The rapid development of urban areas in Bekasi City has increased pressure on the urban drainage system, particularly in the Sasakjarang Watershed. Land use conversion from infiltration areas into built-up areas has increased surface runoff that is not balanced by adequate drainage capacity, resulting in recurring inundation in Taman Narogong Housing Estate. This study aims to identify the existing condition and performance of the drainage system in controlling inundation, analyze the technical and non-technical factors affecting system performance, and formulate sustainable improvement recommendations. The research employed a quantitative approach through hydrological and hydraulic analyses, evaluation of drainage channel capacity, and analysis of spatial utilization and socio-environmental aspects. Data were obtained from field surveys, rainfall data, land use data, interviews, and questionnaires. The results indicate that most drainage channels are unable to accommodate the design flood discharge due to limited hydraulic capacity, sedimentation, waste accumulation, and inadequate maintenance. In addition, land use changes and low community participation further aggravate inundation problems. The recommendations include increasing channel capacity, implementing flood control structures such as long storage, strengthening drainage maintenance, controlling spatial planning, and enhancing community participation in urban drainage management. Keywords: land use, Sasakjarang watershed, surface runoff, urban drainage
