Abstract

This thesis departs from the author's awareness and interest in getting to know the lives of Christian believers who are struggling to practice their faith in this world. This thesis describes that Saint Joseph was a saint whose name was familiar to the ears of the faithful. Saint Joseph was god's choice to be entrusted to be the father of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Saint Joseph performed these duties and responsibilities humbly and faithfully to the Lord's commands. The Church then reflected on the life of this Saint Joseph and made him the Protector of the Universal Church, the Protector of the Holy Family of Nazareth, and the Protector of the Workers' Fig. Just as Saint Joseph made his life a servant of God's plan, so too did the faithful realize his calling as a herald of love. The faithful are invited to always see what God wants in a crisis-stricken life, while still trying to find creative ways and efforts to solve all of life's problems. Thus, this example of the primacy of Saint Joseph can lead the faithful to remain faithful to God until they are finally able to achieve eternal unity with God in heavenly happiness.

Abstract

The preparation of this thesis began with the experience and observation of the author who saw and felt for himself various things of concern in catechumenal coaching. Catechumen coaching has not been done optimally, so the results are not optimal. Many catechumens are easily accepted or baptized into the Catholic Church, even though they do not yet have sufficient knowledge and depth of faith. In addition, after being accepted or baptized into the Catholic Church, there is no further formation. Though there are several stages or processes that must be done so that a person has a deep understanding of the Catholic faith before being accepted or baptized. The fault is not with catechumens, but on the part of the Catholic Church itself; Especially catechumens coaches and materials used in coaching. We all expect that a person who is accepted or baptized into the Catholic Church will have a firm faith and dare to bear witness in life.

Abstract

Lay Christian believers are members of the Church who have been united through the sacrament of baptism and are called to take an active part in the life of the Church. Their role is reflected in their participation in Christ's threefold mission: as prophets who proclaim the faith, as priests who participate in the sanctification effort, and as kings who serve others with a spirit of loving service. This thesis specifically examines the rights and obligations of lay people as regulated in the Code of Canon Law, particularly canons 225–226, which emphasize their responsibility in realizing the Church's mission in the world. These rights and obligations form the basis for lay people to play a role in building the mystical body of Christ, while also expanding the proclamation of the Gospel Good News so that more people can experience the grace of salvation. This research uses a literature review method by referring to various theoretical sources, including Church documents, books, scientific journals, and other relevant literature, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the position, role, and contribution of lay people in the dynamics of contemporary Church life.
