Abstract

The TRIP’S Agreement confirms that Member States may exclude certain types of inventions from patentability and may refuse to grant patents on methodological inventions used on humans, including the granting of patents on inventions in the field of biotechnology applied to humans. Indonesia regulates patent protection for biotechnology in the Patent Law, which emphasizes that patents cannot be granted for inventions of biotechnological processes applied to humans. However, with the development of technology, the use of inventions in the field of biotechnology applied to human genes is considered to have great benefits for mankind. Therefore, this research that uses doctrinal-normative methodology through a statute approach will discuss how the TRIP’s Agreement and the Patent Law in Indonesia regulate patents on biotechnology products applied to human genes and the urgency of granting patent protection to biotechnology inventions applied to humans so that it can be known that granting patents to biotechnology inventions applied to humans is prohibited by Indonesian law but given freedom under international law and further research and comprehensive studies need to be done to deal with future trade liberalization flows.

Abstract

The low level of student activity in their numeracy skills is a problem in the Mathematics learning process. Research conducted at SDN Jajar Tunggal III/452 Surabaya showed the results that interactive media in learning was very influential in the students' learning process. The use of Puzzle Math interactive media aims to increase the activity of class 1 students who are in the transition phase from PAUD to play while playing. The data collection technique uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which is carried out in 2 cycles, from the results of observations, written tests and student activity during the learning process.

Abstract

The Suez Canal is one of the most important artificial waterways for international trade by sea. The blockage of the Suez Canal in 2021 due to the shipwreck of the Ever Given dealt a heavy blow to the global economy. This study examines the legal status of the Suez Canal and the responsibility of the Suez Canal Authority for the blocking of the Suez Canal so that if there will a similar event in the future, this research can be used as legal reference. This thesis is a doctrinal research with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. According to the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982, the legal status of the Suez Canal is inland waters. This status was followed by the function of the Suez Canal as an international waterways. The obligation of the Suez Canal Authority to navigate the Suez Canal is demonstrated by the implementation of the pilotage activities assigned to the Ever Given on the day the Suez Canal was blocked. Guidance by the pilot is the responsibility of the captain of the ship because he acts in the interests of the ship
