Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar siswa melalui metode Learning Start With A Question (LSQ). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan one group pretest posttest design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling, yang kemudian diperoleh kelas XI MIA 2.1 sebagai sampel. Peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif diketahui dari nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttes siswa, sedangkan peningkatan minat diketahui dari skor rata-rata angket yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran. Uji yang digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan minat dan hasil belajar siswa adalah uji gain. Analisis uji gain terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa diperoleh peningkatan (g) sebesar 0,455 dan minat siswa terjadi peningkatan (g) sebesar 0,24. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran Learning Start With A Question dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar fisika.This study aims increase student interest and student learning outcomes through learning methods Start With A Question (LSQ). This research is an experimental study with one group pretest posttest design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique, which then obtained MIA XI 2.1 as a sample. Improved cognitive learning outcomes in mind of the average value of pretest and posttes students, while increasing interest in mind of the average score given questionnaires before and after learning. Test used to determine the increase in interest and student learning outcomes is the gain test. Gain test analysis of the results obtained by an increase in students' cognitive learning (g) of 0.455 and an increase in student interest (g) of 0.24. Based on the analysis it can be concluded that the teaching methods Learning Start With A Question can be used to increase the interest and learning outcomes physics

Abstract

Pelajaran Fisika merupakan pelajaran yang memerlukan pengertian dan pemahaman mengenai konsep-konsep fisika tersebut. Peneliti menerapkan media Physicusic dalam model pembelajaran Examples Non Example dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan minat belajar siswa dan  pemahaman konsep fisika pada bab hukum Newton. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran, kelas VIII I sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan VIII H sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen dalam penelitian terdiri atas instrumen tes tertulis berbentuk uraian dan lembar angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan minat dari 45,39%  menjadi 90,03% yang berarti media dan model pembelajaran tersebut dapat menumbuhkan minat, sedangkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol (0,50 > 0,36).  Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran fisika dengan media Physicusic dalam model pembelajaran Examples Non Examples dapat meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman konsep (secara kuantitatif) fisika  pada siswa SMP kelas VIII pada bab hukum Newton.  Physics lesson is a lesson that requires insight and understanding of the physics concepts. Researchers applying Physicusic media in Examples Non Example learning model in order to determine changes in student interest and understanding of the physics concept in the Newton's laws chapter. This study was an experimental study. The sample in this study were students of SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran, class VIII I as an experimental group and a control group is class  VIII H. Research instrument consists of a written test instruments and questionnaire. The results showed that an increase in interest from 45.39% to 90.03% which means that the media and the learning models can foster interest, while the increase in students' understanding of the concept of the experimental class is higher than the control class (0.50> 0.36). Based on these results it can be concluded that learning physics with Physicusic media in Non Examples Examples learning model to foster interest and enhance understanding of physics(quantitatively ) concepts in junior high school students of class VIII in Newton's laws chapter.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan pendidikan karakter siswa SMP. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Kajen. Dengan teknik simpel random sampling diperoleh dua kelas sampel yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray, dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol yang diterapkan model konvensional. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, angket, dan tes. Variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar IPA fisika dan pendidikan karakter siswa, sedangkan variabel bebasnya adalah model pembelajaran. Hasil analisis uji t pihak kanan menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil uji proposi pihak kiri ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal paling besar ada di kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 93,75%. Hasil uji gain menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,50. Hasil angket dan observasi menunjukkan peningkatan pendidikan karakter kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan pendidikan karakter siswa SMP.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are the ability possessed wich are knowledge, attitude, and skills. The learning model of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) involves students in activities that relate academic lessons to the context of life. The learning model of Group Investigation (GI) trains students to participate in social systems. This study aims to find out which between the learning model of CTL and learning model of GI that the results of learning are better. The population is the students of class VIII SMP Islam YPI Buaran Pekalongan. The sample used is VIII A as CTL class and VIII B as GI class. The data were collected by using the test to obtain the students' learning result of the cognitive domain, the questionnaire was used to obtain the affective domain learning result, and the observation sheet was used to obtain the psychomotor domain learning result. The learning outcomes of the CTL class students were lower than that of the GI class indicated by the results of the t-test polled variance test. Based on these results it can be concluded that the GI learning model is better than the CTL learning model.

Abstract

Calorific values were measured by bomb calorimeter on combustion in oxygen atmosphere. Bomb Calorimeter has been produced and researched in the world, because of its benefits on science. Parr Instrument Company is a company located in the USA which produced bomb calorimeter. In contrast to Indonesia, which has not research about it. This research aim to test for validity the bomb calorimeter that build before, and then applying to physics laboratory assistant’s students at university.  The bomb was completed by manual instruction, which tested for validity with the bomb. The methods was Research and Development (RnD) 4-D models that popularizes by Thiagarajan, which consists of four step: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The result of validity tools and manuals categorized as very decent, and applying this tool have very high response for students.

