Abstract

Source of information obtained teenagers about reproduction health is pushed the behavior of the teenagers to know more about sexual problem. In line with the era of globalization, information and technology, there is a big change in the sexual behavior of teenagers. Unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortions and an increase in cases of sexually transmitted infections, which is a problem in teenagers reproduction health in Indonesia. The results of research in the program of Muda Berkarya conducted by Yayasan Kita (2005), teenagers of Sabang and some other town in the province of Aceh are likely to be further involved in unsafe sexual behavior. The purpose of this survey study with cross sectional study design is to examine the relationship of reproduction health resources (role of media, role of parents, role of peers) on the sexual behavior of high school students in Sabang. The population of this study are 607 high school students and 113 of them were selected through univariate  proporsional hypothesis test to be the samples for this study and bivariate (Chi square test) with significance level α <0,05 and level of confidence of 95%. The results using Chi square test shows  that significant variables related to sexual behavior are: the role of the media (p = 0.018) role of parents (p = 0.043) and the role of peers (p = 0.014). All of these variables have been associated with sexual behavior. It is suggested that the Department of Health to improve the implementation of outreach programs Teenagers Reproduction Health. With the counseling of students to better understand and care for reproduction health. The Department of Education to improve reproductive health education curriculum, so that students are better able to keep the negative sexual behavior and pornography so that negative interactions can be avoided.

Abstract

Bread is one type of food that is much in demand by the public because of its practical form and has various types of flavors, affordable prices and easy to get. To maintain bread more durable not easy to moldy and not easily damaged often added and abused preservatives such as borax. The research objective is to determine whether or not the borax content of commercial and traditional pillow bread in Blang Pidie District. The method used is qualitative with a flame test and color test using turmeric paper. The results showed that all traditional and commercial pillow breads using the flame test and color test methods of the 9 samples showed no positive results (+), meaning that none contained borax which was negative (-). Based on this study it can be concluded that, obtained in both the flame test and the color test on the content of borax on bread sold in Blang Pidie District all of the samples were negative (-) did not contain borax.

Abstract

Background: Arabica coffee is a plant that is believed to be used as a medicine, namely as a treatment for diabetes and as an immune system. Arabica coffee leaves contain chemical compounds of flavonoids, saponin alkaloids and polyphenols which act as antibacterial. This study, tested the inhibition of the ethanolic extract of arabica coffee leaves (Coffea arabica L.) against the growth of Eschrichia coli bacteria. The aims of this study was to determine the inhibitory ability of the ethanolic extract of arabica coffee leaves on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria with a concentration of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80 % and 100%. Methods: The method used is the disk diffusion. Arabica coffee leaf extract was obtained by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent with Amoxicillin used as a positive control. This research was conducted at the AKAFARMA Laboratory from 18 to 25 June 2020. Result: The results showed that the ethanolic extract of arabica coffee leaves was able to inhibit the Escherichia coli bacteria. With the resulting inhibition zone diameter at concentrations of 20% 10 mm, 40% 12 mm, 60% 13 mm, 80% 14 mm and 100% 17 mm. Recommendation: This test needs to be carried out on other bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans and Stapylococcus aureus and others and it is necessary to test other parts such as flowers, seeds and fruit flesh using different methods.

Abstract

Soy Milk is white-yellow liquid or kind of beverage that produced by home Industry which should shown about its quality and hygienic to prevented from microba. The purpose of this research is to find out the level of Microba contamination from No-Brand Soy Milk that sold in Jaya Baru Banda Aceh. This research conducted in May 7 th – 12 th 2018 at AKAFARMA Laboratory, Banda Aceh. The sample was No-Brand Soy Milk that taken from six different places and analyzed by using Random Sampling. It was a descriptive research and using TPC as the method. The result shown that first LT TPC was 23×106 colony/ml, second E was 49×106 colony/ml, third LD was 86×106 colony/ml, forth B was 28×107 colony/ml, fifth LB was 26×106 colony/ml and the last PBC was 50×105 colony/ml, it can be conclude that the sixth-samples of Soy  Milk that sold In Jaya Baru, Banda Aceh were not eligible to SNI   tandard, No.06.8-7388-2009 that has 5×104 colony/ml as its TPC toward the Soy Milk extrac.

