Abstract

Rapid urbanization has resulted in landscape fragmentation, environmental degradation, and weakened ecological connectivity. The concept of the Urban Ecological Network (UEN) provides a systemic framework for integrating green spaces into a functional ecological system. Green infrastructure acts as the structural backbone of this network. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of green infrastructure in establishing UEN and to formulate optimization strategies for sustainable urban landscape planning. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis grounded in landscape ecology theory. The findings indicate that green infrastructure optimization requires spatial network planning, multi-scale integration, and regulatory alignment with ecological connectivity principles. Green infrastructure should be positioned as a core ecological structure rather than merely an aesthetic element in resilient urban systems.

Abstract

Abstract: The ongoing issue today is the lack of attention given to water management aspects (related to surface runoff and infiltration) as a crucial element that must be seriously considered in the spatial planning process. (UU No. 24 Tahun 1992). One of the problems often faced in urban areas is surface runoff, with rainwater being an example that can lead to flooding and damage to infrastructure. The rainfall that occurred in the city of Bandung, based on measurements at the Bandung Geophysical Station, falls within the criteria of dense to very dense, with an intensity of 77.7 mm. (in a period of about 1–1.5 hours). With the high rainfall, it often causes problems; one of the common issues faced is the overflow of rainwater, which can lead to flooding and damage to infrastructure. Another problem that often arises in urban areas is the increase in surfaces that cannot absorb water, such as asphalt and concrete, which means that rainwater cannot be adequately absorbed by the soil, potentially leading to flooding, water pollution, and damage to infrastructure. One of the green infrastructures that can be implemented to address this issue, particularly on Dr. Djunjunan Pasteur Street, is the Bioretention Swale. Keyword: Surface runoff, rainwater, Pasteur, green infrastructure, Bioretention Swale. Abstrak: Permasalahan yang masih berlangsung saat ini adalah kurang diperhatikannya aspek tata air (berkaitan dengan limpasan permukaan dan infiltrasi) sebagai bagian yang harus dipertimbangkan secara serius dalam proses perencanaan tata ruang (UU No. 24 Tahun 1992). Salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi di kawasan perkotaan adalah limpasan permukaan, dan air hujan sebagai contoh yang dapat menyebabkan banjir dan kerusakan infrastruktur. Curah hujan yang terjadi di Kota Bandung berdasarkan hasil pengukuran di Stasiun Geofisika Bandung termasuk dalam kriteria padat hingga sangat padat dengan intensitas 77,7 mm (dalam kurun waktu sekitar 1–1,5 jam). Dengan curah hujan yang tinggi tersbut, sering menimbulkan masalah, salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi adalah limpahan air hujan, yang bisa menyebabkan banjir dan kerusakan infrastruktur. Masalah lainnya yang sering muncul di daerah perkotaan adalah meningkatnya permukaan yang tidak bisa menyerap air, seperti aspal dan beton, sehingga air hujan tidak bisa diserap dengan baik oleh tanah, yang bisa menyebabkan banjir, pencemaran air dan juga kerusakan infrastruktur. Salah satu infrastruktur hijau yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut khususnya di Jl. Dr. Djunjunan pasteur adalah Bioretention Swale.Kata Kunci: Limpasan permukaan, air hujan, infrastruktur hijau, Bioretention Swale.
