Abstract

Tanaman pangan di Indonesia sangat beragam termasuk diantaranya padi, jagung dan ubi kayu. Namun lahan pertanian di Indonesia semakin sempit seiring dengan laju pertumbuhan penduduk yang semakin tinggi. Lahan kering (sub optimal) di Indonesia masih banyak yang belum dimanfaatkan, yang sebenarnya bisa dioptimalkan sebagai lahan pertanian. Tanaman pangan yang memiliki tingkat ketahanan lebih tinggi terhadap lahan kering adalah tanaman ubi kayu, sehingga berpotensi untuk ditanam pada lahan kering. Tahap pertama pemuliaan tanaman ubi kayu adalah mengetahui karakterisasi gen pada tanaman tersebut salah satunya yaitu WIN1. Metode pertama yang dilakukan adalah isolasi DNA daun ubi kayu varietas Adira 1 dan Malang 6, kemudian amplifikasi dengan PCR, dan analisis sekuensing. Hasil menunjukkan tanaman ubi kayu Adira 1 memiliki asam amino yang sama dengan kultivar am560-2 yang terdapat pada GenBank, sedangkan pada varietas Malang 6 terdapat satu asam amino yang berbeda. Hal tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh adanya mutasi gen pada varietas ubi kayu serta perbedaan kandungan HCN pada ubi kayu pangan varietas Adira 1, dan ubi kayu industri varietas Malang 6.

Abstract

Oral cancer is the most feared impact of smoking compared to other impacts because it is considered the most threatening to a person's life. 80% of oral cancer patients are smokers. A smoker has a seven times greater chance of developing oral cancer than a non-smoker. The appearance of lesions in the oral cavity resulting from a smoking habit is leukoplakia, which is white spots or plaque on the oral mucosa that cannot be peeled off. Experts say that leukoplakia is a pre-malignant lesion in the mouth. The percentage of leukoplakia that turns malignant is 3-6%. Smokers have a six times greater risk of suffering from leukoplakia than non-smokers. According to Silverman's research, of all Leukoplakia cases, 95% of sufferers are smokers. Some literature states that the peak development of leukoplakia can occur after 4 years of tobacco use. One way to detect early malignancies in the oral cavity is to use toluidine blue. Toluidine blue is an important additional diagnostic method to help identify the biopsy site and lesion boundaries, thereby providing a correct diagnosis and early treatment. Toluidine Blue 1% can be used by health workers because it does not require special skills, can be used en masse, is cheap, can be done without requiring a special room, so it can be used during social service services at Community Health Centers and Postal Service Centers.

Abstract

Bank sampah merupakan konsep pengumpulan sampah kering dan dipilah serta memiliki manajemen layaknya perbankan namun yang ditabung adalah sampah plastik. Disini kami bekerja sama dengan Bank sampah dari pegadaian dengan tujuan untuk mengenalkan program ini dikalangan mahasiswa universitas jember. Adapun pelaksanaan dengan menggunakan dua metode yaitu seminar dan praktek bersama yang di ikuti oleh peserta, Output dari pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat dikatakan berhasil dengan melihat antusias dan peran aktif dari Mahasiswa Pertanian universitas jember dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini secara penuh. Kegiatan seminar dan praktek lapang bekerja sama dengan panitia Inagurasi Pasca Organic 2022 Fakultas Pertanian. Dengan adanya pengabdian masyarakat ini kami berharap, dapat melahirkan budaya baru ditengah masyarakat khususnya mahasiswa universitas jember dalam usaha pengelolahan limbah plastik.

Abstract

This social project aims to open up elementary school students' views regarding nutrition and a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). Apart from that, it aims to change their behavior by implementing PHBS in their daily lives, such as washing their hands regularly, exercising regularly, and throwing rubbish in the right place. Community Service was carried out at SDN Jambewungu 1, Wringin District, Bondowoso Regency with a total of 88 students from grades 1 to 6. The method used is a conventional method which involves presentation, practice and discussion in implementation. The results of community service show that the knowledge and insight of students at SDN Jambewungu 1 increased by 40% regarding their understanding or mastery of nutrition, hygiene and personal health material which we adopted as the main material in service activities.