Abstract

Poci tea is a favorite beverage produced by household industry. Considering its hygienic quality so that it is not contaminated by microbes seems to be an important factor. This study aims to determine the level of microbial contamination in Poci tea produced by household retailers in Batoh, Banda Aceh. This study was conducted at the Pharmacy Laboratory, Academy of Pharmacy and Food Analysts (AKAFARMA) Banda Aceh from 8  to 12 June 2020. The method of this study is    a quantitative experimental laboratory with Total Plate Count (TPC). The samples of this study are seven Poci tea  obtained from Batoh retailers selected by random sampling. The results showed that the seven Poci teas samples were contaminated  microbes, i.e ALMK with a TPC value of 4x103 colonies / ml, AMK with a TPC value of 4x103 colonies / ml, HFK with a TPC value of 2x103 colonies / ml, JLM with a TPC value of 3x103 colonies / ml, KUCB with a TPC value of 4x103 colonies / ml, MHFK with a TPC value of 4x103 colonies / ml, and MHZZ with a TPC value of 2x103 colonies / ml. In conclusion, the seven Poci tea samples sold in Batoh have TPC values that are not permitted by the Regulation of the Head of RI POM No. 16 of 2016. Therefore, this poci tea is not recommended for consumption.

Abstract

Water is the main component for producing crystal ice cubes, where the water used should fulfill the drinking water criteria that was not allowed to contain Escherichia coli. This research was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory, AKAFARMA, Banda Aceh. This study aimed to determine the presence of contamination of Escherichia coli bacteria contained in crystal ice cubes. This research used a descriptive method. The results showed that the six samples of crystal ice cubes in the Baiturrahman District restaurant negatively contained Escherichia coli because they did not show colors that match the characteristics of Escherichia coli bacteria.

Abstract

(Impatiens balsamina L.) is an ornamental plant that has been widely developed as a medicinal plant. Secondary metabolites of water henna plant (Impatiens balsamina L.) are known to contain flavonoids. In the field of pharmacology this plant is often used because it has antibacterial agents. This study aimed to determine the inhibitory effect and the optimum antibacterial concentration of the ethanol extract of the leaves of water henna (Impatiens balsamina L.) against the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria with treatment concentrations those are 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. This research was conducted at the Akafarma Microbiology Laboratory in Banda Aceh. The method used was experimental with disk diffusion (disc method). The results showed that in repetition I and II with concentrations of 25%, 50 percent, 75 percent, and 100 percent, the zone of inhibition was obtained respectively those are 23 mm, 26 mm, 29.5 mm, and 31 mm. The optimum result of the ethanol extract of Impatiens balsamina L. leaves in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli is at the concentration of 100% with an inhibition zone diameter of 31 mm.

Abstract

All living things need water, because water is the most important essential material for life. One of the substances in water is iron (Fe). According to Permenkes RI number 492 / MENKES / PER / VI / 2010 levels of iron (Fe) allowed in drinking water is 0.3 mg/L. This study aimed to determine the amount of Fe metal content in PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency (Mon Krueng Meureudu PDAM, Panteraja PDAM, and Ulim PDAM) using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (SSA) method with wet destruction. The results of the analysis of iron content in PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency are PDAM Ulim 0.0628 µg/L, Panteraja PDAM 0.1068 µg/L, and Meureudu PDAM 0.0055 µg/L. In other words, PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency is still at the specified level. It is expected that PDAM Pidie Jaya will continue to maintain the quality of iron (Fe) levels so as not to exceed the maximum levels that have been set.

Abstract

Skabies merupakan salah satu jenis penyakit kulit yang disebabkan oleh tungau (kutu kecil) Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis dengan jumlah kasus mencapai 300 juta per tahun di seluruh dunia. Pondok Pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang menyediakan fasilitas asrama sangat memungkinkan penghuninya rentan tertular penyakit ini dikarenakan pemakaian secara bersama, Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan di Dayah Putri Hidayatullah Lhoknga Aceh Besar yang diikuti oleh 50 orang peserta. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan santriwati mengenai penyakit skabies serta pengenalan tanaman herbal yang dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam pengobatan skabies. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan, pemaparan dan tanya jawab. Hasil kegiatan berjalan dengan baik dan mendapatkan sambutan dan antusiasme dari peserta yang ditandai dengan tingkat kepuasan peserta sebesar 86,5%. Adapun tingkat pengetahuan santriwati tentang penyakit skabies sebesar 100% dan tanaman herbal sebagai alternatif pengobatan skabies sebesar 34,5 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan santriwati Dayah Putri Hidayatullah Lhoknga Aceh Besar tentang penyakit skabies sudah sangat baik, akan tetapi pengetahuan tentang tanaman herbal sebagai obat skabies masih sangat rendah.

Abstract

Abstract. Probiotics bacteria are beneficial microbes to improve microbial balance in the digestive tract. The objective of the research was to isolate and characterize of potential probiotic bacteria in mackerel fish (Rastrelliger sp.). The research was done from April to August 2012 at Laboratory of Microbiology Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. Isolation and characterization used dilution and scratches quadrant methods. The result showed that there were five potential isolates of probiotic bacteria varied morphological colony and cell. The isolate have circular form (100%), entire margin (80%), flat (60%), cream color (40%), gram positive bacteria (80%), coccus shape (100%) and non motile (60%).Keywords: Probiotics, Rastrelliger sp., isolation, digestive and characterization
