Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, especially in gadgets, has changed people's lifestyles. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget use and Body Mass Index (BMI) in students at Maranatha 01 Elementary School, Semarang City. This study used a quantitative, objective approach with a sample of 42 respondents. Parameters measured included height and body mass using an automatic BMI tool. Next, questionnaires were collected, and data were analyzed using the chi-square test and linear regression. The results showed that the majority of students used gadgets for less than two hours per day and began using gadgets after the age of five. According to the analysis, there was no significant relationship between the duration of device use and students' BMI status (p=0.721), and the effect was very weak in the regression analysis (p=0.729). This suggests that time spent using devices is not the primary factor influencing children's BMI. Other factors such as diet, physical activity levels, and genetic predisposition play a greater role in determining children's nutritional status. It is hoped that this research will serve as a basis for developing more comprehensive child health policies and programs in the modern era.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an essential indicator of healthcare quality, directly linked to trust and patient loyalty. This study aims to analyze patient satisfaction levels toward the services provided at Kembang Arum Clinic, Kalipancur, Ngaliyan District, Semarang City. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey design, with data collected through questionnaires covering five dimensions of satisfaction: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Data were gathered from a sample of patients within a specified period and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate the highest satisfaction levels in the empathy dimension (74.6%) and reliability (66%), while the assurance dimension had the lowest satisfaction level (58.33%). Certain aspects, including waiting times and physical facilities, require improvement to enhance service quality. The conclusion highlights the need for improved medical facilities and better time management to ensure higher patient satisfaction levels.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a key indicator in assessing individual health that can be determined through anthropometric measurements, particularly height and weight. This study uses a design approach that aims to design and implement a wireless system for measuring nutritional status based on Body Mass Index (BMI) using a TOF400C sensor and a Load Cell controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller. The TOF400C sensor measures height based on the Time-of-Flight principle of infrared light, while the Load Cell measures weight with the HX711 module. Data from both sensors is processed by the ESP32 to calculate BMI and categorize nutritional status according to WHO standards. Test results on 10 adult subjects showed an accuracy of 99.6% for the height measuring device and 98.3% for the weight measuring device compared to standard devices, as well as real-time results displayed on OLED and TFT screens. This system is expected to be a practical and efficient solution for digital nutritional status monitoring.
