Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ achievement in Science learning through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in class V-C of SDN Kebon Baru 09, South Jakarta, consisting of 30 students. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with data collected through observation using teacher and student activity monitoring sheets, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The findings revealed that the application of the Problem Based Learning model improved students’ achievement in Science. In the first cycle, the mastery learning percentage reached 50%, while in the second cycle it increased to 83%, showing an improvement of 33%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving Science learning achievement among fifth-grade students at SDN Kebon Baru 09, South Jakarta.

Abstract

Guru Sekolah Dasar saat ini di tuntut menjadi guru kelas yang professional, maka guru hendaknya mempersiapkan diri mengarah kualitas diri dengan mengikuti pelatihan atau pendampingan dalam bidang pendidikan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah Upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dengan meningkatkan softskill pada guru-guru Sekolah Dasar gugus1Jatisari tentang pentingnya menerapkan media pembelajaran berupa science local song berupa kartun digital. Pelaksanaan pengabdian melalui tiga tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil temuan dari kegiatan pendampingan kompetensi guru sekolah dasar adalah guru dapat membuat media inovatif berupa kartun digital yang terintegrasi dengan lagu – lagu lokal, terbukti setiap kelompok terdiri dari tga orang maju kedepan dan mempresentasikan hasil pembuatannya. Manfaat yang diperoleh adalah meningkatkan softskill dibidang media inovatif berupa kartun digital yang terintegrasi dengan lagu –lagu lokal sehingga dapat mempraktikannya dalam proses pembelajaran disekolah masing – masing. Media science local song berupa kartun digital merupakan media inovasi baru untuk diaplikasika oleh guru setelah melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan ini.

Abstract

Background: The lack of science inquiry literacy among elementary school teachers is a crucial issue affecting the quality of science education. This condition is caused by various factors, including low teacher LIS competency, inadequate facilities, and a lack of learning media that support inquiry learning for students' diverse learning styles. To address this, training is needed that can provide teachers with opportunities to design inquiry learning based on students' learning styles.Aims and Method: This community services program aimed to enhance teachers' Scientific Inquiry Literacy (SIL) through the dissemination of SIDILAN using the Interactive Lecture Demonstration method.Results: The pre-posttest results showed a high average N-Gain (0.76), categorized as High. 13 teachers who were drilled using the SIDILAN application in their lessons experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as High. Two teachers also experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as Medium. .  There has been an increase in teachers' knowledge about SIL, student learning styles, the relationship between SIL and learning styles, and scientific inquiry learning designs that facilitate various student learning styles. Teachers reported SIDILAN as user-friendly, effective in identifying student learning styles, useful for instructional planning. and improving inquiry skills so that they could achieve science with good inquiry.
