Abstract

The main focus of this article is criticizing the role of today’s belief and religion in the context of human relationship. Belief and religion sociologically were people’s creations to perform the influence of such a supernatural power and domination over human’s life. Over centuries, religious beliefs and people’s convictions have inspired and illuminated many people of any civilizations to pursue or gain some values, ideas and truth through their special way of living by creating laws, rules, scriptures and any traditions specified to them. At the same time, world’s history have clearly noted the two paradoxal sides of belief and religion. In one side, belief and religion offer values, ideas, laws and norms to order human’s life to have a good religious life. But in the other side, they showed a long story of cruelties, wars, bloodshed and any radical movements on behalf of any religions or religious sects. This writing is meant to describe more obviously these “two opposite faces” of belief and religion and gave an offer to readers to make a self reflection and then take a proper and objective way of thinking by regarding to some tragic events like WTC tragedy in US seventeen years ago (2001) or to any other like event that happened surround us recently. Conclusively, we might see that for men or women, religion and belief could stand in any way as a “problem solving” or “problem sourcing”. They were hoped and suggested to offer or create peacefullness, charity and well being conditions, but in any way they become also a source or ignition of wars, cruelties and social revolution that seemed to have no end until now.

Abstract

This research was aimed to explore the influence of appreciating Pancasila’s values to the attitude of religious moderation among students in SMA Negeri 1 Tomohon. This research was carried on April 2022 in SMA Negeri 1 Tomohon. Primary data was collected through questionnaires to 57 students of the school. The method of this research was quantitative using descriptive statistics. Three hypotheses were tested by multiple linear regresseion analysis. The result of this study showed that three hypotheses were proven to have correlation significantly. It was proven by the result of statistical account through simple linear regression analysis. So the main conclusion of this research was to find significant correlation between the appreciation of Pancasila’s values (x variable) and the attitude of religious moderation (y variable).

Abstract

Acts of intolerance that often occur trigger a lack of respect between religious communities. This encourages researchers to find out how the understanding and appreciation of religious tolerance from religious leaders in the Tumatangtang Village, South Tomohon District, Tomohon City, as well as the efforts that can be made to help increase the understanding and appreciation of this religious tolerance. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation studies. The data sources in this study were religious figures in the Tumatangtang Village. The results of the study show that religious tolerance as an attitude of accepting differences in the midst of diversity of religions and beliefs and is an act of respect and respect between adherents of religions, has been well understood. The appreciation of religious tolerance is seen as an obligation and becomes a lifestyle that is realized through concrete actions such as helping each other, accepting, appreciating, spreading love and care for others in order to form inter-religious harmony. Efforts that can be implemented to help increase the understanding and appreciation of religious leaders regarding religious tolerance are building inter-religious dialogue, building open cooperation with other religions, being actively involved in joint activities between religious communities and efforts to form interfaith organizations to know each other and be open with the teachings of faith from other religions or beliefs.

