintaining road markings. Keywords: Accident-Prone Area, Black site, Equivalent Accident Number, Upper Control Limit. Poor Road Condition

Abstract

This study aims to review the impact of overload vehicle overload, vehicle damage capacity (VDF) on flexible pavement and decrease the service life of flexible pavement on Jalan Khatulistiwa. The method used is to analyze the service life of pavement based on the cumulative ESAL results for each change in load weight. The survey was conducted on Jalan Khatulistiwa in 2022. The data on vehicle weighing results was obtained from UPPKB Siantan using data in 2021. LHR data was obtained from the Pontianak P2JN office in 2020 and 2021. The study was carried out using the 1993 AASHTO method and the 2017 Highways. From the calculation results in the 20th year, the W18 value for the plan is 96,974,719.09 ESAL and the W18 overload in the 20th year is 110,929,554.2 ESAL. The increase in the value of W18 resulted in a decrease in the service life in the 19th year, namely the Ri value of -1.341% and in the 20th year the value of Ri was -14.390% whereas under normal conditions the value of Ri in the 20th year was 0%.  Meanwhile, the remaining life of the plan caused by the addition of a 5% simulation load is the remaining 18,556 years and 100% of the remaining plan life is 9,297 years.

Abstract

The runway is one component in the airport system, its performance greatly affectsall airport operational activities. Anticipating the increase in services from thecapacity of the number of passengers, it is necessary to build a new runway. In thisstudy, analyze the forecast of the number of movements with the trend analysismethod and the percent forecast method from PT. Angkasa Pura II, field subgradeCBR, new runway capacity and planning year, and new runway pavement using theFederal Aviation Administration (FAA) method and FAARFIELD 1.42 software.Based on the analysis results, the field subgrade CBR was 0.38% 3%, then it wasstabilized using selected soil (CBR 20.523%) with a thickness of 60 cm. The forecastresults with both methods show that the trend analysis method is used because thetime is earlier than other methods, namely in 2027 with the existing runway capacityat Supadio International Airport of 54 operations/hour with a maximum capacity of51 operations/hour. The results of the runway flexible pavement thickness using theFAA method manually obtained a total pavement thickness of 42” (107 cm), whichconsists of 4”(10 cm) Surface Course, 12”(31 cm) Base Course, and 26”(66 cm)Subbase Course, while the FAARFIELD 1.42 software has a total pavementthickness of 30.43”(77 cm), which consists of 4”(10 cm) Surface Course, 5” (13 cm)Base Course, and 21.43”(54 cm) Subbase Courses.

Abstract

Road is critical part in transportation system. The existence of road can provide convenient and safe passage for various types of vehicles, including cars, buses, motorcycles and bicycles. The use of road can give impact like performance degradation over time, so there has to be some examinations for road performance. Based on aforementioned fact, this research will conduct road performance analysis using MKJI 1997 and PKJI 2023 method. The degree of saturation and road capacity are the comparison parameter for assessment. The objective of this research will compare the results from both method. Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani will be the research object. On this road, all requirement data was collected to accommodate the analysis. The data collected was employed to calculate road performance for existing condition. From data of existing condition, Both method was implemented for 5-year projection. The projection was conducted to predict road performance considering the increase of population. The results from both method showed that the existing condition and 5-year projection were not qualified, because the level of service was very low. PKJI 2023 method resulted the higher number than MKJI 1997. This is because the parameter value from both method was stated differently. Considering bad performance of the road, the improvement step was taken to increase all parameters involved in the road performance. The improvement, Like enhancement on road geometric, effectively worked to increase the road performance.
