Abstract

This research aims to develop a classification model using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to determine the ripeness and quality of Cavendish bananas. The model classifies bananas into four categories: good quality unripe (MHBS), poor quality unripe (MHBK), good quality ripe (MGBS), and poor quality ripe (MGBK), using a total of 1,000 images. In this study, the classification process of the ripeness and quality of Cavendish bananas was carried out based on automatic feature extraction using CNN,after which an evaluation was carried out using a confusion matrix to assess model performance. The research developed 36 models with variations in parameters such as the number of epochs, batch size, and dataset split. The analysis results indicate that the number of epochs significantly affects the model's accuracy, with an increase in the number of epochs leading to higher accuracy. However, the dataset split scenario and batch size do not have a significant impact on the model's overall accuracy. Evaluation shows that the highest accuracy of 95% was achieved by the model with a 90:10 dataset split, a batch size of 16, and 20 epochs.

Abstract

There are various kinds of products that are included in cosmetic products, namely personal care, make up, fragrance including perfume, hair care, and skincare. Skincare has become one of the primary needs for women in Indonesia today, because skincare can maintain healthy skin. Skincare is a beauty product that is used by users to clean dirt on the face. In deciding to choose skincare products, of course, consumers are influenced by various factors such as skincare quality, brand image, price, and others. In addition, reviews of skincare products are also important as an effort by cosmetic companies to attract consumers' buying interest. One method in deep learning to analyze is the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Sentiment analysis is carried out as an effort to evaluate and determine consumer satisfaction with skincare products as well as materials for service improvement. This study uses the CNN method which in this model has several stages such as data scraping, data preprocessing which consists of data cleansing & case folding, stemming, tokenizing, filtering (stopword removal), labeling process, modeling, and model evaluation. In this study, the data used is scraping data on the Tokopedia website about skincare skintific products. The data will be processed with the CNN model to obtain an accuracy value resulting from the performance of the model.

Abstract

Eye gaze tracking serves as a pivotal instrument in realizing adaptive Human-Centric AI interactions within the Industry 5.0 era. However, current appearance-based gaze estimation methods primarily rely on large-scale end-to-end deep learning regression architectures characterized by high network complexity and computational overhead. This research proposes a hybrid framework integrating the YOLOv8-Pose computer vision model with the Random Forest Classifier machine learning algorithm for the spatial classification of gaze directions. Raw image pixel matrices are efficiently reduced by localizing 55 ocular keypoints, which are subsequently extracted into 113 tabular geometric feature attributes, encompassing Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR) parameters and the relative spatial shifts of the iris. The ensemble model was trained utilizing a synthetic dataset generated via the UnityEyes simulator. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid system achieved a global accuracy of 82.75%. The highest feature space discrimination capabilities were recorded in the TopRight (F1-score 0.91) and MiddleRight (F1-score 0.85) spatial classes. This structured feature engineering approach is empirically proven to effectively mitigate anisotropic classification errors without necessitating high-end computational resources. For further development, future research is directed towards exploring aggressive hyperparameter tuning, meta-heuristic feature selection using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and evaluating the model's robustness limit using real-world datasets in unconstrained open domains.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop a web-based DCM assessment system that helps guidance and counseling teachers process student assessment data systematically and document follow-up needs. Methods – Rapid Application Development was used to create the system. Data were collected from 616 students using a 200-item Problem Checklist across seven domains. DCM scores and predicates were calculated using percentage-threshold rules. SVM was added as a response-pattern classification layer and compared with six other classifiers. The selected SVM model used an RBF kernel, C = 1.0, gamma = scale, one-vs-rest decision function, and probability output.Findings – Support Vector Machine achieved the best aggregate performance, with an accuracy of 0.8871, precision of 0.884993, recall of 0.887097, and F1-score of 0.883355. Usability testing produced a System Usability Scale score of 86.72, while User Acceptance Testing with three guidance and counseling teachers reached a 100% success rate.Research implications – The system combines deterministic DCM scoring and data-driven response-pattern classification to support counselor review of student assessment records and documented follow-up considerations. Because the evaluation used one school, imbalanced labels, and no actual predicate A samples, the model output should be used as a decision-support indicator and not as evidence of improved counseling outcomes, workload reduction, service acceleration, or prioritization accuracy.Originality – This study integrates rule-based DCM scoring, SVM-based response-pattern classification, and a web-based school counseling workflow in the Indonesian secondary school context.
