Abstract

Religion, peace, and human rights are three very important and complex topics. Religion often provides moral guidance, values, and meaning in life for many people. Besides being a source of strength, peace, and solidarity, it can also cause division if differences are not faced with tolerance. Peace is a harmonious state where conflicts are resolved without violence. Peace is often achieved through dialogue, understanding, and cooperation. Human rights are basic principles that guarantee every individual inalienable rights, such as freedom, equality, and dignity. The three are closely interconnected. When human rights are respected and protected, peace is more likely to be achieved, and religion can play a positive role in building a more just and harmonious society. This study aims to reveal a limited picture of the thematic interpretation of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Depag) regarding peace and human rights in its efforts to make religion a source of harmony among people, both nationally and globally. The method used in this study is qualitative, focusing on the thematic interpretation of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Depag) regarding Peace and Human Rights with a text analysis approach. From this study, it was found that the thematic interpretation by Depag provides guidance for its readers to always practice religion moderately so that the peaceful values of Islam can always be embodied in the actions of every Muslim.

Abstract

LAZISMU (Lembaga Amil Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Muhammadiyah) has shown significant performance in poverty alleviation in Indonesia from an Islamic economic perspective. Through transparent and accountable management of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah, LAZISMU is able to distribute targeted assistance to people in need. This research analyzes the performance of LAZISMU (Lembaga Amil Zakat, Infaq, dan Shadaqah Muhammadiyah) in poverty alleviation from an Islamic economic perspective using SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). This method helps identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by LAZISMU in the implementation of its social programs. The results of the analysis show that LAZISMU has strengths in its extensive network and support from the community as well as Muhammadiyah organizations, which gives it legitimacy and high trust. However, weaknesses such as limited human resources and non-optimal management are still a challenge. Great opportunities lie in the increasing public awareness of the importance of zakat and infaq, as well as government support in the economic empowerment of the people. Threats faced include competition with other amil zakat institutions and changes in government policies that may affect LAZISMU's operations. With the right approach and grounded in Islamic economic principles, LAZISMU has great potential to contribute significantly to poverty alleviation in Indonesia

Abstract

Those adherents of liberalism and religious secularism should not enter into personal affairs, it should not be mixed with the study of science at all. People like Karl Mark, Durheim, and Weber became his reference, they all agreed to marginalize religion from modern life. The separation of religion and science seems to be a necessity that is currently inherited and applied in scientific life massively. But now, in today's civilization, the separation between religion and science is considered a mistake. They realize it even though they are still shy about admitting it, in Islam itself, there is no postulate that science is separated from religious science because for Islam the origin of the two is one, that is, the creator. This is what underlies some scientists to see religion with the effectiveness of science and vice versa. In Indonesia, especially some scientists with different backgrounds try to see the Quran from the perspective of scientists they have and try to present the Quran with a logical and rational view to grow and strengthen the faith. This research is qualitative research with analysis texts approach, the primary source of this study is the work of Indonesian scientists and their study of the Quran, and the data taken comes from literature reviews. The results of this study state that even the study of religion and science is not contradictory and appropriate in modern civilization today.

Abstract

Income inequality remains a persistent issue in economic development in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), despite the region's relatively strong economic growth. This study aims to examine the level of income inequality using the Gini Ratio as an indicator, investigate its relationship with the development of district/city minimum wages (UMK) and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth, and analyze it from the perspective of Islamic economics. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach and secondary data obtained from the Statistics Indonesia of Yogyakarta (BPS DIY) for the period 2021–2025, the analysis was conducted through the presentation of tables, graphs, and interpretations based on income distribution theory and Islamic economic principles. The findings indicate that the Gini Ratio in DIY remained within the medium-to-high inequality category throughout the observation period, although it showed a declining trend toward the end of the period. Meanwhile, increases in UMK and GRDP growth have not significantly reduced income inequality. From the perspective of Islamic economics, this condition suggests that the principles of distributive justice (al-'adl), balance (tawazun), and welfare (falah) have not been fully achieved. Therefore, more inclusive development policies and the strengthening of Islamic economic distribution instruments are needed to promote a more equitable distribution of welfare among society.

Abstract

The decline in marriage rates in Indonesia in recent years has become an important social phenomenon to study because it is related to changes in the behavior and life decisions of Generation Z. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the number of marriages in Indonesia has decreased from 2,016,171 events in 2018 to 1,478,302 events in 2024. This phenomenon encourages the need to study the relationship between economic uncertainty, financial anxiety, and the decision to marry from an Islamic economic perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research and descriptive analysis methods. Data were obtained from publications from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), government agency reports, books, and relevant scientific journals. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify factors influencing the decline in marriage rates in Indonesia. The results show that economic uncertainty characterized by high living costs, job instability, and increasing financial demands are the main factors driving Generation Z to delay marriage. These conditions also increase financial anxiety and create the phenomenon of Marriage is Scary, namely the perception that marriage is a decision full of economic and social risks. This study demonstrates that an Islamic economic perspective offers a more comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon by positioning marriage as part of worship, family resilience, and social well-being. The research findings demonstrate that economic, psychological, and spiritual aspects are interconnected in influencing marriage decisions among Generation Z in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article dissects how payment delay within the paylater (Buy Now, Pay Later) ecosystem shifts in function, from a mere credit-risk event into a commercialised revenue stream generated through automated late-fee algorithms. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-critical method and comparative conceptual analysis, the study confronts two epistemologically opposed paradigms, namely the conventional doctrine of the Time Value of Money and the prohibition of riba al-jahiliyyah in Islamic economic law. Secondary data from the peer-to-peer lending fintech industry of the Special Region of Yogyakarta for 2024 to 2025 serve as an empirical proxy, revealing a rise in loan outstanding from IDR 949 billion to IDR 1,363 billion alongside a persistently fluctuating ninety-day default rate (TWP 90) that peaked at 3.31 percent in the second quarter of 2025. The findings indicate that within the conventional framework this default figure becomes fuel for the snowballing late-fee mechanism, whereas the sharia framework, through the instruments of gharamah and ta'wid, separates the disciplining function from the profit function and distinguishes the mu'sir debtor from the mamtul. The article concludes that the commercialisation of delay contradicts the maqasid of hifz al-mal and recommends reallocating late-fee cash flows to social funds as an instrument of consumer protection.
