Abstract

Many children who have not been able to master basic English vocabulary such as various colors, animals, fruits, and the alphabet Learning English must be done from an early age, one of the media that can be used to learn English is YouTube. YouTube is an interesting medium to use in the teaching and learning process of English. YouTube users are spread all over the world from various age groups, from early childhood to adults. One of the popular YouTube Channels among children is ChuChu TV. This study aims to analyze the use of ChuChu TV as a vocabulary-learning medium for early childhood. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study method. Researchers used observation and interviews as data collection techniques. Participants in this study were children aged 5 to 6 years in Purwosari, North Metro District, Metro City. The research results show that the use of the ChuChu TV YouTube Channel can improve English vocabulary in some early childhood students. Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify higher education students’ experience regarding the application of Asynchronous Learning in learning English for Academic Purposes (EAP) so that future improvements can be made. This research method is an analytical survey with an exploratory method and a quantitative approach. The population of this study was 94 students taking EAP course, then 50 people were selected as samples using Simple Random Sampling. The instrument used in this research was questionnaire with 5-point likert scale to gain the data related to students’ experience in the implementation of AL in EAP course. The research results show that students believe that Asynchronous Learning can improve some students learning autonomy, and learning abilities. It is also found that AL can be developed better to help students improve their critical thinking skills, communication skills, social interaction and collaboration between students. Apart from that, students also consider the application of Asynchronous Learning in learning to be enjoyable.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations, that the learning process in English subjects at SMK Ma'arif 5 Kotagajah has so far been teacher-centered and currently the teaching and learning process is that the teacher only uses the lecture method and uses only limited learning media by teachers and schools. This research aims to describe the procedures for developing pocket books, determine the validity of developing pocket books, and determine the effectiveness of developing pocket books as an English language learning medium at SMK Ma'arif 5 Kotagajah. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method. This research uses a development model developed by Borg and Gall and the development model in this research uses a design from ADDIE. At the Development stage, this vocabulary pocket book was assessed for its suitability by material experts and media experts. The learning media validation results obtained a very valid category with a percentage of 92.2% by material experts and 91.4% by media experts. It can be concluded that research into the development of pocket books as a vocabulary learning medium is stated to be very strong when used as supporting teaching materials. Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop an electronic student worksheet using Live Worksheets for Grammar course to facilitate learning evaluation and to find out the improvement of student learning achievement in Grammar course. The research design used in this study was research & development method in producing e- worksheets. The ADDIE model was carried out to develop e-worksheet by following four procedures: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This research was validated by material experts and design experts to get advice regarding the feasibility of e-worksheets in terms of media and materials. The sample of this research were 18 students were chosen as sample purposely because they had never used e-worksheets with the help of e-Liveworksheet. The data collected by using test and questionaire instruments delivered to the students. The results of this research showed that the validation results with an average score of 94% for Media validation and 85% for material validation, which means that the translated e-worksheet is included in the criteria for being very valid and suitable for use. The result of quesionaire of e-worksheets showed that the average student response is 85%, which means e-worksheets are positive and practical. Based on the post-test scores on learning outcomes, 18 of student respondents received complete post-test scores, the percentage is 66%. Thus, the use of e-worksheets improve students ability in studying Grammar. Thus, e-worksheet of GrammarI using Live Worksheets are valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

This study investigated students’ perceptions of the use of digital posters in English language learning at the junior high school level. The integration of digital media in English Language Teaching (ELT) is considered essential to enhance students’ engagement, motivation, and understanding of learning materials. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach to explore students’ perceptions from cognitive, affective, visual, technical, and learning aspects. The participants were 51 students of SMP Negeri 5 Metro who had experienced learning English using digital posters. Data were collected through questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews with the English Club supervisor as supporting data. The findings revealed that students generally demonstrated positive. perceptions toward the use of digital posters. From the cognitive aspect, students perceived that digital posters helped them understand and remember English vocabulary and materials more easily. Affectively, digital posters increased students’ motivation, interest, and enjoyment in learning English. Visually, the design elements such as colors, images, and layout were considered attractive and supportive of learning. From the technical aspect, most students reported that digital posters were easy to use with minimal technical difficulties. Furthermore, students perceived that digital posters contributed to more effective and interactive English learning. These findings suggest that digital posters can serve as a supportive learning medium in English classrooms when appropriately designed and implemented.
