Abstract

Nowadays, obesity is an endemic health problem almost all countries in the world are facing. Obesity itself is not a contagious disease and it actually can be avoided. Obesity happens because there is an abnormal fats accumulation and this abnormality can bring various negative effects for the body and its health. Waist Hip Ration (WHR) method can be used to decide whether or not a person has obesity, especially central obesity. This research aims to find out the prevalence of obesity using WHR method on the students of Medical Education Program in Medical Faculty of Udayana University (PSPD FK Unud) class of 2014. This research is a descriptive research with cross sectional research design. This research was done to 217 students, 77 male students (35,5%) and 140 female students (64,5%). The obesity was measured by measuring waist size and hip circumference, the ratio then will be determined by dividing waist size with hip circumference. Normally, WHR on men is <0,9 and <0,8 on women. The result of this research reveals that 58 students (26,7%), consisting of 27 male students (12,5%) and 31 female students (14,5%) have central obesity.

Abstract

Background: Aging changes are shown from the sub-atomic to the organismic level; ecological variables influence trial perceptions; optional impacts convolute clarification of essential systems; and correctly characterized, effectively quantifiable biomarkers are inadequate. Nobody bringing together hypothesis may exist, since the components of aging could be very distinct in various living beings, tissues, and cells. Method: This is a descriptive-observational study, which is aimed to evaluate the influence of aging on sexual desire in a male. The target population of this study is the men aged 50 years old and older in Lapangan Puputan Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar Selatan, Bali from April 2018 to mei 2018 were involved in this research. Abstract

Background: Cardiovascular fitness is defined as the ability of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels to provide oxygen for muscle work during rhythmic and continuous activities. An increase in body mass index (BMI) is a major risk factor for a decrease in cardiovascular fitness. According to the 2013 Basic Health Research (Rikesdas) data, the prevalence of obesity in Indonesia is increasing in adults (≥18 years), especially in women. Method: The design of this study was analytic observational with the cross sectional approach. The sample consisted of 84 female students of Medical Education Study Program in Medical Faculty of Udayana University, aged 18-21 years old, calculated by the formula for correlation test. The samples were collected by a simple random sampling method. The height of each sample was measured by microtoise, the body weight was measured by manual weighing scales, while the Harvard step test measured cardiovascular fitness. The relationship between BMI and cardiovascular fitness level was analyzed by hypothesis test and Spearman correlation test. Results: While 33.33% of respondents in this study fell into the obesity group (BMI ≥ 23 kg / m2) and 55.95% were included in weak cardiovascular fitness category (Harvard score <83). The results of the Spearman correlation test showed a p-value of ≤ 0.05 and r = -0.444 which presented a moderate and significant negative relationship between BMI and cardiovascular fitness. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between BMI and cardiovascular fitness among female students of Medical Education Study Program in Medical Faculty of Udayana University aged 18-21 years old, in which with increasing BMI value there’s a decrease of cardiovascular fitness.

Primary dysmenorrhea is defined as a painful sensation during menstruation that is not associated with gynecological disorders or without the discovery of a pathological condition in the pelvis. Primary dysmenorrhea is the most common type of menstrual pain, which is experienced by more than 50% of women, so effective prevention with minimal side effects is needed, such as improvement in exercise habits. This study aims to determine the relationship between exercise habits with primary dysmenorrhea in female students of the Faculty of Medicine Unud academic year 2017. The type of research used is observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The research subjects were 96 students from the Faculty of Medicine Unud academic year 2017. The research data were primary data in the form of questionnaires. Of the 96 samples examined, most of the students experienced primary dysmenorrhea with a proportion of primary dysmenorrhea is 86.5% and respondent with routine exercise habits less than respondent whose exercise habits were not routine with a proportion of 12.5% and 87.5% each. Students with regular exercise habits found a higher proportion of primary dysmenorrhea, 75% compared to 25% without primary dysmenorrhea. Based on the results of the chi-square test showed that there was no significant relationship between exercise habits with primary dysmenorrhea in Pre-Clinical Students of Medical Education Program Faculty of Medicine Udayana University Academic Year 2017 with p-value = 0.215.
