Abstract

The use of traditional medicine, especially herbal medicine, is still in great demand in the community. The many types of traditional medicines currently appearing on the market provide opportunities for irresponsible manufacturers to market their products. It is known that the people of Maku Village have often used traditional medicine for various diseases. However, the lack of information and education regarding traditional medicines containing medicinal chemicals in the community can have harmful effects on the body if consumed continuously. The purpose of carrying out counseling activities in this service is as an alternative in educating the dangers of the effects of medicinal chemicals. Counseling is presented in the form of lectures and material distribution in the form of media leaflets and satisfaction questionnaires. Based on the percentage value of the indicators in the questionnaire that was distributed, the average percentage of community/partner satisfaction with PkM activities in Maku Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency was 88.16%. As a result the community gains additional knowledge about the use and selection of safe traditional medicines so that they can help foster healthy behavior in the community.Keywords : Medicinal chemicals; Maku Village; EducationPenggunaan obat tradisional khususnya jamu masih diminati di masyarakat. Banyaknya jenis obat tradisional yang saat ini muncul di pasaran memberikan kesempatan kepada produsen yang tidak bertanggung jawab dalam memasarkan produk. Diketahui masyarakat Desa Maku sudah sangat sering menggunakan obat tradisional untuk berbagai jenis penyakit. Namun kurangnya informasi dan edukasi mengenai obat tradisional yang mengandung bahan kimia obat di masyarakat dapat memberikan efek berbahaya bagi tubuh apabila dikonsumsi secara terus menerus. Tujuan dilaksanakan kegiatan penyuluhan dalam pengabdian ini sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam mengedukasi bahaya pengaruh bahan kimia obat. Penyuluhan disajikan dalam bentuk ceramah dan membagikan materi dalam bentuk media leaflet dan kuesioner kepuasan. Berdasarkan nilai persentase per indikator pada kuesioner yang telah dibagikan memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentasi kepuasan masyarakat/mitra terhadap kegiatan PkM di Desa Maku Kecamatan Dolo, Kabupaten Sigi adalah 88,16%. Hasil dari kegiatan ini masyarakat mendapatkan tambahan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan dan pemilihan obat tradisional yang aman sehingga dapat membantu menumbuhkan perilaku sehat di masyarakat.Kata kunci: Bahan kimia obat; Desa Maku; Edukasi

Abstract

Optimal nutrition supports children's growth and development. However, economic factors, family conditions, productivity, and knowledge about child nutrition are often barriers to achieving good nutrition. Powelua is a village in Banawa Tengah sub-district, Donggala, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia which is an outermost and underdeveloped village. Low education, poor access, and meager income are the objectives for carrying out this activity considering that these are the main reasons why someone does not get a decent and healthy life perfectly. The method of implementing the service is a lecture using visual media in the form of posters. The results of this activity. The results of community service show that knowledge about fulfilling nutrition for children does not have good knowledge, but after the counseling has an impact where knowledge about fulfilling nutrition for children and preparing healthy food menus in households is getting better. From the survey results, the satisfaction score was 88.25%, meaning that there is an update on knowledge, which can be in the form of education on balanced nutrition for children, types of food to help children's growth and development.
