Abstract

The background of this research is the importance of developing the socio-emotional aspects of early childhood and the development of early childhood learning programs to facilitate child development. The purpose of this study is to describe the basic needs of the importance of social emotional development of children through the design of activities in learning that can facilitate it. In this study, finger painting was chosen as one of the activities to facilitate the social and emotional development of early childhood. Overall this research uses the Educational Design Research (EDR) research method from Mc Kenny Reaves (2012) which includes research steps including: 1) Analysis and exploration; 2) Design and Construction; and 3) Evaluation and Reflection. But, in this article the researcher only presents the results of the research in stage 1, the analysis and exploration stage. The subjects of this study were the teachers and children of group B at SPS TAAM Nurul Amin. Data collection techniques used are literature studies and interviews. The results of the research in stage 1 is social emotional development is very important in the child's learning process so it is necessary to develop a learning activity program to facilitate it. Meanwhile, it was found that the development of learning programs through visual arts activities in schools was still lacking in variety, finger painting was rarely carried out due to media limitations and teacher unpreparedness, and finger painting activities using the group method had never been carried out in schools. Based on the description of this needs analysis, the researcher developed a finger painting activity design using the group method to facilitate the socio-emotional development of early childhood. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pengembangan aspek sosial emosional anak usia dini dan pengembangan program pembelajaran PAUD untuk memfasilitasi perkembangan anak. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan dasar kebutuhan pentingnya pengembangan sosial emosional anak melalui rancangan aktivitas dalam pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasinya. Dalam penelitian ini Finger painting dipilih sebagai salah satu aktivitas untuk memfasilitasi perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini. Secara keseluruhan penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Educational Design Research (EDR) dari Mc Kenny Reaves (2012) yang meliputi langkah-langkah penelitian diantaranya: 1) Analisis dan eksplorasi; 2) Desain dan Konstruksi; serta 3) Evaluasi dan Refleksi. Namun dalam artikel ini peneliti hanya menyajikan hasil penelitian pada tahap 1 yaitu tahap analisis dan eksplorasi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu guru dan anak kelompok B di SPS TAAM Nurul Amin. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian pada tahap 1 yaitu perkembangan sosial emosional sangat penting dalam proses belajar anak sehingga perlu adanya pengembangan program aktivitas pembelajaran untuk memfasilitasinya. Sementara itu, ditemukan bahwa pengembangan program pembelajaran melalui aktivitas seni rupa di sekolah masih kurang beragam, finger painting jarang dilaksanakan karena keterbatasan media dan ketidaksiapan guru, dan aktivitas finger painting dengan metode kelompok juga belum pernah dilaksanakan di sekolah. Berdasarkan deskripsi analisis kebutuhan ini, peneliti mengembangkan rancangan aktivitas finger painting dengan metode kelompok untuk memfasilitasi perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini.
