Abstract

This research analyses the role of figures in the dynamics of internal Islamic conflict, particularly in the case of Ahmadiyah in Lombok. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, data was collected through interviews with representatives of the Ahmadiyah congregation as well as secondary sources such as previous research, NGO reports, and mass media. The data obtained was categorised based on conflict patterns and mass psychology, then analysed using the framework of religious socialisation theory. The results show that important figures in both groups play a vital role as significant others in reducing conflict through three mechanisms: faith strengthening, internal Islamic dialogue, and faith modelling. This internal dialogue is key in finding common ground and managing differences in teachings within one religion. Thus, the presence of figures as mediators plays a strategic role in managing conflict, both in open form and at the doctrinal level.

Abstract

Dowry is a fundamental element in Islamic marriage that has legal, social and philosophical significance. In Islamic law, dowry is an obligation that must be given by the husband to the wife as a form of respect and proof of commitment in marriage. The dowry also serves as a financial protection for women, especially in societies where men are the main breadwinners. From a sociological perspective, dowry reflects social status, gender relations, and cultural norms that develop in society. However, in some cases, the size of the dowry can become an economic burden for the prospective husband and hinder the marriage. From a philosophical perspective, the dowry reflects respect for women's dignity and moral responsibility in marriage. The dowry is not a medium of exchange in the marriage contract, but a manifestation of justice, balance, and respect for rights and obligations in the household. The ideal dowry concept must consider the principles of justice and welfare for both parties, without being an instrument of exploitation or domination. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method to understand the role and meaning of dowry in legal, social and philosophical contexts. The results show that dowry has complex social and moral dimensions, which need to be understood in the context of the culture and dynamics of modern society. Therefore, a more flexible understanding of dowry is needed so that it remains relevant to the times, without losing its essential values in Islam. Legal regulations and social norms related to dowry should be based on the principle of balance, so that marriage can take place with values that support justice, harmony and prosperity for both parties.

Abstract

Deforestation in Indonesia has reached a critical stage and caused a series of ecological disasters, including flash floods on the island of Sumatra that claimed many lives. This study aims to analyse the concept of ecological harmony from the perspective of the Qur'an and formulate principles of ecological piety as a mitigative solution to the deforestation crisis. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach through library research, reinforced by socio-ecological analysis to connect the interpretation of verses with the reality of environmental damage. Primary data was obtained from a direct study of Tafsir al-Azhar by Hamka and Tafsir al-Misbah by Quraish Shihab, while secondary data was obtained from scientific literature related to ecological crises, deforestation, and ecological verses. The results of the study show that the Qur'an, through QS. Ar-Rum: 41, directly links ecological damage to human actions, while QS. Ar-Rahman: 7–9 emphasises the principle of mizan (balance) as a fundamental structure of nature that must be preserved by humans as caliphs. The interpretation of the scholars describes that hypocrisy does not only mean moral corruption, but also includes tangible ecological damage such as pollution, forest degradation, and climate change. Based on these findings, the study formulated six principles of ecological piety: respect for nature, moral responsibility, cosmic solidarity, ecological compassion, ecological justice, and ecological restoration as an ethical framework relevant to responding to the environmental crisis.
