Abstract

The Importance of Stimulating Motor Skills as a Supporting Factor in Early Childhood Language Development, Particularly in Enhancing Articulation Ability. Many children aged 5–6 years still experience difficulties in pronouncing words clearly; therefore, a fun, meaningful learning method that involves motor activities is needed. The purpose of this study is to examine the stimulation of motor skills through bakiak (traditional clog) games to improve the articulation ability of children aged 5–6 years at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Samarinda, as well as to identify the forms of articulation improvement after participating in the activity. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with children aged 5–6 years as subjects, focusing on motor skill stimulation in improving articulation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that motor skill stimulation through bakiak games effectively enhances children’s articulation abilities. The stimulation activities include playing bakiak four times a week for three months, which led to improved coordination between the central nervous system, muscles, and body organs. Children became more focused in coordinating body movements with word pronunciation, more confident in speaking, and able to articulate letters and syllables clearly. In addition, the bakiak game also fosters self-confidence, cooperation, and creates an enjoyable learning atmosphere. In conclusion, the bakiak game can serve as an innovative learning medium that stimulates motor skills while simultaneously improving early childhood articulation through a harmonious combination of motor and language aspects.

Abstract

Parental parenting patterns are very important for children and have an impact that lasts into adulthood. Parents need to choose appropriate parenting styles so that children develop good social-emotional behavior. This study aims to find out: (1) How are parental parenting patterns applied at Melati Kindergarten in developing children’s social-emotional skills? (2) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of children’s social-emotional skills at Melati Kindergarten? This researchuses a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at Melati Kindergarten. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that of the six parents interviewed, three used a permissive parenting style, one used a democratic parenting style, and two used an authoritarian parenting style. Children raisedwith a permissive style tend to be less disciplined, have difficulty regulating themselves, and are not accustomed to following rules. These permissive children tend to be immature and lack self-control. Children raised with a democratic style grow up confident, independent, able to control emotions, and cooperate easily. However, children raised with an authoritarian style tend to be more fearful, less confident, and undisciplined. Regarding supporting and inhibiting factors, internal factors includeparents’ lack of attention, which causes psychological pressure that impacts the child’s mental development. Parents’ busyness results in less support for social-emotional development, causing children to be less responsive to their environment. Poornutrition affects growth and development, making children less focused, easily angered, and fussy. External factors include the surrounding environment, as children adapt to their social environment. Children are excellent imitators.

Abstract

The program to enhance the competencies of educators and educational personnel in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) through a partnership scheme in the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) represents a strategic initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology aimed at preparing PAUD institutions to become learning organizations capable of serving as disseminating partners for surrounding PAUD units. This study aims to analyze the impact of the partnership program on improving the competencies of PAUD educators and heads of institutions, as well as to identify the impacts perceived by parents through an exploration of the perspectives of teachers, parents, and children. This study employed an evaluative research design using the Responsive Stake Evaluation Model, which emphasizes the components of antecedents, transactions, and outcomes. Research participants were selected through purposive sampling, involving heads of PAUD institutions, educators, parents, and children across six sub-districts in the IKN area, covering Penajam Paser Utara Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings indicate that the partnership program had a significant impact on enhancing the competencies of PAUD educators, particularly in fostering reflective teaching practices, implementing learning strategies aligned with the characteristics of early childhood learners, and developing participatory learning environments. Educators demonstrated a paradigm shift toward child-centered, contextual, and inclusive learning. In addition, the competencies of PAUD heads were also strengthened, especially in the development of participatory learning environments and collaborative, reflective instructional leadership. The program’s impact was also perceived by parents through increased involvement in the learning process and improved communication with schools, which contributed to more optimal child development. The success of the program was supported by synergy among partner PAUD institutions, facilitators, local governments, higher education institutions, and the Teacher Development Center (Balai Guru Penggerak), positioning the partnership program as a sustainable model for PAUD competency development in the IKN region.
