Abstract

Self-concept of different categories of students. This difference becomes an open secret that students have from a young age and can influence students' critical thinking in mathematics as they solve mathematical problems from within their own self-concept. designed to assess their critical thinking ability in solving problems according to their high, average, and low math self-concepts. The research method used is exploratory with a qualitative descriptive approach. The study was conducted with a total of 16 students of SMP Islamic Al Mursidia Grade VIII A. Six students were enrolled as subjects in this study: two students with high self-esteem in mathematics, two students with medium self-esteem in mathematics, and two students with low self-esteem in mathematics. The research was conducted through questionnaires, tests and interviews. Through data reduction, data presentation and final stages through technical and temporal triad. The study revealed that two students with high self-concept, one with moderately critical self-concept, one with very critical self-concept, and one with low self-concept. At a serious enough level, the student is not important.Konsep diri siswa dengan kategori yang berbeda-beda. Perbedaan tersebut menjadi rahasia umum yang dimiliki siswa sejak dini dan memungkinkan mereka mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dilihat dari sudut pandang mereka sendiri. Tujuannya adalah mengetahui kempuan berpikir dalam memecahkan masalah menurut konsep diri matematis tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksploratif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Islam Al-Mursyidiyah kelas VIII A dengan jumlah siswa 16 orang. Penelitian ini merekrut 6 siswa untuk mata pelajaran, yaitu 2 siswa belajar mandiri matematika, 2 siswa belajar mandiri matematika dan 2 siswa belajar mandiri matematika. Penelitian dilakukan melalui angket, tes dan wawancara. Juga melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan triangulasi teknis dan temporal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 2 siswa dengan self-esteem tinggi berada pada level kritis, 1 siswa dengan self-esteem sedang berada pada level kritis, 1 siswa berada pada level sangat kritis dan 1 siswa dengan self-esteem rendah. pada tingkat sangat kritis dan 1 siswa tidak kritis.

Abstract

In the learning process, the teacher has an obligation to be able to share attention and supervision to students, especially in using manipulative materials. Giving more supervision by the teacher in the use of manipulative materials is very necessary. In this study, has the aim of knowing the perception of mathematics teachers in the use of manipulative mathematics teaching materials with comperative material on students to improve character. Any research that uses descriptive qualitative methods from the perception through mathematics teachers which produces research data with a very good response. Research results by showing that  perception by mathematics teachers in the use of manipulative mathematics teaching materials for comparison materials resulted that use through manipulative teaching materials was very effective if used on comparative materials for students to improve their character. It is indicated by the perception achieved by the teacher towards the students. So that learning using manipulative materials needs to be considered by educators to be more focused so that learning runs more optimally.
