Abstract

Background: Many workers have experienced increased shoulder pain due to lifting and transporting materials. Workers who lift too heavy a load can cause unhealthy body conditions and experience pain complaints in the shoulder area. This study aimed to determine the relationship between lifting weights and shoulder pain complaints of material transport workers in Gianyar. Methods: This research used the cross-sectional design. The research was conducted offline or directly in the field. The sampling technique used is using total sampling with a total of 64 people. The Spearman rho test was used to analyze the data. Results: The research results on lifting weights with shoulder pain were obtained from research samples with complaints of shoulder pain. Namely, there were 62 people, 99% without complaints of shoulder pain, as much as 1%. Through the Spearman test, the pain value p = 0.000, and the r-value in the relationship of shoulder pain complaints is r = 0.551. Conclusion: There was a relationship between lifting weights and shoulder pain complaints in material transport workers in Gianyar.

Abstract

Background: The development of e-sports in Indonesia is influenced by favorable economic aspects such as commercial and marketing activities, but it also poses physiological problems such as game addiction, physical injuries, and social disorders. This study analyzed the relationship between the duration of playing mobile legends and de Quervain's syndrome (DQS) incidence in e-sport players. Methods: This study used a descriptive-analytic cross-sectional approach. The inclusion criteria were mobile legend esports players who had been in the game for at least one year, while the exclusion criteria were injuries in the wrist. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with the research location in Denpasar City, Bali. Data was collected in April 2023 using a personal data questionnaire, and a sample with DQS was determined using the Finkelstein test. The study's 150 subjects were analyzed using IBM SPSS 26 software. Results: The results of data analysis and hypothesis test showed that there was a significant association between the duration of playing mobile legends and the incidence of DQS among e-sport players in the city of Denpasar (p= 0.001) Conclusion: Playing mobile legends for more than 2.25 hours a day potentially increases the risk of DQS, while shorter playing durations correlate with lower risks.

Abstract

Background: Low back pain is a musculoskeletal disorder caused by incorrect ergonomic conditions at work. It is located at the inferior gluteal fold and the coastal border and lasts more than 24 hours. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of low back pain complaints in handcrafters. Methods: This research used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria for this study were handcrafters of serati banten aged 45-55. In contrast, the exclusion criteria were injuries in the lower back region. The total number of respondents who participated in this study was 50 people. The research location was in Gianyar, Bali. Data was collected from January to October 2023. Data were collected by measuring VAS and REBA. VAS measured the severity and relief of pain, while the REBA questionnaire analyzed work posture. Results: The results of research regarding the prevalence of low back pain in handcrafters of serati banten in Gianyar Regency based on internal factors showed the majority experienced low back pain of mild intensity (60%), and external factors showed that the majority of pain incidents occurred in respondents with a working period of >5 years (52%), working in a sitting position (56%) with moderate risk working postures (64%). Conclusion: The frequency of low back pain occurrences due to external factors was dominated by respondents with less than five years of working experience who worked in a sitting position with a medium-risk work posture.

Abstract

Background: Handcrafters of serati banten are professionals at risk of developing piriformis syndrome. This can happen because serati banten's working position is sitting for a long time. If this position is carried out continuously for a long period, it can cause musculoskeletal symptoms, namely piriformis syndrome. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sitting duration and piriformis syndrome in handcrafters of serati banten. Methods: This research was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional study design conducted from June to December 2023. Sampling was done using a purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 106 people in this study. This study's inclusion criteria were handcrafters of serati banten aged 45 to 55. The exclusion criteria included experiencing low back pain. The independent variable measured was sitting duration, determined by filling in the questionnaire, and the dependent variable measured was piriformis syndrome, calculated using the flexion adduction internal rotation test, active piriformis test, and pace test. Results: Based on the chi-square test results, the value of p=0.003 (p<0.05) was obtained, meaning a significant relationship exists. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between sitting duration and piriformis syndrome in handcrafters of serati banten.
