Abstract

Fly ash is produced in the combustion process of coal in a factory. It can be used in the construction industry, particularly in cement and concrete production. Moreover, fly ash has been added as one of the materials in cement production due to composition similarities between fly ash and other raw materials. However, fly ash is not environmentally friendly as it contains inorganic compounds that are harmful to the environment. Therefore, it is important to know its properties and characterization for further research, advantages and disadvantages that follows. This study was focusing on the Ca, Cu, Mg and Si in fly ash as a byproduct of coal combustion. Based on the results, SiO2 and CaO levels consecutively are 21,17% and 0,65% indicated that fly ash can be added as one of the materials used in cement production. Furthermore, the toxic Cu and Mg in fly ash displayed its safety in the environment, in sequence are 0,02855ppm and 0,81825ppm.

Abstract

Various types of bacteria, viruses and fungi will be easier to stick to and thrive on unclean hands. Making people use products that contain antiseptics such as soap and hand sanitizer. However, in general, the basic ingredient for making antiseptics comes from alcohol. The development of antiseptic products can be done with natural ingredients such as using sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis (L.)). It is known that sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis (L.)) contains saponin, flavonoid, and tannin compounds which act as antibacterial so that it can be a natural antiseptic ingredient for making hand sanitizer gel. This study aims to determine the effect of maceration time and composition of sweet orange peel extract on antiseptic power in hand sanitizer gel preparations and can produce hand sanitizer products that are in accordance with SNI quality by varying the maceration time of the extract, namely 3 days, 5 days and 7 days the amount of sweet orange peel extract 5%, 10% and 15%. The product analysis of hand sanitizer gel includes organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, density, viscosity, dispersibility and bacteria. Based on the results of the analysis, all samples met the quality of SNI, but the best sample was 15% composition with a maceration time of 7 days. The results of the analysis showed that the pH value was 6, the density was 1.0470 gr/cm3, the viscosity was 578.08 cP, the dispersion was 8.3 cm.

Abstract

Cellulose nanocrystals are a type of cellulose with a nanometer size. Sources of cellulose nanocrystals can come from plants, tunicates, or bacteria. Agricultural wastes have great potential as a source of cellulose nanocrystals. Methods that can be used to isolate cellulose nanocrystals from the main ingredient are hydrolysis methods involving the use of organic acids, enzymatic hydrolysis methods, mechanical treatment methods, or a combination of these methods. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. Cellulose nanocrystals have been extensively researched and applied in various fields ranging from reinforcing agents in polymer matrices, playing a role in drug delivery systems, or other polymeric materials. This review provides information on each of the isolation methods and applications of these cellulose nanocrystals. Keywords: Cellulose Nanocrystals, Hydrolysis, Mechanical Treatment.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Siak, Provinsi Riau, dengan mitra pelaksanaan di SMA Negeri 1 Siak, yang menjadi lokasi penelitian dan responden siswa. Program ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi kepada siswa mengenai pentingnya keselamatan kerja di laboratorium. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini memiliki dampak positif bagi civitas akademika Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya PSDKU Kabupaten Siak, mengingat lokasi yang relatif dekat dengan kampus. Bentuk kegiatan mencakup sosialisasi, berbagi informasi, pemberian pemahaman, dan diskusi terkait keselamatan laboratorium. Pengetahuan yang diperoleh siswa diharapkan dapat diterapkan saat melakukan praktikum di sekolah, melanjutkan studi di perguruan tinggi, maupun memasuki dunia kerja. Selain itu, pemahaman yang memadai mengenai keselamatan laboratorium berperan penting dalam mengurangi risiko kecelakaan kerja bagi siswa di masa depan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of business ethics and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (Unilever Indonesia), evaluating their impact on reporting transparency, company performance, and stakeholder trust. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive case study based on documents (Annual Report, Sustainability Report, governance policies) enriched through triangulation with media coverage related to reputation issues for the 2024–2025 period. The results show that Unilever Indonesia has an established governance systems and code of ethics, as well as comprehensive ESG reporting practices, but faces reputational and market pressures (including the impact of geopolitical issues and adjustments to global sustainability targets) that challenge the implementation of ethics and public perception of ESG commitments. The study discusses academic and practical implications, and recommends steps to improve communication governance and strengthen operational integrity.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia memiliki peran strategis sebagai bahasa resmi dalam dunia pendidikan dan profesional, di mana penguasaannya mencerminkan kemampuan berpikir terstruktur dan kualitas intelektual mahasiswa. Mahasiswa Manajemen, sebagai calon praktisi bisnis, dituntut memiliki profesionalisme komunikasi yang unggul untuk mendukung efektivitas kerja tim dan pengambilan keputusan. Namun, pada realitasnya masih ditemukan kesenjangan di mana banyak mahasiswa kurang optimal dalam menggunakan bahasa formal dan sering terbawa penggunaan bahasa informal dalam situasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis sejauh mana kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia memengaruhi profesionalisme komunikasi mahasiswa Manajemen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka (literature review) dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis. Sumber data berasal dari berbagai literatur ilmiah seperti buku teks, artikel jurnal nasional, dan publikasi akademik lainnya yang relevan dengan topik kemampuan berbahasa dan profesionalisme komunikasi. Data dianalisis secara mendalam menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif dan komparatif untuk menemukan pola serta menyintesis kesimpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap profesionalisme komunikasi mahasiswa Manajemen. Keterampilan berbicara dan menulis diidentifikasi sebagai aspek yang paling dominan dalam menunjang profesionalisme komunikasi dibandingkan keterampilan menyimak dan membaca. Profesionalisme komunikasi mahasiswa tercermin melalui penggunaan bahasa yang sopan, etis, terstruktur, dan sesuai dengan konteks akademik. Penguatan kemampuan berbahasa terbukti meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam berinteraksi serta meminimalkan konflik komunikasi di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.