Abstract

Physics is a study of natural phenomena and its interactions. In learning physics, it is necessary to practice the concepts of physics in everyday life. However, physics is still considered as a difficult subject by most of the students. It leads to the low outcomes of students' cognitive learning outcomes. Learning model and teaching materials are needed, so that it will be easier for students to understand a lesson. In this study, the researcher used 7E Learning Cycle model with handouts. This study intended to determine the effects of handout as a learning media in 7E Learning Cycle model to improve the learning outcomes of VII Grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Demak on the lesson of measurement. The research method used in this research was experimental research method with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design as the research design. The sample of this study was taken by cluster random sampling technique. It obtained research samples which were class VII D as the experimental class, and class VII A as the control class. Based on the result of the study, it obtained the average value of posttest of the experimental class was 73.50, and the control class was 58.31. The hypothesis testing by using point-biserial correlation coefficient and the coefficient of determination showed that handout as the learning media in 7E Learning Cycle model had a positive effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The improvement of student learning outcomes was indicated by the N-Gain test value of the experimental class of 0.26, and the control class of 0.10 with the low category. In conclusion, handout as the learning media in the 7E Learning Cycle model influences and improves student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The importance of developing students' thinking skills is contained in Permendiknas Number 22 of 2006 concerning standard content. It states that science and technology subjects have the aim of obtaining the basic competencies in science and technology and cultivating critical, creative, and independent thinking. This study intended to determine the effectiveness of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) combined with the Group Investigation model and Problem Based Learning model on students' creative thinking skills. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Kemranjen. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design with an equivalent control group design. The sample in this study was taken by random sampling technique, obtained research samples namely class VIII F as the experimental class and class VIII D as the control class. The method of data collection consisted of documentation and tests. The results of data analysis showed that the mixed learning model of Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition with Group Investigation was effective in improving students' creative thinking. The Problem Based Learning model was also effective in improving students' creative thinking skill with a gain of 0.52 from a maximum score of 1. It was included in the medium criteria. In conclusion, the mixed of Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition and Group Investigation learning model was more effective than Problem Based Learning model in developing students' creative thinking.

Abstract

This research aims to know the students ' creativity and factors influencing creativity. The data used in this study that is the result of a creative product evaluation form design and interview. Data analysis techniques used to use a descriptive quantitative analysis approach. The results of data analysis it was concluded that the creativity of the students in physics are divided into three categories, namely high, medium, low details: creativity category "high" with a percentage of 70.34%, the category of "medium" has a percentage of 66.12% and category low percentage of 62.58%. The creativity of the students in physics belongs to the category of "medium" with a percentage score an average of 66.61%. Factors that influence students creativity in physics that is intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, where the students tend to have more intrinsic motivation extrinsic motivation compared with the dominant percentage: intrinsic motivation 50.56%, extrinsic motivation 49.44%.

Abstract

The result of initial observation conducted in MAN 2 Boyolali showed that the students? learning outcomes on physics subject was still low, so another learning model and strategy are needed, one of them is by innovative cooperation to improve the students? learning result. Therefore, a learning model of Problem Based Learning is applied using Pair Checks strategy which has big possibility to improve the students? learning outcomes. This study aims at analyzing the improvement of the students? cognitive learning outcomes after using Problem Based Learning model with Pair Checks strategy. The study was a quantitative research with experiment method. The population were the students of X IPA MAN 2 Boyolali, the samples were conducted using simple random sampling, with the students from X IPA 1 as the experiment group and the students from X IPA 2 as the control group. The method of data collection were test, observation, and questionnaire. The result shows that the improvement of the students? cognitive learning outcomes was earned N-gain value from experiment group is 0.59, which belongs to middle criterion, while the control group is 0.29, which belongs to low criterion. The average achievement of affective learning outcomes on the experiment group reachs 75%, which belongs to good criterion, while the control group reachs 59%, which belongs to good enough criterion. The average achievement of psychomotor learning outcomes on the experiment group reachs 74%, which belongs to good criterion, while the control group reachs 55%, which belongs to less good criterion. The analysis result shows that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model using Pair Checks strategy obtains a good response with percentage of 71%.  It can be concluded that the students? cognitive learning result gets significant improvement after applying the learning model of Problem Based Learning using Pair Checks strategy.

Abstract

Munculnya Permendiknas No. 22 tahun 2006 yang menyatakan bahwa substansi mata pelajaran IPA pada SMP/MTs merupakan IPA Terpadu perlu dukungan dengan adanya bahan ajar terpadu. Telah dilakukan pengembangan modul IPA Terpadu bermuatan mind mapping pada tema cahaya dan penglihatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul IPA Terpadu dan mengetahui kelayakannya sebagai bahan ajar.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan 2 tahap uji coba, yaitu uji keterbacaan modul dan uji coba pemakaian modul. Uji keterbacaan modul dilakukan oleh 8 siswa kelas IX dan 3 orang guru IPA, sedangkan uji coba pemakaian modul dilakukan di kelas VIII F. Hasil kelayakan modul diperoleh dari validasi ahli mencapai >80%,  hasil tanggapan guru sebesar 93,34%, hasil uji keterbacaan modul mencapai skor 92,5%, hasil tanggapan siswa sebesar 93,6% pada uji coba pemakaian modul, serta hasil belajar siswa dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 94,4%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul IPA Terpadu bermuatan mind mapping pada tema cahaya dan penglihatan telah memenuhi syarat kelayakan bahan ajar. Disarankan untuk mengembangkan modul mind mapping pada materi yang berbeda dengankegiatan belajar yang lebih menyenangkan.  Permendiknas No. 22of 2006 states that thesubstance ofteaching integrated science for Junior High School needs asupportof providing an integrated teaching materials. Based on that background the development of integrated science modul with mind mapping approach has been done. The research objective is to develop an Integrated Science modul and determineits feasibilityas a teaching material. This research used the Research and Development design with 2 phases. They are readability test and application test. Readability test was carried outfor 8 students of IX grade and 3 science teachers, while theapplication wascarried outfor students of  VIIIF.Feasibility result sobtained from expert validation modul reached >80%, the results ofthe teachers responsewas93.34%, the results of student responses were 92.5% while in readability testand93.6% in application test. The students also achieved classical completeness of 94.4%. Based on the results aboveit can be concludedthat the Integrated Science modul withmind mapping approach “lightandvision”, theme is eligible to be used as teaching material. It can be recommended to develop a mind mapping modul in a different material with more interesting activity.Â
