Abstract

This research aims to find out how high the level of bacterial contamination found in broiler chicken meat sold at the Bauntung Market, Banjarbaru. The method used in this research is the sampling method to determine the sample using the random sampling method used to determine the experimental test sample. This sampling was carried out for three days at 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM. The variables observed in this study were physical observation, the number of bacteria (TPC), and the type of bacteria. The data obtained were then performed a t-test (paired samples test) using a variety of SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) program analysis 18. Laboratory analysis was carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University. The results obtained indicate that there are significant differences in Sig. (2-tailed) (<0.05) between the collection times of the number of bacteria, so it can be concluded that the average level of bacterial contamination at the time of collection at 07.00 am lower than at 10:00 noon. Which is 2.13 x 109 cfu / g and 5.81 x 109 cfu / g. The whole sample taken at 07.00 am did not exceed the threshold, while taken at 10:00 noon had exceeded the threshold required by SNI. Bacterial contaminants that grow on EMBA and SSA media include Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., Citrobacter, Shigella sp., Salmonella sp., and Providencia.

Abstract

Alabio duck is a superior laying duck breed from Alabio, South Kalimantan. The government program of crossing Alabio duck with other duck breeds to produce commercial hybrid ducks was followed by local breeders, where the crossbreed was carried out without direction and occurred in the genetic source area of Alabio ducks. This has resulted in a decrease in the performance of Alabio duck, a fewer number of duck breeders, and reduce the quality of processed products,  especially salted eggs. To conserve and maintain the purity of Alabio ducks in their genetic source area, it is necessary to educate local breeders about the potential of Alabio ducks as a source of germplasm with high selling value. The objective of this activity was to educate the breeders to avoid uncontrolled crossbreeding of Alabio duck. This community service was carried out through observations, interviews, and Focus Group Discussion in Harapan Bahagia Farmer Group in Murung Asam Village, Alabio, HSU Regency. Issues identification showed that the decline in Alabio ducks population was caused by the unavailability of good Alabio ducklings, the higher price of Alabio duck compared to other duck breeds and the smaller egg size of Alabio duck. However, it was agreed on the superiority of Alabio duck, namely resistance to avian influenza disease, longer egg shelf life, longer egg production period, and a more savory taste of meat. It was concluded that conserving Alabio duck breed was necessary because Alabio ducks were always used as parents in crossing with other duck breeds. Many ways could be carried out to conserve Alabio duck, among others were by well-planned and under control crossbreeding, eliminating subsidies of hybrid ducklings produced by BPTU, utilizing local feed ingredients, and technology adoption to increase the quality of Alabio duck products. --- Itik Alabio merupakan itik petelur unggul yang berasal dari Alabio, Kalimantan Selatan. Program pemerintah menyilangkan itik Alabio dengan rumpun itik lain untuk menghasilkan itik hibrida komersial ternyata diikuti oleh  peternak, di mana peternak melakukan persilangan secara tidak terarah, tidak terencana dan   dilakukan di  daerah sumber bibit itik Alabio.  Hal ini berakibat menurunnya mutu bibit itik, semakin sedikitnya jumlah peternak itik Alabio, serta menurunnya kualitas produk itik Alabio, terutama telur asin.  Untuk menjaga kelestarian dan tetap terpeliharanya kemurnian itik Alabio di daerah sumber bibit, maka perlu dilakukan edukasi kepada peternak  mengenai potensi itik Alabio sebagai sumber plasma nutfah lokal yang bernilai jual tinggi. Tujuan kegiatan  iniadalah melakukan edukasi peternak agar tidak melakukan persilangan itik Alabio secara tidak terkontrol dan tidak terencana sehingga kemurnian genetik itik alabio dapat dipertahankan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan Focus Group Discussion dengan Kelompok Peternak Itik Harapan Bahagia di Desa Murung Asam, Alabio, Kabupaten HSU. Identifikasi isu memperlihatkan bahwa berkurangnya populasi itik Alabio disebabkan tidak tersedianya bibit yang baik, harga bibit itik Alabio lebih mahal dibanding rumpun itik lain, serta ukuran telur yang lebih kecil. Meskipun demikian diketahui juga keunggulan itik Alabio, yaitu tahan terhadap penyakit flu burung, daya simpan telur lebih lama, masa produksi telur lebih panjang dan rasa daging yang lebih gurih. Disimpulkan bahwa menjaga kemurnian itik Alabio murni sangatlah penting karena itik Alabio selalu dipergunakan sebagai tetua dalam persilangan dengan rumpun itik lain. Upaya pelestarian itik Alabio dapat dilakukan antara lain dengan penghapusan subsidi harga bibit itik hibrida yang dihasilkan BPTU, penggunaan bahan pakan lokal dalam ransum, serta adopsi teknologi untuk peningkatan kualitas produk itik Alabio.

