Abstract

Portoviejo is named the city of the Valley because it is irrigated by the river of the same name and surrounded by hills, where many people with low economic income and dysfunctional families live, many young people from these areas who are currently studying in the educational units of the city. The research made it possible to survey different teachers of the educational units of the municipality, resulting in the need to incorporate the social worker into the training environment, which allows a work climate to be consolidated and has a positive influence not only over time but in the depth of the intervention and its effectiveness, since the social worker is a fundamental pillar within the educational task and within the teaching-learning process.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to identify the resilient strategies in people with disabilities of the Technical University of Manabí. The paper presents a conceptual analysis associated with disability in university students. Some points of view related to the strategies of attention to diversity are exposed. A conceptual analysis related to resilience is provided. The situation of disabled students who are enrolled in the different careers of the Technical University of Manabí is addressed, specifying the type of disability they have. An analysis of the population is made for the study and the selection of the sample. The data related to the measurement of resilience is exposed to disabled students, for which the method developed by (Saavedra & Villalta, 2008) was used, consisting of 60 items, divided into 12 specific factors of resilience. Finally, a vision related to the resilience strategy demanded by disabled students of the Technical University of Manabí is offered.

Abstract

The paper shows the results of a research process that aimed to analyze the pedagogical strategies applied by teachers in the academic process to students with disabilities at the Technical University of Manabí, thus raising the challenge of training professionals in Higher Education. For this purpose, a qualitative-quantitative methodology was used in which 50 teachers were surveyed, which allowed obtaining the required information. The paper presents the ideas offered by teachers about inclusive education, which leads the institution to reflect to refine strategies that promote management in an inclusive education system. Through the development of the research, it was possible to verify the disposition of the teaching staff of the Technical University of Manabi, to continue reinforcing the inclusive policy drawn up by the government and particularly by the direction of the educational institution.
