Abstract

Background: Vaccines are an important tool in preventing serious infectious diseases. Cold chain management is essential to maintain vaccine quality, including storage, transportation, and distribution at appropriate temperatures. This study aims to investigate the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and motivation of health workers responsible for cold chain management of the COVID-19 vaccine. Method: This was a systematic literature review study by searching through databases: Google Scholar, PubMed, Semantic Scholar, and Frontiers, using some keywords. 76 relevant previous studies were found. After filtering for publication year (post-2019), they reviewed 19 articles' abstracts. However, 10 articles lacked information on vaccine officers' knowledge, attitudes, and motivation in cold chain management. Thus, only 9 articles were included in the review. Results: The results show that adequate knowledge, training, and understanding of guidelines significantly influence desired vaccine cold chain management practices. These studies also highlight the importance of understanding guidelines, efficient implementation, and sustainability aspects in vaccine management. Conclusion: This research concludes that to increase the effectiveness of vaccination programs, efforts are needed to increase knowledge, training, and implementation of guidelines among health workers responsible for the vaccine cold chain. Efforts to understand and implement sustainable practices are also crucial. The conclusions from this research can help decision-makers improve vaccine cold chain management to ensure the success of the vaccination program.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting a significant portion of Indonesians populations with a substantial impact on the quality of life. Despite its widespread usage, the EQ-5D-5L remains a generic measure that may fail to capture condition-specific characteristics such as self-care obstacles, social support, psychological burdens, and complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. These constraints emphasize the theoretical gap and the need for a personalized remedy. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional approach and was conducted at six community health centers (Puskesmas) in Yogyakarta City between October 2024 and February 2025. A total of 400 respondents aged 19-59 years who consented to participate were included in the study. Content validity testing was conducted by expert panel, who provided feedbacks on the relevance of the items, revisions prior to pilot testing of the instrument. Face validity was evaluated with 40 respondents. Model fit and construct validity were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Results: The Cronbach’s Alpha value for internal concistency reliability was 0.86. The majority of respondents were female (64.75%), had a moderate level of education (67.50%), and belonged to the low income bracket (61.75%). Hypertension was the most commonly reported complication (26.75%). Respondents’ quality of life was categorized as fairly good. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) revealed that the social support dimension did not meet the validity threshold. After its removal, the five dimensional model—mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression showed satisfactory construct validity and reliability, with standardized loadings ranging. The Comparative Fit Index (CFI) was 0.923, while the Tucker-Lewis Index reached 0.885, RMSEA (0.125), and SRMR (0.069) suggesting a model fit that approaches, but does not fully meet, ideal thresholds. Conclusion: The instrument exhibits acceptable reliability and preliminary validity consistent with the theoretical construct. However, revision of the social support items and further validation in broader populations are necessary before wider application.

Abstract

Background : Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) remains a significant global health challenge, with Indonesia identified as a high-vulnerability nation. This study describes HIV testing services and outcomes at community health center (PHCs) in Sleman District, Indonesia, as part of a national policy to eliminate HIV. Method : A descriptive study was conducted using data from the SIHA 2.1 system for all 941 patients who underwent HIV testing at Gamping Two PHC from January to December 2024. The analysis focused on testing volume, demographic characteristics, and positivity rates across different key populations and age groups. Results :  Pregnant women constituted the largest group tested (514), largely due to mandatory antenatal screening, followed by the general population (124). The most frequently tested age group was 21-35 years (688 patients). Overall, 941 individuals were tested, with 8 new positive HIV diagnoses recorded. Notably, males accounted for 6 of the positive cases, primarily within the Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) population (aged 21-35 and 36-50 years), while two females tested positive, one from the pregnant women group (<20 years) and another from the Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) group (21-35 years). Conclusion : These findings highlight the continued importance of PHC-based testing services in identifying HIV cases, particularly among key populations like MSM and pregnant women, underscoring the need for targeted prevention and intervention strategies.
