Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and analyze various evaluation and assessment methods used in learning mathematics and their impact on student achievement. This study uses a qualitative approach by collecting data through classroom observations, interviews with mathematics teachers, and analysis of related documents. The results of this study indicate that there are various evaluation and assessment methods used in learning mathematics, including written tests, projects, presentations, and group assignments. Each method has different advantages and disadvantages, and provides various information about students' understanding and mathematical skills. In this regard, this study also highlights the importance of using a variety of evaluation and assessment methods that are sufficient to measure various aspects of learning mathematics, such as conceptual understanding, application in real-life contexts, problem solving, and critical thinking. This study also identified several challenges faced in the evaluation and assessment of learning mathematics, including difficulties in designing objective tests, measuring complex aspects of skills, and providing constructive feedback to students. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that mathematics teachers continue to develop skills in designing and implementing evaluation and assessment methods that suit students' needs. In addition, training and professional support are needed to increase teachers' understanding of the principles of effective assessment in the context of learning mathematics. Collaborative efforts between teachers, students and other related parties also need to be increased to improve the quality of evaluation and assessment in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Pronunciation is one of important aspects in English and one of the necessary components of oral communication. The purpose of this research is to find out Montessori Method and Demonstration Method effect on students’ Achievement in Pronunciation at Nakamura School. The method of this research based on experimental quantitative research doing with using a number, statistics process and structure. The population of this research will use to the primary 1 students of Nakamura School Medan. The writer used simple Random Sampling that is subset of individuals 9 a sample (chosen from a larger set 9 a population), each individual is chosen randomly and entirely. After collecting and analyzing the data, it was found that the lowest score of pre-test in experimental group was 20 and the highest score was 40 and the mean of pre-test was 30.00 and  after administrated the method of Montessori method, the researcher found the lowest  score of students’ pronunciation was 40 and the highest score was 80 and the mean of post-test was 61.43. It means that there was 20 (40-20) difference of the lowest score in pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the pre-test was 30.00, and the post-test is 61.43 (61.43 – 30.00 = 31.43). It can be concluded that the students’ scores in pre-test of experimental group was smaller than post-test, which was using Montessori method. The lowest score of pre-test in experimental group by Demonstration method was 10 and the highest score was 30, and the mean of pre-test was 22.86. After post-test was administered, the lowest score in experimental group was 50 and the  and the highest was 80 and the mean of post-test was 61.43. The lowest score significantly improved. It means that the difference of the score was 50 (100-50). It also happened to the highest score, 80 improved to 100 (100-80 = 20). It means that the difference of the score was 30. The mean of pre-test was 22.86 and post-test was 61.43 (61.43- 22.86= 38.27). It can be concluded that the students’ score in the experimental group which was taught by applying Montessori method was significantly different and the students’ score in pre-test of experimental group was smaller than post-test , which was Demonstration method.

Abstract

Perkembangan globalisasi yang diiringi dengan pesatnya kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi akan berpengaruh pada pola pikir dan pola tindak masyarakat di berbagai pelosok kota maupun desa. Secara sosiologis dan psikologis, selain berdampak pada masyarakat luas, komunitas yang paling mudah terkena pengaruh fenomena global adalah kalangan generasi muda, khususnya para remaja, dimana pada fase ini remaja sedang memasuki kehidupan masa peralihan dari anak- anak ke masa remaja yang relatif masih labil kondisi emosinya, disamping ia juga sedang mencari identitas dirinya sebagai remaja. Literasi secara tidak langsung memotivasi siswa untuk tertarik pada kegiatan membaca. Dari kegiataan ini, siswa tertarik ikut kegiatan lomba menulis, bercerita atau membaca yang diselenggarakan oleh sekolah dengan rasa tanggung jawab yang tinggi. Literasi mampu memberi manfaat bagi siswa misalnya menambah wawasan, memudahkan dalam membaca dan memahami materi yang sedang dipelajari. Lokasi pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Yayasan Aku Melihat Engkau (AME) Kota Medan. Adapun bentuk kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan berupa sosialisasi dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan pengajaran. Jumlah peserta yang mengikuti sebanyak 15 orang yang terdiri dari anak-anak usia 6-15 tahun. Adapun penyuluhan yang dilakukan berupa edukasi mengenai literasi bahasa, karakter, dan iman pada anak dan pentingnya kemampuan literasi literasi bahasa, karakter, dan iman. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah Para peserta kegiatan telah memahami memahami pentingnya literasi bahasa dan pembentukan karakter dan iman. dan para peserta yakni anak-anak usia 6-15 tahun memperlihatkan antusiasme yang tinggi ditandai dengan semangat yang tinggi baik ketika ice breaking maupun saat mengajukan pertanyaan

Abstract

Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mewujudakan hal tersebut adalah meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dikalangan peserta didik. Banyak yang salah memberikan pandangannya tentang literasi. Sebagian orang menganggap literasi itu hanya sebatas kemampuan membaca saja. Namun definisi literasi tidak sesederhana itu. Literasi secara tidak langsung memotivasi siswa untuk tertarik pada kegiatan membaca. Dari kegiataan ini, siswa tertarik ikut kegiatan lomba menulis, bercerita atau membaca yang diselenggarakan oleh sekolah dengan rasa tanggung jawab yang tinggi. Literasi mampu memberi manfaat bagi siswa misalnya menambah wawasan, memudahkan dalam membaca dan memahami materi yang sedang dipelajari. Lokasi kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Aula Sekolah Nakamura Medan. Adapun bentuk kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan berupa sosialisasi dalam bentuk pelatihan dan penyuluhan. Jumlah warga yang mengikuti sebanyak 20 orang siswa kelas 3 SMA Sekolah Nakamura. Adapun bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan berbahasa baku yang baik dan benar serta edukasi pentingnya literasi berbahasa di kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah Para peserta kegiatan telah memahami pentingnya literasi berbahasa dan para peserta sangat antusias mengikuti pelaksanaan kegiatan dibuktikan dengan banyaknya pertanyaan yang diajukan kepada peneliti.

Abstract

Basically, entrepreneurship training is training that provides entrepreneurial skills, fosters motivation and interest in entrepreneurship so that participants gain increased skills, knowledge, experience and ability to become entrepreneurs. In this digital era, entrepreneurs are required to be more adaptive and innovative. They need to utilize digital technology to improve operational efficiency, expand market reach, and create added value for customers. This service activity uses a training approach as the main instrument. The pre-activity stage begins with identifying the needs and potential of the church congregation, including mapping the participants' abilities and shortcomings. Furthermore, the preparation of training materials tailored to the participants' needs was carried out carefully, taking into account various aspects such as digital knowledge, understanding of business and entrepreneurial potential. From the service activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that this activity has considerable benefits for improving participants' digital entrepreneurship skills and knowledge. Participants also showed high enthusiasm as evidenced by the many questions from the participants. It is hoped that this entrepreneurship training and mentoring will be useful and can increase the knowledge, abilities and skills of digital entrepreneurship for the participants.
