Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum annum L.) is one type of chili that has high demand in Tasikmalaya. To fulfill the consumption, cayenne pepper production is needed to be added. This study helps to determine the best dose of NPK fertilizer that can support the growth yield of cayenne pepper, especially in Tasikmalaya. The research was conducted in experimental field of Agriculture Faculty Universitas Perjuangan Tasikmalaya from November 2022 until February 2023. Experimental design used a randomized block degisn of single factor with six treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of no NPK fertilizer, ( ¼ , ½ , ¾ , 1 and 1 ¼ ) doses of NPK fertilizer.  The results showed that NPK fertilizer had an affect on plant hight with 15.6 cm (3 WAP), 20.4 cm (4 WAP), 24,5 (5 WAP), 27,5 (6 WAP) and 29.5 cm (7 WAP).  The highest cumulative yield of cayenne pepper from  1st until 3th harvests with fruit weight plant-1 was the 1 dose NPK treatment of 358,08 g plant-1.

Abstract

Lack of awereness about the use of agriculture waste in increasing soil fertility leading to high use of inorganic fertilizer. Continuous use of inorganic fertilizer can reduce soil fertility in the future. This research aims to determine the impact of providing taro compost fertilizer on soil pH, growth and yield of pak choy In Tasikmalaya. This research was carried out in experimental field of Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Perjuangan Tasikmalaya from October until November 2023. Experimental design used a randomized block design of one factor with six treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of without taro compost fertilizer, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 g/polybag taro compost fertilizer. Reseach results show taro compost fertilizer can increase plant height,  fresh weight of the plant, plant root length,  fresh weight of roots and plant canopy weight. The best treatment was 300 g/polybag with plant height 16,8 cm, fresh weight of plant 55,63 g, plant root length 15,83 cm, fresh weight of roots 8,63 g, and plant canopy weight 47 g compared to control treatment without taro compost fertilizer. However, addition various doses taro compost fertilizer hasn’t effect for soil pH. The conclution of this research is that giving various doses of compost fertilizer can increase the growth and yield of pak choy in Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of appropriate fertilizer is the main key to fulfilling the nutritional needs of plants and environmental sustainability. The appropriate fertilizer dosage will increase the amount of nutrients absorbed by plants, especially tomato plants, and can enhance the optimization of growth and yield, as well as reduce soil damage. This study aims to determine the impact of the addition of NPK briquette fertilizer on plant nutrient absorption and tomato plant growth. This research was conducted at the Screen House of the Agricultural Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Tasikmalaya University of Struggle. Nutrient absorption analysis was conducted at the Soil Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Siliwangi University. This research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, including 1) Control / without the addition of NPK briquette fertilizer, 2) 4.5 g dose of NPK briquette, 3) 6 g dose of NPK briquette, and 4) 7.5 g dose of NPK briquette. The results showed that the application of NPK briquette fertilizer at doses of 4.5 and 7.5 g affected the fresh weight of the shoots, total plant fresh weight, total nitrogen content, and nitrogen uptake of the plant. Furthermore, the application of NPK briquette fertilizer on plant height, stem diameter, root wet weight, and crown dry weight did not have a significant effect.
