Abstract

Development Technology of communication give us the chance and space to do access information based on digital aspect. Each the user of social media gets a high freedom to express themself, learn many thing, dan do interaction with each other. Otherwise, there are so many the user of media social do not realize that the all everything they have done in digital space will recording by the system and can’t do deleting process. Besides that, there is no technology equipment able to delete our activities in digital space. This is one of the big problem for the user when do the negative activities in digital space, especially for student. Objective of this research is to analyze how about their activities when using media social. Method of collecting the data by google form for 1000 student SMA in Padang City. Informant of research is student in Padang city and method analyze is qualitative method. The result by google form application explain that 60 percentage the user involved with online game, 20 % related with download pornography content and 20 percentage come from bully activities. The solution of this problem is the family institution must be able to control their children when they use social media. Besides that, parent able to be a good rule model doing ethics digital using social media for all the member of family institution

Abstract

Kehadiran internet memberikan alternatif bagi setiap individu untuk mencari pasangan hidup (jodoh) tanpa harus bertatap muka. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pergeseran makna yang terjadi dalam proses ta’aruf yang dijalani oleh pria dan wanita yang sudah menikah serta individu yang sedang menjalani ta’aruf. Penelitian kualitatif ini fokus untuk menggali tahapan hubungan komunikasi interpersonal dalam proses ta’aruf melalui analisis data Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Informan penelitian ini terdiri dari tujuh orang, yaitu tiga pasangan yang sudah menikah melalui proses ta’aruf dan satu orang yang sedang menjalani proses ta’aruf di Kota Padang. Informan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa tahapan dalam proses ta'aruf klasik, antara lain perkenalan, konfirmasi, penjajakan, pertemuan keluarga dan menetapkan hari pernikahan. Tahapan ta'aruf klasik ini bertransformasi dikarenakan konsekuensi teknologi komunikasi. Ta’aruf sudah bisa dilakukan melalui teman, orang tua, saudara maupun media sosial. Ta'aruf online membuat terjadinya pergeseran makna ta'aruf, di mana kesakralan sebuah proses ta’aruf sudah diartikan berbeda walaupun esensinya sama. Saat ini, keseriusan individu dalam menjalani ta’aruf tidak murni karena Allah, melainkan menjadi lifestyle dan sudah menjadi konsumsi publik bahkan kamuflase. The presence of the internet provides an alternative for each individual to find a life partner (mate) without having to meet face to face. This study aims to analyze the shifting of meaning  in the ta'aruf process carried out by married couples and individuals undergoing ta'aruf. This qualitative research focused on exploring the stages of interpersonal communication in ta'aruf using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The informants of this study consisted of seven people, of which three couples were married through the ta'aruf process and one person who was undergoing the ta'aruf process in Padang. Informants were selected by the purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicated that the stages in the classical ta'aruf process includes an introduction, confirmation, exploration, family gatherings, and setting a wedding day. This classical ta'aruf stage transforms due to the impact of communication technology. Ta'aruf can be done through friends, parents, siblings, and social media. Online ta'aruf makes a shift in the meaning of ta'aruf, where the sacredness of a ta'aruf process has been interpreted differently, although the essence stays the same. At present, the seriousness of individuals in carrying out ta'aruf is not purely due to Allah, but ta’aruf has become a lifestyle, public consumption, and even camouflage.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effectiveness social media platforms campaigning COVID-19 vaccination program in West Sumatra. This result provides new suggestions to interest actors to emphasize the dissemination of information through one of their social media. Measuring the effectiveness of communication is carried out by the recipient of the message, the source of the message, and the content of the message. Mixed methods research with the help of NVIVO 12+ analysis was conducted to give actual results. Sources of data obtained from community activities using Facebook and Twitter. The study's results showed a significant difference in the age of users on Facebook and Twitter; Facebook users were dominated by users less than 18 years and more than 50 years which affected the message delivery and message content for the vaccine campaign. Information changes often occur on Facebook because many users change information and make requests not to vaccinate. This call was also followed by bad news which assumed that vaccination would have a bad impact in the long term. Twitter users are more open and understand the information that circulates on social media, thus there are less opportunities to change information and spread falsehoods. Twitter users' favorable attitudes and actions when communicating on social media demonstrate that information distribution is more about a sense of security and comfort. The two platforms have been the most popular tools for public evaluation since individuals use social media more than they do traditional kinds of media.