<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi petani terhadap program perluasan areal sawah dan mengukur hubungan antara karateristik individu petani dengan persepsi petapi terhadap program perluasan areal sawah di Nagari Lubuk Basung Kabupaten Agam. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah metode survei dengan wawancara dan kuisioner. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode sensus terhadap 25 sampel yang memiliki dan mengelola lahan sendiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan petani memiliki persepsi positif terhadap program perluasan areal padi sawah dengan nilai tengah 92 pada selang kepercayaan 95% (α = 0.05). Ada dua karateristik individu petani yang memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap persepsi yakni umur dan pengalaman petani, sedangkan tiga karateristik individu lainnya yakni pendidikan, pendapatan dan luas lahan tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap persepsi petani.Kata kunci : persepsi petani, karateristik individu, perluasan lahan padiThis research aims to assess the farmer’s perception towards extensification program of paddy field and to measure the correlation between individual’s characteristics with the farmer’s perception towards extensification program of paddy field in Lubuk Basung village, Agam regency. The survey methods used to collect and acquire data through interview and questionnaire. This research used census method with a population of 25 people who own the land or having the authority of land management. The results of the research showed that the farmers have positive perception toward the extensification program of paddy field with mean score of 3.92. At 95 percent of confidence level (α = 0.05).There are two of an individual’s characteristics significantly correlated to the perception which are farmer’s age and experience, and there are threeof an individual’s characteristics no significant correlation which are education, income, and the land area.Keywords : Farmer Perceptions, characteristics of the individual, the extensification of paddy fields ]]>
