Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of plyometric training in improving strength and agility, as well as to compare the extent to which plyometric exercises are more effective than conventional training methods. The research employed an experimental approach designed to identify causal relationships between the treatment and the measured outcomes. The study utilized a Pretest Posttest One Group Design, in which measurements were conducted both before and after the intervention. The research sample comprised 20 students actively participating in the volleyball extracurricular program. The research instruments included a leg dynamometer to assess lower-limb muscle strength and a zig-zag test to evaluate participants’ agility levels. The findings revealed significant differences between the pretest and posttest results for both dependent variables strength and agility. The obtained significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) indicates that the implemented training programs, namely the box drill and flog jump exercises, had a substantial impact on enhancing the participants’ physical performance. Therefore, it can be concluded that plyometric training has a positive influence and statistical impact on increasing strength and agility. Overall, this study reaffirms that plyometric training is an effective and efficient method for enhancing physical capabilities, making it highly recommended for inclusion in athletic conditioning and performance development programs.

Abstract

Early motor skill development is essential for socioemotional development, cognitive development, and physical preparedness. However, children’s chances for sufficient motor stimulation have decreased in Indonesia due to shifting activity patterns and constrained play areas. A culturally grounded educational alternative that gives organic and comprehensive motor experiences is traditional Indonesian games. This study aims to summarize evidence on the potential of traditional games as inclusive and sustainable methods to support Indonesian children’s development. This study used a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) in accordance with PRISMA 2020, looking for articles published between 2015 and 2025 using Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Ten of the 1,222 records that were found satisfied the requirements for inclusion following screening and quality evaluation using the JBI checklist. Research demonstrates that games like engklek, gobak sodor, bentengan, congklak, and bekel regularly improve hand-eye coordination, muscular strength, agility, balance, and coordination. Significant improvements were seen in both the gross and fine motor domains throughout interventions spanning 4–8 weeks with two–three weekly sessions. Additionally, traditional games promote sensorimotor learning, social interaction, and intrinsic drive. Traditional games are an efficient, affordable, and culturally appropriate way to assist preschool motor development, despite the fact that many studies used quasi-experimental techniques with small sample sizes. These findings offer compelling evidence for its incorporation into national curricular efforts and early childhood education practices.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of introvert students in the fourth grade of elementary school. The type of research used in this is a case study. The research subjects studied were from the findings of information with class teachers, namely introvert students' learning outcomes in the attitude aspect that is not visible during the learning process. Data collection using non-test instruments in the form of observations using checklists, was carried out to obtain data on learning outcomes in the learning process, then interviews were conducted with teachers and introvert students, supported by video documentation. The results of the study found that stimuli in the form of attention, guidance, and support from teachers succeeded in fostering motivation to participate in learning activities for introvert students. Both in terms of social interaction, courage to take risks, in terms of depth of thinking, as well as in aspects of students' attitudes towards the subject matter based on the narrative of inner impulses. In the aspect of students' attitudes towards values or norms related to the subject matter and in expressing feelings, introvert students do learning predominantly through writing, teachers provide opportunities for introvert students to be involved in learning with what introvert students do. Emotional support, support for appreciation, and support for information are important for introvert students in elementary school.
