Abstract

The study aims to examine the quality of the items of school examination for grade IX in Mathematics Subject at SMPN 2 Unggulan Maros (a distinguished school) in academic year of 2021/2022 based on the content validity, internal criteria validity, difficulty level, discriminating power, distractor effectiveness, and reliability. The type of this study is descriptive quantitative research. The data collection technique employed documentation technique by citing the school examination result data of grade IX in Mathematics subject at SMPN 2 Unggulan Maros in academic year 2021/2022. The results of the study reveal that the content validity is valid based on the content validity measure; the validity of the internal criteria has one invalid out of 30 questions tested; the differentiating power is 40% which has very good discriminating power, 30% has good discriminatory power, 16% has poor discriminatory power, and 13% has worse discriminatory power; the level of difficulty has a disproportionate distribution of difficulty levels with a ratio of difficult: medium : easy are 7% : 30% : 63% respectively; the effectiveness of distractors generally has a functional distractor because out of 30 questions tested, there are 22 questions (73%) with effective distractor options and 8 items (27%) with ineffective distractor option; and the reliability os obtains the test reliability coefficient at 0.830 so the test instrument is confirmed as consistent.

Abstract

This type of research is descriptive research. This study aims to determine the understanding of concepts in solving three-dimensional geometry problems in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. Furthermore, selecting samples with Cluster Random Sampling technique. The selected sample in this study is class XI Accounting Department. From this sample, interviews will be continued with 9 students consisting of 3 students in the high category, 3 students in the medium category, and 3 students in the low category. The instruments in this study in the form of concept understanding tests and interview guidelines used to determine the understanding of concepts in solving three-dimensional geometry problems in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive statistical analysis with the aim of describing the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion that has been stated, the conclusion in this study is the understanding of concepts in solving geometry problems of three dimensions in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar is on the indicators: (1) Concept understanding on indicator I, namely giving examples and not examples of a concept by 91%, (2) Concept understanding on indicator II, namely presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation by 53%, and (3) Concept understanding on indicator III, namely applying concepts or algorithms in problem solving by 57%.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the use of various types of media in mathematics learning. This research will examine the effectiveness, benefits and challenges faced in implementing learning media in mathematics classes. Research subjects are individuals, groups, or objects that are the main focus in a study. There are four types of research found in this research, namely Research and Development (R&D), Classroom Action Research, Qualitative Research and Quantitative Research. Based on the description of the article in this research, it was found that students' perceptions of the use of media in mathematics learning were very good, as were the teachers'. However, the use of learning media is still relatively low for several articles. This is due to the lack of competency development and training for teachers. Therefore, it is hoped that teachers can follow the increasingly rapid development of technology and by using media they can attract and direct students' attention to concentrate on lessons.

Abstract

This study is a pre-experimental research involving one experimental class that aims to determine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model in learning mathematics in class XI SMA PGRI Kota Makassar. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all 11th grade students of PGRI Tamalate II High School in Makassar City in the second semester of the 2022/2023 school year, then determining the sample with the Simple Random Sampling technique so that the XI.A class students were selected as the research sample. The instrument used in this study was a learning outcome test to determine the completeness of learning outcomes. The data collection technique used is a learning outcome test given to students at the end of the subject matter. In this study, two statistical analysis techniques were used, namely descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that descriptively the mathematics learning outcomes achieved by XI grade students of SMA PGRI Tamalate II Kota Makassar after applying the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model were included in the high category with an average value of 82.91 and achieved classical completeness of 92%. Inferentially shows the sign value = 0.000 < α = 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, in other words, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model is effectively applied in learning mathematics in class XI SMA PGRI Kota Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning on the improvement of literacy skills among eighth-grade students at SMP PGRI, Maros Regency, in the Indonesian language subject. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research population consisted of all eighth-grade students, who were entirely included as the sample through a total sampling technique, totaling 32 students (17 females and 15 males). The research instrument was a literacy skills test administered before and after the AI-based learning intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, a paired sample t-test, and normalized gain (N-Gain) analysis. The results indicated a significant increase in students’ literacy scores from pretest to posttest. The normality test results confirmed that the data were normally distributed, thus meeting the assumptions for parametric analysis. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of p < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant effect of AI-based learning on students’ literacy skills. Furthermore, the N-Gain value fell within the moderate to high category, demonstrating the effectiveness of AI-based learning in optimizing the improvement of students’ literacy skills. It can be concluded that AI-based learning is effective in enhancing junior secondary school students’ literacy skills and has strong potential as an innovative instructional strategy to support educational transformation in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Deep Learning approach in digital learning on students’ mathematical literacy skills. The study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model. The research subjects consisted of all eighth-grade students of SMA PGRI Tamalate, totaling 30 students. The learning process was conducted in mathematics instruction by applying the Deep Learning approach integrated into digital learning. The research instrument was a mathematical literacy test administered before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The prerequisite analysis was conducted through a normality test, while hypothesis testing employed a paired sample t-test. The results indicated an improvement in students’ mathematical literacy skills from a low category in the pretest to a high category in the posttest. The paired sample t-test results revealed a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with a significance value of less than 0.05. The N-Gain value was classified as high, indicating that the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in digital learning was effective in improving students’ mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the digitalization of learning on improving the digital literacy of Grade X students in the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program at SMK Maros. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research population consisted of all Grade X TKJ students totaling 42 individuals, who were simultaneously used as the research sample through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a digital literacy test and observations of the learning process. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results indicate that the utilization of AI technology in digital learning has a significant effect on improving students’ digital literacy. This is evidenced by an increase in the mean digital literacy scores from the pretest to the posttest, as well as the results of the paired sample t-test, which showed a significance value of less than 0.05. In addition, observational findings revealed increased student engagement, participation, and positive attitudes during AI-based learning activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that AI-based digital learning is effective in enhancing students’ digital literacy and is relevant for implementation in schools to support students’ readiness in facing the challenges of the digital era.
