Abstract

The phenomenon of declining interest in marriage among the younger generation is a social issue that is increasingly sticking out, along with the massive use of social media, especially the TikTok application. This study aims to examine the influence of social media content on young people's perceptions of the institution of marriage, and analyze the role of religiosity in responding to exposure to this information. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method, involving informants aged 15-25 years who actively use TikTok. The results of the study show that TikTok's algorithm that presents content in a repetitive manner based on user preferences can reinforce negative perceptions of marriage, especially through narratives of trauma, divorce, and household conflict. This leads to anxiety, doubt, and even reluctance to get married. However, strong religiosity has been shown to act as a moral and emotional filter in responding to digital content, and is able to encourage individuals to be critical and selective. Therefore, it is necessary to increase digital literacy and strengthen religious values to form a balanced and wise mindset in facing the unstoppable flow of social media information.

Abstract

This study examines the position of substitute heirs (ahli waris pengganti) under Article 185 of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) concerning inheritance rights for grandchildren, focusing on its compliance with Islamic legal sources. The objectives are: (1) to analyze Supreme Court Decision No. 190 K/Ag/2016 on grandchildren’s inheritance, and (2) to evaluate grandchildren’s legal status in Islamic inheritance law. Using a normative juridical method with statutory (KHI) and case approaches, data was drawn from primary sources (Quran, hadith), secondary sources (classical fiqh texts, journals), and court rulings. Findings reveal that the substitute heir concept contradicts classical fiqh principles: (a) absence in Quran/hadith texts, (b) violation of hijab (exclusion) mechanisms as grandchildren are barred by the deceased’s children, and (c) incompatibility with scholarly consensus (ijma’) of major madhhabs. The study proposes obligatory bequest (wasiat wajibah, max. 1/3 of estate) referring to the Hanafi school as a Sharīʿah-compliant solution to ensure justice while preserving fixed inheritance shares (faraid).

Abstract

Along with the needs of Muslims for the translation of the Qur'an, various types of translations of the Qur'an emerged. Especially in this global era, Muslims are competing to provide translations of the Qur'an in digital form and make them available on websites that can be easily accessed. This study describes the review of Islamic law in the online translation of the Qur'an per word. A translation of the Qur'an by word (TQK) into Indonesian is available on websites. The purpose of this study is to explain the suitability of the practice of translating the Qur'an online word by word in accordance with Islamic law. The approach used in this research is to use a qualitative approach, which is library research, namely utilizing library resources to obtain research data. Then they were analyzed with research methods.

Abstract

Marriage is a way to form a family with sacred ties and based on religious teachings. The existence of this marriage bond will give rise to rights and obligations. Among the duties of a wife are to obey her husband and maintain his honor. Meanwhile, the husband's obligations include the obligation to provide maintenance. Brebes is the second largest district in Central Java Province. This research aims to determine and analyze the impact of the transfer of earning a living on the wife, the factors causing it and the law on the transfer of earning a living from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence and psychology. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The results of this research show that: (1) there are 4 negative impacts and 2 positive impacts experienced by the transfer of responsibility for earning a living to wives in Brebes District, (2) there are 4 factors that cause wives to choose to earn a living in Brebes District, ( 3) The transfer of responsibility for earning a living to the wife gives rise to laws in jurisprudence based on several circumstances and also the existence of a wife who plays a dual role can affect marital and family harmony, as well as affect the wife's mental condition.
