Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of various types and concentrations of organic fertilizers on growth and yield of beans. Research conducted at the village Margosari, Ilir subdistrict Talo Seluma, in September 2015 until January 2016. This study was a completely randomized block design, arranged as factorial. Consists of two factors: the first is a kind of liquid organic fertilizer (P) consists of four treatments namely: P1 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer Hantu; P2 = Organic Fertilizer Crystal Sampurna; P3 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer Biotrent; P4 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer Biotama. The second factor is the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (K) consists of four treatments namely: K0 = Control; K1 = concentration of 1 ml / l of water; K2 = 2 ml / l of water; K3 = 3 ml / l of water. Each combination treatment was repeated 3 times. The study concluded (1) The treatment of liquid organic fertilizers and the interaction between the type and concentration of organic fertilizers no real effect on the growth and yield of beans, while the concentration of organic liquid fertilizer treatments was highly significant. (2) The concentration of liquid organic fertilizer 3 ml / l of water deliver growth and long beans optimal results. Keywords: organic fertilizers, beans, types and concentrations

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of biological herbicide formulas on smallholder coffee plantations in various agro-ecological conditions, namely smallholder coffee fields in the medium plains and plateau. The study concluded that the weeds found in the medium plains coffee fields were 17 species. The dominant weeds were Cynodon dactilon 38.1%, Asystasia gangetica 19.3%, Ageratum conyzoides 10%, Borreria latifolia 5.4%, Acmella paniculata 3.3%, and Clydemia hirta 3.3%. These six types of weeds dominate the land at 79.4%. Meanwhile, in the plateau, there were 20 types of weeds. The dominant weeds were Brachiaria ramosa 17.8%, Synedrella nodiflora 10.4%, Digitaria cyliaris 8.7%, Mikania micrantha, 8.7%, Brachiaria setigera 8.5%, Dryopteris filixmas 7.8%, Ottochloa nodosa. 5.7%, Hyptis rhomboidea 4.3%, Brachiaria reptans 3.9%, and Clidemia hirta 3.5%. These ten types of weeds dominate the land for 79.3%. Herbicides formulated Unihaz 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 were effective in controlling weeds in smallholder coffee plantations, both in the medium plains and plateau.

Abstract

Covid-19 has become a pandemic that has rapidly spread throughout the world. Less than 3 months since it was discovered in China in December 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic has crippled the world economy and caused the delivery of humanitarian aid to Yemen to be hampered due to the Covid-19 outbreak. In addition, there are still wars that cause damage to health facilities. The war, the Covid-19 epidemic and Cholera disease are adding to the devastating effects on growing children in Yemen. UNICEF, as an IGO that focuses on children, reports that in 2020 there were around 34 incidents that made these children victims of child abuse and attacks on educational facilities. This research describes the role of UNICEF in Yemen from 2019 to 2020 in fulfilling children’s rights due to 3 disasters, namely Covid-19, conflict and cholera that occurred in Yemen. This research uses the theory of the role of international organizations as aid providers which is manifested in the form of Humanitarian Assistance. This type of research is a descriptive study that uses data collection techniques in the form of literature studies from 2019 to 2020 sourced from reports from The UNICEF, the WHO website, the UN website, and various verified mass media. UNICEF's role in the form of Humanitarian Assistance is manifested in 5 programs: education, child protection, nutrition, health and sanitation. Keywords: UNICEF, Yemen, Humanitarian Assistance, Covid-19 Pandemic, Children's Rights.

Abstract

A series of studies had been carried out to create new types of herbicides. The studies had found six formulations ofherbicides. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of herbicides formulation in controlling aquatic weeds. Theexperiment used a randomized complete block design with seven herbicide formulations as treatments and three replications. The seven formulations of herbicide were: Unihaz 1, Unihaz 2, Unihaz 3, Unihaz 4, Unihaz 5, Unihaz 6, and a control(glyphosate 2 kg ha-1). The results of the study found that there were 21 species of weed in rainfed swamps, ten species inbrackish swamps and one species namely water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in drainage channel. Herbicide formulationsof Unihaz 3, 4, 5, and 6 were effective in controlling aquatic weeds in rainfed swamps. Herbicide formulations of Unihaz 2, 3and 5 were effective in controlling aquatic weeds in brackish swamps. All herbicides formulations were effective in controllingweeds in drainage channels. Moreover, herbicide formulation of Unihaz 5 was more effective in controlling aquatic weeds inrainfed swamps, brackish swamps and drainage channels than other formulations, and it was not significantly different fromthe use of a glyphosate dose of 2 kg ha-1.Keywords: Eichhornia crassipes, fermented coconut water, organic herbicide, new types of herbicides

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of doses of bioherbicide formulated by Unihaz in controlling weeds, as well as to determine the dose of bioherbicide formulated by Unihaz which is effective in controlling weeds. This study used a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely the Unihaz formulation bioherbicide dose treatment, consisting of 7 levels with 4 replications. The treatments were: dose 1 (40 l/ha), dose 45 l/ha, dose 50 l/ha, dose 55 l/ha, dose 60 l/ha, dose 60 l/ha, and dose 70 l/ha. The data obtained were then analyzed using Fisher's test (F), followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a test level of 5%. The results of this study concluded that the use of a dose of 70 l/ha showed the highest weed mortality rate and the lowest live weed population, the lowest weed wet weight and dry weight which were significantly different from other dose treatments, making it the most effective in controlling grassy grass weeds

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of giving papaya leaf extract on the growth of gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy). This research was carried out in May - June 2021 in Bengkulu City for 60 days. The test fish used were gourami fish measuring 6-8 cm. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely P1: Without papaya leaf extract (control), P2: Dose of papaya leaf extract (10%), P3: Dose of papaya leaf extract (20%), P4: Dose of extract papaya leaves (30%). Each treatment was repeated six times. The research data was analyzed using analysis of variance then continued with further tests for BNT 5% and 1%. The research results of adding papaya leaf extract to the growth of gourami fish for 60 days had a very significant effect on the parameters of absolute weight, absolute length, feed conversion and feed efficiency and had no effect on the survival of the gourami fish. The best treatment for the growth of gourami fish is an additional dose of 20% - 30% papaya leaf extract.