Abstract

Abstrak: Ubi Alabio atau uwi (Dioscorea alata L) merupakan tanaman pangan lokal jenis umbi-umbian yang potensial yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pangan alternative dan pangan fungsional. Ubi Alabio mengandung karbohidrat dan protein tinggi tetapi kadar gula rendah. Selain itu beberapa penelitian menyebutkan beberapa manfaat kesehatan ubi Alabio. Namun pemanfaatan ubi Alabio selama ini masih terbatas, biasanya masyarakat mengkonsumsi ubi Alabio hanya dengan menggoreng, merebus/mengukus, atau sebagai campuran dalam sayur. Padahal ubi Alabio dapat diolah menjadi beberapa produk olahan yang lebih menarik dan disukai masyarakat. seperti brownies, roti kukus dan kue kering. Oleh karena itu perlu dikenalkan diversifikasi produk olahan ubi Alabio melalui kegiatan pelatihan kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di desa Murung Asam, Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberi pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada mitra tentang nilai gizi, manfaat kesehatan dan diversifikasi pengolahan ubi Alabio kepada masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa 90% peserta memahami materi yang telah disampaikan dan terampil dalam pengolahan ubi Alabio. Peserta juga sangat puas dengan hasil pelatihan, karena produk olahan ubi Alabio rasanya enak, bergizi dan tampilan produk menarik. Abstract : Ubi Alabio or Uwi (Dioscorea alata L) is a potential local tubers crop that could be used as alternative and functional food. Ubi Alabio contains high carbohydrate and protein but low sugar. Beside that few researches showed some health benefits on ubi Alabio. However ubi Alabio is underutilized which showed with locals just used few methods to consume ubi Alabio such as: fried, boiled or soup ingredient. Even though ubi Alabio could be processed into some product that more interesting for people like brownies, steamed bun and cookies. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce the diversification of processed ubi Alabio products through training activities to the local communities where held in the village of Murung Asam. The purpose of the activity is to provide knowledge and skills to participants about nutrition, health benefit and diversification of processing of ubi Alabio for local communities. The result showed 90% participants understand the subject and already skilled in processing ubi Alabio. Participants were also very satisfied with the results because of the processed product is tasty, nutritious and appealing.

Abstract

Mitra dalam program pengabdian ini adalah Ustaz dan santri Pondok Mu’adalah Ala Gontor An-Najah Cindai Alus Tungkaran Martapura. Program kemitraan masyarakat ini bertujuan mengenalkan dan memberikan keterampilan kepada ustaz dan santri bagaimana cara: 1) budidaya ikan nila kolam terpal 2) Merubah mindset ustaz dan santri supaya perduli pada bidang perikanan dan yang paling penting, 3) Menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan pada santri sejak dini. Kolam terpal dengan berbagai keunggulannya merupakan wadah yang cocok untuk pembesaran ikan nila, adapun keunggulan yang dimiliki kolam terpal antaralain mudah di pindahkan, keramahan terhadap konstruksi tanah, mudah membersihkan kolam dan pemanenan ikan, yang paling penting sesuai dengan karakteristik ikan nila. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mencakup kunjungan lapangan (survei), penyuluhan, pelatihan, evaluasi, dan pemantauan pasca penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dapat disimpulkan tercapainya transfer pengetahuan dan pemahaman teknis budidaya oleh mitra mengenai model dan konsep metode aplikasi teknologi budidaya ikan nila dalam kolam terpal relatif berjalan dengan baik dan mitra telah mengenal dan mampu membuat kolam terpal sesuai dengan desain yang sudah ada. Bahkan ada ustaz sudah mencoba membangun sendiri kolam terpal di rumahnya, indikasi tentang penerimaan dan keterbukaan para ustaz dan santri terhadap penerapan teknologi yang relatif baru untuk mereka cukup memuaskan.

Abstract

Research on the phenotype characteristics of Alabio Ducks (Anas Platyrhynchos Borneo) in South Kalimantan was conducted to determine the phenotypic characteristics of 3 central  Alabio ducks (Hulu Sungai Utara, Banjar and Tabalong Regencies). The materials used in this study were 480 Alabio ducks, aged ± 6 months, consisting of 30 males and 450 females. The method used in this research was a survey method that was multistage random sampling. The variables observed were dominancy and pattern colors of feathers on neck, breast, back, wing, leg, and tail, beak color and shank color. Based on the results of observations in the Tabalong, HSU and Banjar Regencies, the results show that Alabio ducks have 6 kinds of colors that appear on observed body parts, namely black, grayish-white, blackish-gray, brownish-gray, brown, brownish-white, black, and brownish-white, light-brown spots or dark brown spots on breast feather. The colors of the beak and shank of male and female Alabio ducks are light-yellow or whitish yellow. While the uniform color characteristics are found in male and female Alabio ducks, namely on the grayish-white neck feathers, blackish gray and bluish green on wing feathers, blackish and brownish gray on back-feathers, brownish and black gray on tail-feathers and brownish-white, light brown spots. or dark brown spots on breast-feather. In conclusion, there are not many differences in both the dominant feather color, the variation in the color of the feathers, the beak, the shank of the Alabio ducks, since most of them come from the similar ancestors.

