Abstract

Background: Based on data from the Kutabawa Village Midwife in 2022, the ISPA rate in toddlers reaches 7%, which is the highest case compared to others. Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an acute infectious disease that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract, from the nose to the alveoli. Treatment of ARI can use pharmacology and non-pharmacology. Non-pharmacology can use ginger and honey decoction, which is effective for reducing ARI symptoms such as coughs and runny noses.The purpose: To determine the effectiveness of giving ginger and honey decoction as a complementary therapy to an R with ARI problems. Methods: This study used a case study method with respondents suffering from mild ARI (cough, runny nose, discharge, and having not received pharmacological treatment) and focusing on giving ginger and honey decoction as complementary therapy to children with ARI. Using three instruments, namely observation sheets, interview sheets, and the Gordon assessment format, This research was carried out in Kutabawa Village for 5 days, from March 15–20, 2023. Results: After 5 days of action, the frequency of the child's cough decreased. Conclusion: Giving ginger and honey decoction to An.R. for 5 days, which is given twice a day, is effective as a complementary therapy in cases of mild ARI.

Abstract

Background : The frequency of diarrhea in children in Central Java was 8.4% in 2018, according to the diagnosis of health workers (Riskesdas, 2018). Diarrhea is a condition of abnormal or uncharacteristic stool output characterized by an increase in volume, liquid stool, and frequency of defecation more than 3 times a day. Purpose: Find out comprehensive nursing care for children with a medical diagnosis of diarrhea. Methods: This research uses a case study method with male respondents with a medical diagnosis of diarrhea. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview (the results of the interview contained client identity, main complaints, history of current and past illnesses), observation and physical examination. This research was conducted at work area of the Kalikajar Health Center for 3 days (May 29, 2023 until May 31, 2023). Results: The results of case studies in children with diarrhea obtained diagnoses that is, diarrhea, hyperthermia and hypovolemia. After carrying out nursing care for 3 days, it was found that the three problems were resolved so that the intervention was stopped. Conclusion : . Based on the evaluation results, the problems of diarrhea,hyperthermia and hypovolemia in children can be resolved. Keywords: Children, Diarrhea, Nursing care.

Abstract

Background: Cases of hypertension in Central Java increased by 25.8% from the previous year. Hypertension or commonly known with high blood pressure occurs due to increased pressure blood in arteries continuously exceeding limits normal blood pressure. Hypertension can be caused by increasing age but a factor that is no less important is lifestyle. As a reference, treating hypertension can be done in alternative ways, namely with traditional or herbal medicines, one of which is honey. Purpose: to describe the benefits of giving pure honey in lowering blood pressure in the elderly who have hypertension. Method: this uses the case study method with respondents who have systolic blood pressure of 140-159 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure of 90-99 mmHg in grade 1 hypertension. Using instruments, namely, interview sheets and observation sheets. Results: The results of the case study showed that honey can reduce blood pressure in hypertension patients. Conclusion: There is a decrease in blood pressure in the elderly by giving honey in the morning and evening with a dose of 20 ml for 7 days with a pre value of 158/95 mmHg and a post value of 138/90 mmHg.

Abstract

Background: Gout is a disease where purine buildup occurs which can cause join inflammation tp the point of swelling, so that someone who has gout will definitely feel unbearable pain. Gout usually appears in the big toe, ankle, knee, and elbow areas. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to reduce pain is to use ginger warm compresses. Purpose: this study was to describe the effect of giving warm ginger compresses to reduce pain levels in elderly people with gout. Research method: case study. Result: research shows that giving ginger warm compresses can reduce the level of pain felt by Mrs. S with an initial pain scale of 7 then dropped to a pain scale of 4. Conclusion: research has the effect of warm ginger compresses to reduce the pain level of gout sufferers in Mrs. S with an initial scale of 7 to a scale of 4.
