Abstract

Abstract

Color blindness is a general term for a condition or condition in which the quality of color vision is impaired. People with color blindness have difficulty distinguishing certain shades of color. Color blindness is also called Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) taking into account the prevalence of color blindness in Indonesia of 0.7% which is a cause of disability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) based color blindness test tool with the application of a question bank system using the Ishihara method which can help users check for color perception disorders which can be implemented by checking color blindness early on. In designing this IoT-based color blindness test tool, measurements were taken on 30 respondents to check the accuracy of the tool that has been designed. This color blindness test tool has an accuracy of 97%. This color blindness test tool functions to help users more easily carry out color blindness tests because it has an IoT base using the NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller. This tool allows users to not be able to memorize questions like in the color blind test which uses a manual Ishihara book, because the question bank system in this tool involves randomizing the questions and the results can later be accessed via a web server.   Keywords: Color Blind, NodeMCU ESP32, Web Server

Abstract

Ultrasound phantom is an important tool in simulation, training, and calibration of ultrasound devices. This study aims to compare the performance of agar and oil-based ultrasound phantoms using vertical distance and horizontal distance parameters. Both types of phantoms are made by embedding test objects in the form of nylon ropes in their respective media. Evaluation is carried out by measuring the vertical and horizontal distances displayed on the ultrasound image, then compared with the actual distance. The results show that the oil phantom produces measurement deviations that are still within acceptable tolerance limits. The oil-based phantom shows more stable and accurate results. Thus, the oil-based phantom is considered superior and more recommended for use in simulation and testing of ultrasound devices.   Keywords: USG phantom, vertical distance, horizontal distance, agar-based phantom, oil-based phantom.

Abstract

The research develops and evaluates a 12-lead Electrocardiograph (ECG) calibrator using ESP32 microcontroller technology to enhance calibration precision in clinical environments. Healthcare facilities need accurate ECG signal recording through portable calibration devices that maintain ≤ 5% error tolerance. Previous calibrator designs lack unified integration of complete 12-lead functionality, extensive BPM ranges, and variable amplitude control within single portable units. The methodology incorporates hardware-software development, voltage measurements across three assessment points (charger module, ESP32 output, Nextion LCD), BPM validation at four operational settings, and waveform analysis (normal, square) with amplitude evaluation across multiple sensitivities. Experimental results demonstrate an average total error of 1.2% for BPM and amplitude measurements, maintaining voltage stability within ± 5% tolerance limits. Performance analysis validates device reliability for ECG calibration applications, showing optimal performance with square waveform configurations. The ESP32-based calibrator proves technically viable and clinically safe, providing cost-effective, high-precision alternatives to existing solutions. Future development opportunities include triangular waveform integration, Wi-Fi connectivity for remote operation, and rapid calibration initiation features.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, especially in gadgets, has changed people's lifestyles. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget use and Body Mass Index (BMI) in students at Maranatha 01 Elementary School, Semarang City. This study used a quantitative, objective approach with a sample of 42 respondents. Parameters measured included height and body mass using an automatic BMI tool. Next, questionnaires were collected, and data were analyzed using the chi-square test and linear regression. The results showed that the majority of students used gadgets for less than two hours per day and began using gadgets after the age of five. According to the analysis, there was no significant relationship between the duration of device use and students' BMI status (p=0.721), and the effect was very weak in the regression analysis (p=0.729). This suggests that time spent using devices is not the primary factor influencing children's BMI. Other factors such as diet, physical activity levels, and genetic predisposition play a greater role in determining children's nutritional status. It is hoped that this research will serve as a basis for developing more comprehensive child health policies and programs in the modern era.
