Abstract

This research aims to describe Macroscopic and microscopic oesophagus and proventriculus the red jungle fowl (Gallus gallus) from the island of Timor. The main material used in this study a piece of tissue 6 pieces esophagus and proventriculus. Chicken killed by create air embolism into the heart using a spuit through the chest cavity, continue taken organ oesophagus and proventriculus to perform microscopic. further cuts and fixation of tissue samples. Tissue that have fixed taken for preparation of histology. The results showed that esophagus divided into cranial, medial and caudal. with a total rerata length 13,3 ± 3,74 cm, weight 5,2 ± 0,21 g, diameter cranial 0,3 ± 0,0 mm, diameter medial 0,1 ± 0,0 mm and diameter caudal 0,2 ± 0,0 mm. Esophageal mucosa covered by epitelium squamosum compleks not keratinized, and consists of lamina propria and muscularis mucosa. Esophageal gland-type mucus, found in abundance distribution along the esophageal mucosa. Submucosal startum consisting of loose connective tissue. The external muscular startum consisting of the inner circular smooth muscle and longitudinal smooth muscle on the outside. and adventitia layer composed of blood vessels and loose connective tissue. Proventrikulus has a total rerata length of 2,5 ± 0,0 cm, weighs 1,6 ± 0,1 g and a diameter of 0,7 ± 0,0 mm. Startum consisting of lamina epithelialis mucosa, lamina propria, and muscularis mucosa. Submucosal startum in the form of connective tissue. Tunica muscularis satrum composed by smooth muscle. Serous tunica startum consists of loose connective tissue and mesothelium

Abstract

Goat are herbivoreus ruminant animals that commonly farm in Indonesia. Goats have advantages like quick to breed and can adapt in different environments. Goats played importantely in social and culture in Nunkurus Kupang district, goat can have an important role in the field of animal husbandry in the region. The purpose of this study was to determine the physiology parameter of goat in Nunkurus. The measured parameter are body temperature, respiration and pulse. This research uses as much as 36 kacang goats. Sample are grouped into 3 groups based on age. Child group with age 2 to 8 months, young 8 to 12 months and adult >12 months. In each group consist of 6 males and 6 females. The data about fisiology value taken in morning and afternoon in one week for each aged group. The results showed that average of kacang goat body temperature in Nunkurus at the morning is 38,8 ± 0,09°C to 39,7 ± 0,05°C and at the afternoon is 38,9 ± 0,2°C to 40,1 ± 0,1°C. The respiration average at the morning is 14,28 ± 1,1 to 19,42 ± 1,1 times/minute and at the afternoon is 16,85 ± 0,48 to 21,14 ± 0,78 times/minute. The pulse at the morning is 74 ± 1,39 to 99 ± 0,9 times/minute and at the afternoon is 76 ± 1,13 to 102 ± 0,75 times/minute. It is concluded that the value of fisiology parameter in Nunkurus Village is in the same range with the other area in Indonesia.

Abstract

Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) is one of Indonesian faunas. The brain is the most vital organ for living organism because it is a central coordination of the various activities, internal mechanisms and coordinating all body activities related to the stimulation of the surrounding environment. The purpose of this research was to observe the brain macroscopic representation of Asian palm civet. Three Asian palm civets were used in this study. Asian Palm Civet was anaesthetized and perfused then opened the skull to observe the brain macroscopic representation. The brain macroscopic representation showed that the Asian palm civet had 3 parts of brain the cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem. Sulcus and gyrus in Asian palm civet are simpler than dogs. Paraflocculus lobes in the dog is more complicated compare to Asian palm civet that is found on the ventral and dorsal. Vermisin the Asian Palm civet resemblance to the vermis in dog. The continued development of the vermisin Asian palm civet and more developed than the fruit bat (Rousettus sp), in connection with the Asian palm civet life as nocturnal and live in tree.

Abstract

Asian palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) also known as toddy cat or Asian palm civet. Urinary system is a system that plays an important role in cleaning products that are not useful in the body, the cleaning process includes all products that dissolve in the blood, transporting all the material out of the body and also eliminate excess water in the body. The purpose of this research was to observe the structure of the anatomy and histology of kidney and urinary bladder the asian palm civet. Three Asian palm civets were used in this study. Asian palm civets were anaesthetized and perfused then opened the abdomen to observe the anatomy of kidneys and urinary bladder. The anatomy of kidney and urinary bladder representation showed that the asian palm civet had 3 parts: the renal cortex, renal medulla and renal pelvis. The mean length, width and weight of toddy cat kidney was 1.80 ± 0.1 cm, 1.16 ± 0.15 cm and 1.43 ± 0.15 g respectively. Meanwhile, renal histology with Hematoxiline Eosin staining (HE) showed the glomerulus, Bowman's capsule, urinary space, proximal convoluted tubule, distal convoluted tubule, and macula densa. Overview anatomy bladder Asian palm civets (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) had conical with a strong and flexible muscles when pulled. The mean length, width and weight of the bladder for urine unallocated was 2.43 ± 0.15 cm, 1.7 ± 0.1 cm, and 1.13 ± 0.2 g respectively. Meanwhile, the bladder looks epithelial histology transisional, longitudional and circular muscle smooth and connective tissue.
