Abstract

ENGLISH: The Strategies for Developing the Concept of Multicultural Education in Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) and DiniyyahObjective: This study aims to examine the strategy of developing the concept of multicultural education in pesantren and diniyyah, focusing on understanding, tolerance, and respect for cultural and religious diversity among santri. Methods: This research was conducted in 2023 using a qualitative approach. The research subjects included pesantren managers, educators, and santri. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, and qualitative data analysis used a thematic approach to identify key themes and insights. Results: This study found that the development of multicultural education in pesantren and diniyyah has great potential for future progress. Conclusion: Multicultural education in pesantren and diniyyah can play an important role in building social cohesion, as it provides santri with the skills and perspectives needed to interact respectfully in a diverse society. Contribution: This research enriches the literature on multicultural education in Indonesia, particularly in pesantren and diniyyah, which have unique characteristics compared to other formal education systems.INDONESIA: Strategi Pengembangan Konsep Pendidikan Multikultural di Pesantren dan DiniyahTujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi pengembangan konsep pendidikan multikultural di pesantren dan diniyyah, dengan fokus pada pemahaman, toleransi, dan penghormatan terhadap keragaman budaya dan agama di kalangan santri. Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun 2023 dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian meliputi pengelola pesantren, pendidik, dan santri. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, dan analisis data kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema dan wawasan kunci. Hasil: Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pengembangan pendidikan multikultural di pesantren dan diniyyah memiliki potensi besar untuk kemajuan di masa depan. Kesimpulan: Pendidikan multikultural di pesantren dan diniyyah dapat memainkan peran penting dalam membangun kohesi sosial, karena memberikan santri keterampilan dan perspektif yang dibutuhkan untuk berinteraksi dengan hormat dalam masyarakat yang beragam. Kontribusi: Penelitian ini memperkaya literatur tentang pendidikan multikultural di Indonesia, khususnya dalam konteks pesantren dan diniyyah yang memiliki karakteristik unik dibandingkan dengan sistem pendidikan formal lainnya.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study explores the significance of adversity quotient (AQ) in education and provides strategies to develop AQ as a critical life skill for students. AQ refers to an individual’s ability to endure and overcome challenges by transforming their mindset and actions when confronted with adversity. The research focuses on understanding how AQ can shape student behavior and enhance academic and personal growth. Methodology: A qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach was employed in this study. Primary and secondary data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed to identify patterns and factors influencing AQ development in educational contexts. Main Findings: The study identifies seven key factors influencing AQ in students: competitiveness, creativity, risk-taking, self-improvement, perseverance, study habits, and adaptability. The findings also highlight a four-step process for improving AQ: (1) Listen—assess responses to adversity, (2) Explore—analyze the root causes and consequences of challenges, (3) Evaluate—examine evidence critically, and (4) Act—implement solutions proactively. The research underscores the importance of fostering AQ to help students navigate academic difficulties, enhance problem-solving skills, and build resilience in various contexts. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This study introduces a specialized educational model for developing students' adversity intelligence, integrating AQ with soft skills and entrepreneurial competencies. It provides insights into AQ’s role in academic performance, mental well-being, and life skills. Additionally, it investigates the relationship between AQ and entrepreneurial ability, positioning adversity intelligence as a cornerstone for holistic student development in modern education.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) has encouraged various learning innovations adapted to Generation Z characteristics; however, the alignment between digital pedagogy and the holistic goals of the IRE curriculum remains challenging. This study aims to analyze the relevance, pedagogical approaches, and alignment of digital Islamic pedagogy with the objectives of the IRE curriculum through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study employed PRISMA 2020 guidelines by reviewing articles indexed in Scopus and SINTA from 2021–2026. A total of 28 eligible articles were analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that digital Islamic pedagogy is still dominated by technology-based approaches focusing primarily on taklim or cognitive dimensions. Its alignment with the IRE curriculum tends to be partial, as affective and spiritual dimensions remain insufficiently accommodated. Therefore, the development of digital pedagogical designs integrating taklim, tarbiyah, and takdib holistically is urgently needed.
