Abstract

English as an international language is widely spoken by many people around the world. There are billions of people who use English as their first, second, and foreign language. This library research aims to discover the importance of English as an International Language (EIL) in global communication and broadcasting. Using recent statistical data, theory, and journals, the researcher seekS the information on the importance of EIL for communication and broadcasting field. Those instruments are fully described qualitatively. As the result, the researcher found that the relationship of English proficiency with the communication and broadcasting field is inevitable. Using English, obtaining, sharing, and spreading information, ideas, and opinions will be easier and reach many more people as the main purpose of communicating and broadcasting.

Abstract

Keterbatasan jumlah dan sebaran stasiun hujan menjadi kendala dalam penyediaan data curah hujan untuk pemodelan hidrologi. Data satelit Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station Data (CHIRPS) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif, namun memerlukan koreksi bias sebelum digunakan sebagai masukan model. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kinerja data CHIRPS, menerapkan metode koreksi bias Linear Scaling, serta mengkaji pemanfaatannya pada model HEC-HMS di Sub-DAS Welang Hulu, Kabupaten Pasuruan. Data penelitian meliputi curah hujan observasi tiga stasiun, data CHIRPS, dan debit observasi AWLR Purwodadi periode 2005–2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor koreksi harian lebih efektif dibandingkan faktor koreksi bulanan dengan nilai NSE 0,737, r 0,869, dan RSR 0,513. Kalibrasi HEC-HMS meningkatkan nilai NSE dari −0,37 menjadi 0,37. Setelah dilakukan analisis outlier menggunakan metode Interquartile Range (IQR), hasil evaluasi meningkat dengan NSE 0,50, r 0,730, RSR 0,70, PBIAS −0,74%, dan MKGE 0,721. Penerapan faktor koreksi harian dan metode IQR mampu meningkatkan representativitas evaluasi model HEC-HMS.
