Abstract

ABSTRAK Daun tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber L) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri karena mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, fenol, tannin, saponin, dan alkaloid, sehingga dapat mengobati penyakit diantaranya demam, malaria, batuk, disentri, dan diare. Pemberian antibakteri ekstrak methanol daun tapak liman merupakan salah satu cara untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui diameter zona hambat (sekeliling daerah tersebut tidak ditumbuhi bakteri) dari ekstrak methanol antibakteri daun tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber L) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental secara Difusi disk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diameter zona hambat ekstrak methanol daun tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber L) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli pada konsentrasi 25% dengan rata-rata zona hambat yaitu 10,6 mm, 50% (15,6mm), 75% (20,3 mm), dan 100% (22,6 mm). Berdasarkan hasil, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak methanol daun tapak liman dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escheria coli yang ditandai dengan adanya zona bening disekitar paper disk. Kata Kunci: difusi disk, daun tapak liman, antibakteri,Escherichia coli ABSTRACT (Elephantopus scaber L) leaves can inhibit the growth of bacteria because they contain secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, phenols, tannins, saponins and alkaloids, so they can treat diseases including fever, malaria, cough, dysentery and diarrhea. Providing antibacterial methanol extract from Tapak Liman leaves is one way to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. The research aims to determine the diameter of the inhibition zone (the area around which bacteria do not grow) of the antibacterial methanol extract of tapak Liman (Elephantopus scaber L) leaves on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria with concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The method used is experimental disk diffusion. The results showed that the diameter of the inhibitory zone of the methanol extract of tapak Liman (Elephantopus scaber L) leaves on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria at a concentration of 25% with an average inhibitory zone of 10.6 mm, 50% (15.6 mm), 75% (20 .3 mm), and 100% (22.6 mm). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the methanol extract of tapak Liman leaves can inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria which is indicated by the presence of a clear zone around the paper disk. Abstract

The utilization of plants as traditional cosmetics has been used by Gayo women in Bener Meriah Regency for generations. The use aims to maintain natural beauty to minimize the use of chemicals that often cause many side effects. Information related to the species of plants used has not been recorded properly, so it is feared that the information will be degraded over time. This study aims to find out about the species of plants used as natural beauty care ingredients by Gayo women in Bener Meriah. This research used an exploratory survey method. Sampling was conducted by snaw ball sampling. Samples included housewives from the Gayo tribe, teenagers, and people who use plants as hair care. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and data were displayed in the form of tables and figures. The results showed that there are 45 species of plants used in the beauty care of Gayo women spread in diverse families. Rutaceae and Poaceae are the families with the most species, totaling 6 species.
