Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 is a metabolic disorder condition characterized by hyperglycemia, due to decreased insulin secretion. Many cytokines play a role in the acute phase response, so that markers such as CRP increase in patients with type 2 DM. The type of research used in this study is descriptive research, which describes the results of CRP examination in patients with type 2 diabetes. Examination of respondents' serum C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels was carried out qualitatively using the Latex Agglutination method and followed by a semi-quantitative method, namely dilution to determine the level of inflammation. The results of CRP examination on 30 serum samples that have been carried out on patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus found that 29 (96.7%) were positive and 1 (3.3%) of respondents were negative. The group of CRP levels for titer 12 was 5 samples (16.7%), titer 24 was 17 samples (56.7%), titer 48 was 5 samples (16.7%), and titer 96 was 2 samples (6.7). %). The results of the four groups with the highest CRP levels, namely a titer of 24 mg/L as many as 17 samples (56.7%) showed that some of the CRP levels were higher than normal. Conclusion Almost all respondents with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus had positive C-Reactive Protein examination results and a small proportion of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients had negative C-Reactive Protein examination results.

Abstract

Making durable preparations includes a fixation process using 10% KOH, dehydration, clearing and mounting. Clearing aims to make the morphological structure of a sample or object appear clearer, more transparent and clearer. In this research, the solution used was xylol solution and eucalyptus oil. Xylol is a solution that is not environmentally friendly, because it comes from petroleum or liquid asphalt. Meanwhile, eucalyptus oil is a solution obtained from the distillation of eucalyptus leaves which is environmentally friendly and easy to obtain and has non-polar properties which can remove residues in paraffin in preparations, so it can be used as a substitute for xylol. This research aims to describe the quality of preserved Ctenocephalides canis preparations in the clearing process using xylol and eucalyptus oil. The samples in this study were 24 adult Ctenocephalides canis. The results of the study showed that the durable preparations using xylol received 4 good preparations, 5 fairly good preparations, and 3 poor preparations. Meanwhile, the results of durable preparations using eucalyptus oil were 5 good preparations, 6 quite good preparations, and 1 bad preparation. So it can be concluded that making permanent preserved preparations for Ctenocephalides canis is better using eucalyptus oil compared to xylol.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance. The state of diabetes affects the metabolism of proteins in the body, one of which is albumin This study aims to determine the relationship between Albumin Levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Prasetya Husada Hospital. Methods: quantitative descriptive with a sample of all medical record data as many as 70 patients. Results: relationship between the value of albumin levels and the severity of diabetics Analysis: a significant correlation between albumin levels and the severityof diabetes mellitus, the relationship between these two variables is negative with the degree of relationship that is moderate correlation. (p< 0.00; r = - 0.506). Discussion: The Albumin levels in Diabetes Mellitus sufferers are described based on age, length of diagnosis, and severity, obtaining significant results between the severity of Diabetes Mellitus and the Albumin levels which are correlated or related.

Abstract

Background: Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus that can lead to hepatocellular damage. Liver enzyme tests, namely Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) and Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT), are used as important indicators in assessing the degree of liver damage. Objective: This study aimed to describe the levels of SGOT and SGPT in hepatitis B patients at Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu Malang, during the period of January–December 2024. Methods: This research employed a quantitative descriptive method using secondary data from medical records of 39 patients. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate approaches. Results: The results showed that elevated SGOT levels were found in 35 patients (89.7%), while normal levels were observed in 4 patients (10.3%). Elevated SGPT levels were observed in 27 patients (69.2%), while 12 patients (30.8%) had normal levels. Based on sex, elevated SGOT levels were more prevalent in males (23 patients, 95.8%) compared to females (12 patients, 80.0%), while elevated SGPT levels were also dominant in males (20 patients, 83.3%) compared to females (7 patients, 46.7%). Based on age groups, the highest elevated SGOT levels were found in adults (22 patients, 91.7%), followed by adolescents (7 patients, 87.5%) and elderly (6 patients, 85.7%). Correlation test results showed a coefficient value of r = 0.380 with p = 0.017 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the majority of hepatitis B patients experienced elevated SGOT and SGPT levels, with predominance among adult males, and there was a significant correlation between the two liver enzymes.
