Abstract

Work fatigue is an occupational health problem that can increase the risk of accidents and reduce productivity. Data shows that work accidents remain high, and some are caused by work fatigue. This study aims to determine the factors associated with work fatigue among employees at the Sabbangparu Community Health Center in Wajo Regency in 2024. This study used a quantitative, cross-sectional design. The study population comprised all 68 employees at the Sabbangparu Community Health Center, with a total sampling approach, yielding 68 respondents. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that work shifts (p = 0.009), length of service (p = 0.030), and workload (p = 0.011) were related to work fatigue. Meanwhile, there was no relationship between work period (p = 0.443) and nutritional status (p = 0.387) with work fatigue. This study concludes that work shifts, length of service, and workload are associated with work fatigue, whereas work period and nutritional status are not. Therefore, it is recommended that the Community Health Center pay closer attention to workload scheduling and employee rest times to prevent excessive work fatigue.

Abstract

Food safety of school snacks is an important issue because elementary school children are considered a vulnerable group to exposure to hazardous chemical substances. Emphasizing this can help school administrators, health officials, and policymakers feel a shared responsibility to protect students' health and motivate action. The results showed that 30% of dry snacks tested positive for Methanyl Yellow, while 30% of wet snacks tested positive for formaldehyde. Overall, 60% of the snacks contained at least one hazardous substance and were categorized as unsafe, whereas only 40% were classified as safe. This highlights the need for combined efforts from all stakeholders to reduce health risks and improve snack safety. In conclusion, most school snacks at SDN Rappokalling did not meet food safety standards and may pose health risks to students. Recognizing this, school administrators, food vendors, and policymakers can feel empowered to implement effective supervision, education, and policy measures to improve safety.

Abstract

Food safety is a significant public health issue, particularly among school-aged children who frequently consume snacks in school settings. Poor snack choices can increase the risk of consuming unsafe food, thereby impacting health. This study aimed to analyze the relationships among knowledge, attitudes, and pocket money and students' snacking habits. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected via questionnaires from 70 students at SMP 37 Bulukumba and analyzed using the chi-square test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and snacking habits (p = 0.000); the majority of respondents with poor knowledge exhibited poor snacking habits (93.3%). A significant relationship was also found between attitudes and snacking habits (p = 0.002), with most respondents holding poor attitudes displaying poor snacking habits (88.4%). Furthermore, a significant relationship was observed between pocket money and snacking habits (p = 0.004). In conclusion, knowledge, attitudes, and pocket money are associated with students' snacking habits. Schools are encouraged to enhance education on selecting safe and healthy snacks and to foster a school food environment that supports healthy snacking behaviors.