Abstract

Interest in learning is one of the main things that can support the learning process. In fact, there are still many students who feel bored with learning and are bored because the way of learning is still conventional. This relates to the curriculum used by schools because one of the supporting factors for increasing student interest in learning is the curriculum. This research was conducted at St. Francis Xavier Seminary Kakaskasen High School, to find out how the implementation of the Free Learning Curriculum for Increasing Student Interest in Class X, supporting and inhibiting factors and efforts to increase student learning interest in implementing the Free Learning Curriculum. The type of method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The research results obtained are that the Free Learning Curriculum has been implemented in the Catholic High School Seminary of St. Francis Xavier Kakaskasen. In addition, there are supporting factors such as availability platform independent teaching, the existence of IHT activities or outreach, and inhibiting factors such as lack of internet access and computer room and inadequate infrastructure. As for the efforts made by the school, namely carrying out mock study activities for teachers at SMA N 8 Manado, teachers must be more creative in the learning process, and regarding the provision of infrastructure. Thus conclusions can be drawn including: First, the Free Learning Curriculum has been implemented in Seminary High Schools which is marked by the existence of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project activity. Second, there are factors that influence the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum for the sake of increasing student learning interest which are described in supporting and inhibiting factors. Third, the efforts made by the school are carrying out replicated studies at other schools regarding the Free Learning Curriculum, the way teachers create fun learning, and the provision of supportive school facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on cognitive learning achievement. This research was conducted at Don Bosco Catholic High School Bitung. The respondents in this study were X and XI-grade students. The research method used is the quantitative research method. Techniques in sampling using sampling techniques with the Slovin formula. The entire research sample totaled 130 students. The research instrument used is a questionnaire with alternative answers: Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree. This study uses descriptive statistical analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that Self-Efficacy had a calculated coefficient data result of 0.95 with a very good category and Cognitive Learning Achievement obtained a calculated coefficient of 0.68 with a good category. The results that have been found show that there is an effect of Self-Efficacy on Cognitive Learning Achievement at Don Bosco Bitung Catholic High School. It is said to be influential because the results obtained are the results of the coefficient of determination of 0.502. From this result by looking at the coefficient interval, it is categorized as moderate. From this explanation, it can be concluded that the effect obtained by 50% is categorized as strong and 50% is influenced by other factors, so the higher the student's self-efficacy, the more student learning achievement will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of principal leadership on teacher performance at Rex Mundi Catholic High School Manado, and to determine whether or not there is an influence between principal leadership on teacher performance at Rex Mundi Catholic High School Manado. The research method used is a quantitative research method that aims to determine whether there is an influence or relationship between variable x and variable y, or vice versa. The research sample consisted of 40 respondents, obtained using saturated samples. Validity and reliability tests were carried out using IBM SPSS 25 for windows and all questionnaire items distributed were declared valid and reliable. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between variable x and variable y with a correlation coefficient of determination of 0.415 with a percentage of 41.5%. This shows that there is an influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable with a contribution of 41.5% and the remaining 58.5% is influenced by other factors

Abstract

The main focus of this simple papers was intended to briefly describe the nature of the role and exsistence of religions in developing the Integrated State of the Republic of Indonesia through these three perspectives: 1) philosophy (nature or essence of religion in the context of philosophy), 2). Socio-politics (role of religion in the context of social life and its influence to legacy of the public policy. 3). Ethics and morality (role of religion in grounding and constructing the values of Indonesian’s nation-state). The last section of this papers would be the conclusion about the actualization of religious life in Indonesia by which we used the terms of being religion as a ‘gift or blessing for all mankind’.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bermaksud mengetahui besarnya pengaruh nilai moderasi beragama dan akseptasi religius terhadap kerukunan umat beragama pada masyarakat Katolik di Kota Manado. Metode yang digunakan yakni metode penelitian kuantitatif-deskriptif untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh dan tingkat signifikan dengan teknik analisis regresi-korelasi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang cukup baik dan signifikan dari variabel moderasi beragama terhadap kerukunan umat beragama, dengan hasil Uji T sebesar 6.697 > 1,885 nilai t tabel, dan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0,05. Sedangkan hasil koefisien determinasi (nilai R) adalah 0,717 dan R² sebesar 0,069.  Maka terdapat pengaruh yang baik dan signifikan dari variabel akseptasi religius terhadap aspek kerukunan umat beragama, dengan hasil Uji T sebesar 6,365 > 1,885, dan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0,05. Sedangkan koefisien determinasi (nilai R) adalah 0,747 dan R² sebesar 0,736. Demikian pula secara bersama-sama, moderasi beragama dan akseptasi religius berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kerukunan umat beragama, dengan hasil Uji F sebesar  96,532 > 1,995 dan nilai signifikan sebesar 0.00 < 0,05, sedangkan nilai koefisien R sebesar 0,818 dan nilai R² sebesar 0,680 serta nilai adjusted R² sebesar 0,762.

This study aims to find out how much the strengthening of religious moderation and religious Acceptance have influenced religious harmony in the Catholic community in Bitung City, North Sulawesi Province. The method used in this study is a quantitative research method with a correlative approach because it aims to test hypotheses regarding the magnitude of the influence and whether or not there is a relationship between various variables.
