Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a pain that is felt during menstruation. Primary dysmenorrhea is caused by increased levels of prostaglandins (PGF2?) which are produced by the lining cells of the uterus. This study aims to determine the effect of giving turmeric acid decoction to reduce dysmenorrhea pain scale in adolescents at SMA Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang. This study used a quasy experimental research design with the one group pretest posttest design method. The population in this study were adolescents in class X and XI SMA Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang, consisting of 186 people. The number of samples in this study were 18 people using a stratified random sampling technique. The instruments in this study were ½ kg of turmeric, ¼ kg of palm sugar, ½ kg of tamarind, 2000 cc of water, salt, digital scales, blender, measuring cup and filter. The results of statistical tests using the Paired T-test showed a P value of 0.001 (P <0.05), meaning that there was an effect of boiling turmeric acid on reducing the pain scale of dysmenorrhea in adolescents. Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that nurses can provide interventions for treating dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving ginger decoction to reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertensives. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post test without control group design. The population in this study were elderly people who suffer from hypertension in RT 07 Wijaya Kusuma, West Jakarta. The number of samples in this study were 22 people using the total sampling technique. The instruments in this study were 4gr ginger, 200cc water, digital scales, honey, knife, measuring cup, and digital tensimeter (automatic). The research results showed that the average systolic blood pressure at the first measurement (pre test) was 141.32 mmHg with a standard deviation of 10.242. In the last measurement (Post Test) the average systolic blood pressure was 132.59 mmHg with a standard deviation of 3.912 while the average diastolic blood pressure in the first measurement (Pre Test) was 94.27 mmHg with a standard deviation of 10.416 and in the last measurement (Post Test) was 81.55 mmHg with a standard deviation of 7.614. Statistical analysis using the paired t-test showed p value = 0.001 so it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving ginger decoction to reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertensives. Based on the results of the study, nurses are expected to be able to provide interventions to address hypertension problems by administering ginger decoction which can lower blood pressure on an ongoing basis without significant side effects and can be used as traditional medicine in patients with hypertension.

Abstract

Anemia is defined as a condition when there is a decrease in hemoglobin and or the number of red blood cells from normal so that there are not enough red blood cells to meet a person's physiological needs. Anemia in adolescents can be influenced by the level of knowledge and attitude towards anemia prevention. This study aims to determine the effect of anemia monopoly educational game (GEMA) on the level of knowledge and preventive attitudes of adolescent girls at SMK South Jakarta. This study used a pre-eksperimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study were adolescent girls at SMK South Jakarta with a total sample size of 96 respondents using the Cluster Sampling technique. The research instruments used questionnaires, Monopoly Anemia Educational Game SOP, easy touch tools, and Hb observation sheets. The statistical test used was the Paired T-Test test. The results of the analysis test showed that there was a relationship between the Monopoly Anemia Educational Game (GEMA) and the increase in knowledge of adolescent girls at SMK South Jakarta with a p-value of 0.00 (α<0.05). There is a relationship between Monopoly Anemia Educational Game (GEMA) with an increase in the prevention attitude of adolescent girls in South Jakarta Vocational High School with a p-value of 0.00 (α<0.05). Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that there will be a development of more innovative learning methods regarding education using anemia monopoly.