Abstract

Education is a basic right needed to improve the quality of human resources (HR). Education also influences the process of increasing each individual's insight and knowledge. In various contexts, problems with education often arise due to a lack of awareness regarding the importance of education. Likewise at SDN Ampelan 2, the lack of education regarding education and individual awareness of the importance of nutrition and health is one of the obstacles. In this social project, the main objective which is the main basis is how schools can provide education regarding healthy lifestyles, personal health and academics. By introducing intensive, active and persuasive learning, this social project takes an approach by showing educational videos as an interactive media approach. Providing PHBS material, Fill My Plate, washing hands, brushing teeth and English related to health sciences, as well as intensive supporting academic learning is a social project effort to increase the strengthening of balanced nutrition and awareness of the importance of personal health. SDN Ampelan 2's enthusiasm for this social project is supporting evidence for the changes that have occurred regarding healthy lifestyles, personal health and education. The post-test results showed that the students at SDN Ampelan 2 were able to achieve an understanding of the material with an average score above 80%. Other changes also occur in behavioral aspects of health, knowledge, cleanliness and discipline. Changes in the application of ethics also support positive changes for students at SDN Ampelan 2.

Abstract

Social independence and alternative efforts to improve the village economy are joint or collaborative efforts through community service activities. The form of community service activities can be in the form of information transfer, education and technology or other planned activities. One of these fields can be agricultural activities, namely plant breeding or cell multiplication which functions to meet the need for seeds, especially for home gardens, ornamental plants, plantations, food and horticulture, all of which can be done independently for sale or to meet one's own needs. Cultivation of garden and horticultural crops in Suling Wetan Village still uses conventional methods which greatly affect overall production results. The macropropagation technique is an effort to obtain quality seeds that have viability, disease resistance and superior characteristics and are able to maintain the same characteristics as their parents. The service activities received a very good response from the Suling Wetan village farmer group and the general public. Farming groups or the general public can utilize macropropagation technology to support agricultural production at low costs and become an alternative source of income.

Abstract

Increasing community empowerment and self-help needs to be considered in order to achieve social independence and increase the village economy evenly. Plant propagation is important in meeting the seed needs of rural communities. The role of universities as institutions of higher education and research development must be able to be the first hand in overcoming all aspects of society. The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, has developed many macropropagation techniques for various crops, including food, horticulture, ornamentals and plantations. Various research and scientific development results have not been fully applied to the community. The problem of banana cultivation in Patrang Village is still using the traditional way. The use of conventional seeds is often not standardized for good quality, which will have a major impact on the declining yield of horticultural crops. The purpose of this program is to provide knowledge to the people of Patrang Village in the form of explanations of banana plant macropropagation techniques through workshops, training, and direct assistance. Provision of seeds is important in plant cultivation and must have good quality. Macropropagation technique is one way to get quality seeds that have superior properties, free of disease, and high viability. Macropropagation technique is able to produce more quantity of vegetative seeds, able to maintain the same character as the parent and the waiting time to bear fruit is faster. The intensification of macropropagation of banana plants is expected to increase community empowerment and self-help of banana seedlings in Patrang Village, Patrang District, Jember Regency.

Abstract

Komunitas motor atau otomotif sangat pesat perkembangannya di Indonesia khususnya Bondowoso, hal ini ditandai dengan kehadiran puluhan bahkan sampai ratusan komunitas motor yang berada dikota bondowoso, baik komunitas motor yang memiliki akta notaris atau komunitas motor yang tidak resmi. Kehadiran komunitas motor cenderung dianggap meresahkan oleh masyarakat pada umumnya, diidentikkan dengan kenakalan remaja, hal yang sifatnya mengganggu kenyamanan atau ketertiban umum. Selain itu tingkat kecelakaan bermotor yang berakibat fatal banyak dialami oleh anggota dari komunitas motor yang berusia remaja. Banyaknya fakta dilapang dan opini negative yang ditujukan pada komunitas motor maka kami tergerak untuk melaksanakan pengabdian masyarakat yang bekerjasama dengan Cbr Club Indonesia region Bondowoso. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah menjadikan Cbr Club Indonesia region Bondowoso menjadi komunitas motor percontohan di Jawa Timur khususnya Bondowoso. Kami berupaya menanamkan gagasan baru dalam bentuk program kegiatan yang dimodifikasi sehingga setiap kegiatan memiliki nilai edukasi dan kemanfaatan. Kegiatan yang dimodifikasi seperti Ecosystem Touring, Education Touring, Entrepreneur Touring, Heritage Touring, dan Charity Touring. Demikian juga kegiatan dalam bentuk pertemuan rutin atau kopdar kami modifikasi dengan harapan setiap anggota akan mendapatkan wawasan baru dengan mendatangkan narasumber sesuai dengan kebutuhan anggota. Program-program kegiatan tersebut tidak menghilangkan akar atau pondasi yaitu hobi otomotif, namun memperkuat visi, misi dan tujuan komunitas motor.