Abstract

The study aimed to find out whether Pasteurella multocida bacteria isolated from buffalo in HSU (Hulu Sungai Utara) is the cause of SE (Septicema  epizootica) disease in swamp buffaloes using Koch Postulates. Total of 10 Balb-C mice aged 2 weeks were infected with 100 μl culture containing 4 x 108 CFU (1.5 McFarland Scale) P. multocida subcutaneously in the neck , and observed every 4 hours until the animal died. Samples were taken from the spleen, lungs, and heart with different times of death within 15 hours, 35 hours, and 59 hours with sterile swab cotton. Samples were grown on a nutrient broth medium (NB), inoculated on a soy trypticase agar (TSA), and incubated for 24 hours at 37 ° C. Separate colonies were stained with Gram and spore staining. The colonies were tested by catalase, biochemical, indol motility (SIM) sulfite, confectionary, and planted on Mac Conkey Agar media. P. multocida was identified following Carter's method of showing lung, spleen, and positively infected P. multocida samples. It was concluded that P. multocida bacteria isolated from buffalo in HSU are pathogenic and can cause SE disease.

Abstract

Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) salah satu ikan yang dapat dibudidayakan dengan waktu relatif singkat 3 - 5 bulan, serta menguntungkan bagi yang melakukannya. Tingginya permintaan konsumen ikan nila membuka peluang kepada setiap orang untuk dapat melakukan usaha ini, tidak terkecuali santri pesantren. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengedukasi santri untuk lebih mengenal cara budidaya ikan nila di kolam terpal. Kegiatan berlangsung dari bulan Juni sampai bulan September 2023, lokasi di pesantren Al Quran Darul Inqilabi Desa Sungai Besar Kecamatan Karang Intan Kabupaten Banjar, dengan 20 orang peserta santri laki-laki. Pendekatan pemberdayaan meliputi sosialisasi, identifikasi lokasi dan inventarisasi, verifikasi, penyaluran paket bantuan, pemanfaatan paket bantuan, pendampingan (pembuatan kolam terpal), monitoring dan evaluasi (pembagian kuesioner) dan Pelaporan. Berdasarkan kuesioner, rata-rata lebih dari 70% peserta menyatakan bahwa mereka setuju jika dikatakan termotivasi untuk mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian, materi dan praktik mudah dipahami dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan, metode dan sarana pengabdian sudah tepat, selain itu mereka menyatakan setuju untuk diadakan kegiatan lanjutan dari program yang telah diselenggarakan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan telah berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas kemampuan santri dalam penglolaan usaha budidaya ikan nila dalam kolam terpal, namun di lapangan mulai pemeliharaan ikan nila sampai dengan panen perlu pendampingan secara intensif bagi santri karena merupakan pemula

Abstract

This research was conducted at Mr. Mahmuddin's broiler farm located in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency. The research began in January to May of 2024. This research aims to study the income level of broiler chicken business with a partnership pattern and to determine the feasibility of broiler chicken business with a partnership pattern on Mahmuddin Farm in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency. The components used in evaluating business feasibility include production costs, revenue, and business income obtained from broiler farming. Parameters measured are using cost benefit analysis indicators which include: R/C Ratio, B/C Ratio, BEP, and Performance Index (IP) parameters. The results showed that the feasibility analysis of a broiler livestock business with a business scale of 41,165 heads for four periods was profitable as an agribusiness-oriented business where the profit earned was Rp. 60,996,439 in four periods, and feasible to develop with a value of R / C ratio of 1,06 and B / C ratio of 0.06. BEP analysis shows that the amount of production is higher than the production BEP value (Production>BEP Production) which is 58,195.01 kg for 4 periods and the price BEP is still lower than the set at Rp. 23,408-/kg so that it has met the empirical standards in the break-even analysis calculation. As for the assessment using the Performance Index (IP) parameter in the first period is 547, second 269, third 550, and in the last period 888. This shows that Mr. Mahmuddin's broiler farm business located in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency is feasible to continue or develop.