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Urban lifestyle relates to the way of life in densely populated settlements and living conditions in the city. Despite differences in size, spatial structure, and social, cultural, and economic characteristics, urban communities consciously form a unity influenced by pressure and the surrounding environment. This study aims to elaborate on the pattern of urban life created using social media and its impact on quality of life (QoL), as well as the factors that influence the use of social media. This study employs a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The research data is processed using the NVivo 12+ software tool to examine the lifestyle patterns of urban communities in Padang City, specifically emphasizing their utilization of social media platforms. The findings show that social media has a significant impact on shaping consumption patterns and lifestyle trends. People are exposed to social media content that influences their shopping habits, fashion, and leisure activities. However, norms, identity, and social interaction dominate in shaping lifestyle patterns and people's quality of life. The effect of social media on social interaction is not statistically significant. Thus, while social media significantly impacts urban lifestyles, other factors still play a dominant role in shaping lifestyle patterns and quality of life. In the face of social media influence, individuals in Padang City can maintain a balance and maintain their values and needs. ABSTRAK Gaya hidup perkotaan berkaitan dengan cara hidup di pemukiman padat penduduk dan kondisi kehidupan di kota. Terlepas dari perbedaan ukuran, struktur spasial, dan karakteristik sosial, budaya, dan ekonomi, masyarakat urban secara sadar membentuk satu kesatuan yang dipengaruhi oleh tekanan dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi pola kehidupan masyarakat urban yang tercipta melalui media sosial dan dampaknya terhadap kualitas hidup (quality of life/QoL), serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran, menggabungkan metodologi kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data penelitian diolah dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak NVivo 12+ untuk melihat pola gaya hidup masyarakat urban di Kota Padang, khususnya dalam hal pemanfaatan platform media sosial. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam membentuk pola konsumsi dan tren gaya hidup. Masyarakat terpapar dengan konten media sosial yang memengaruhi kebiasaan belanja, fesyen, dan aktivitas rekreasi mereka. Namun, norma, identitas, dan interaksi sosial lebih mendominasi dalam membentuk pola gaya hidup dan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Pengaruh media sosial terhadap interaksi sosial tidak signifikan secara statistik. Dengan demikian, meskipun media sosial secara signifikan mempengaruhi gaya hidup masyarakat perkotaan, faktor-faktor lain masih memainkan peran dominan dalam membentuk pola gaya hidup dan kualitas hidup. Dalam menghadapi pengaruh media sosial, individu-individu di Kota Padang dapat menjaga keseimbangan dan mempertahankan nilai-nilai dan kebutuhan mereka.

Abstract

Muzmatch.com is one of the modern applications for Muslims around the world. The presence of this application is a new alternative for finding a life partner (mate). A modern application that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and no longer recognizes distance, space, and time. Muzmatch.com connects couples between countries which makes cross-border marriages so common today. The application system that has started to apply artificial technological sophistication allows couples to have direct communication access without any intermediaries. This shift is a consequence of communication technology where with the presence of the internet, each individual can find a partner through the virtual world. Research with qualitative methods using a phenomenological approach is more focused on exploring the experiences of informants who use the Muzmatch.com application and the role of the Muzmatch.com application system. This study aims to analyze the ta'aruf process through the Muzmatch.com application and the role of the systemized features in the Muzmatch.com application. The informants of this study consisted of two people who used the online application Muzmatch.com, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique, especially in the city of Padang. The results of this study showed that the stages that were passed by the informants who used the muzmatch.com application, among others: register (register), swipe up, automatically saved data, chat via messenger.
