Abstract

Violence always creates victims. In cases of domestic violence, as in this study, the victims are those who are considered inferior, namely women and children. Victims experience various forms of violence, such as physical, psychological, and social violence from their surroundings. Wounded and traumatic experiences become a kind of walled-in space, which for victims can protect them from experiences of violence, but at the same time unconsciously it becomes a prison that confines freedom and opportunities to achieve happiness and recovery in life. This research offers a theological perspective on forgiveness for the recovery of victims of domestic violence. Using qualitative research methods, data were collected and analyzed through field research, in-depth interviews, and literature analysis related to the theology of forgiveness in the Christian tradition. This research came to the conclusion that violence always leaves wounds and trauma for its victims. The theology of forgiveness reconstructs closed spaces in traumatic experiences into open spaces to welcome the restoration of life for victims. From the perspective of Christian theology, the God who is trusted is a God who remembers, forgives, and delivers.

Abstract

Abstract. Segregation that is getting harder in society is the reality in this country. The family as the smallest unit deserves to get attention to reject segregation and build a peaceful relationship. The role of parents in choosing their children's school is the starting point of this paper to build a positive response in the context of diversity in this country. The information obtained in the research was examined using the Tripolar Typology, introduced by Alan Race, which will also be discussed with other research results and thoughts. This study concluded that the need to develop a theology of religions that goes beyond exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism is an urgent need today. Hospitality paves the way for strangers, even enemies, to become friends.

Abstract

Abstract

The historical memory of the G30s/PKI creates collective social trauma and revives feelings of hatred and revenge towards the G30s/PKI perpetrators. The families of the perpetrators experienced bad stigma and discrimination, resulting in a burden and historical trauma. This article aims to examine the process of recovering from the historical burdens and trauma experienced by the families of the perpetrators. We offer the concept of the church as a mother who embraces and heals the trauma of the families of G30s/PKI perpetrators. This article uses qualitative methods with a historical analysis and trauma recovery approach, which uncovers and recovers the traumatic history of the families of the G30s/PKI perpetrators. This research found that the trauma healing process is carried out through three stages, namely stabilizing safety, remembering and mourning, and reconnection. The ecclesiology of the church as a mother emphasizes the presence of the church to hear the voices of pain, and accept, guide, and protect the families of G30s/PKI perpetrators like a mother embracing her children. We discuss these findings in three main parts, namely the stages of trauma recovery, the ecclesiology of the church as mother according to John Calvin, and the role of maternal ecclesiology, which embraces the perpetrator's family in the experience of discrimination and historical trauma.
