Abstract

Ekosistem pesisir seperti mangrove, lamun dan terumbu karang akan mengalami kerusakan dapat diakibat oleh faktor abiotik dan gangguan akibat manusia (anropogenik). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, sebaran dan kondisi ekosistem di pulau panampeang Polewali Mandar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Desember 2018 pada Pulau Panampeang di Kecamatan Binuang Kabupaten Polewali Mandar Sulawesi Barat. Sampling Mangrove menggunakan plot berukuran 10 m x 10 m mempunyai Empat stasiun pengamatan dengan Tiga kali pengulangan setiap stasiun dengan jarak pengulangan 5 m. Sampling pengambilan data padang dengan estimasi penutupan lamun dilakukan dengan cara membentangkan transek garis sepanjang 100 m dan menempatkan kuadran 0,5 x 0,5 m2 dengan kisi-kisi pada interval jarak 20 meter. Transek ini dilakukan pada lokasi yang memiliki ekosistem padang lamun dan pengambilan data ekosistem terumbu karang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode RRA (Rapid Reef Assessment). Hasil penelitian jenis mangrove yang ditemukan pada pulau-pulau kecil Polewali Mandar yaitu Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia alba dan Sonneratia alba. Secara umum kondisi kerapatan mangrove sangat padat. Secara umum kondisi tutupan lamun baik dan secara umum kondisi penutupan karang hidup (live coral) rusak buruk

Abstract

Sebagai negara agraris, Indonesia kaya akan sumber daya alam yang dapat dikelola secara optimal utuk kepentingan bangsa. Indonesia merupakan negara yang kayaraya akan kelimpahan alamnya, memiliki upah tenaga kerja yang relatif murah dan memiliki pasar domestik yang besar. Keunggulan yang dimiliki tersebut barulah keunggulan komparatif, belum termasuk keunggulan kompetitif yang justru diperlukan dalam persaingan global. Dalam eraglobalisasi, keunggulanyang harus dimiliki adalah keunggulan kompetitif, yang lahir dari para pengusaha yang inovatif, bukannya dari keunggulan komparatif yang nilai tambahnya kecil. Program KKN- PPM dirancang dan dilakukan dengan menerapkan prinsip keseimbangan lingkungan dan ekonomi berbasis ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni (IPTEKS). Prinsip ini mencakup pembinaan hubungan dengan pemangku kepentingan dan selalu melibatkan kemitraan tiga pemangku kepentingan, yaitu pihak Universitas Hasanuddin, masyarakat dan pemerintah. Berdasarkan uraian permasalahan yang telah disepakati kegiatan KKN-PPM dirancang dengan beberapa program, yaitu Program pendidikan Sekolah Pesisir; Pembelajaran dan Sosialisasi Pentingnya Menjaga Ekosistem Pesisir; Perpustakaan Bahari; Pelatihan diversifikasi Pengolahan hasil perikanan; Pelatihan Kerajinan Tangan dan Cenderamata berbahan baku lokal; Program rehabilitasi dan pelestarian terumbu karang dengan transplantasi karang; Aksi Bersih Pantai, Pesisir dan Pulau. Program kerja tersebut dilaksanakan melalui kemitraan dengan masyarakat dan Pemerintah Desa Pulau Salemo Desa Mattiro Bombang dan Pemerintah Kecamatan Liukang Tupabbiring Kabupaten Pangkajene Kepulauan Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem is one of the key ecosystems on the coast which is an indicator of the environmental health of a coastal area. The coast of Makassar City is experiencing very rapid structural development marked by reclamation. This condition causes the existence of the mangrove ecosystem on the coast of Makassar City to be increasingly threatened. This study aims to determine the condition of the type and distribution of mangroves in the Barombong sub-district of Tamalatea, Makassar. The research was conducted from March to May 2023 in Tamalatea coastal area, Makassar. This research is an exploratory study conducted by survey method. The results of the study obtained four types of true mangroves and seven types of associated plants. The results obtained Rhizophora mucronata species have the highest value on the relative frequency index, relative dominance, relative density, and important value index.

Abstract

The presence of marine debris in the waters can change the quality of the waters, which is caused by anthropogenic activities. This marine debris is a persistent solid material, which is intentionally or unintentionally thrown away and left in the marine environment. This research aims to determine the type and density of marine debris. The research was carried out in August 2022 at Melon Beach, Selayar Regency. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach by conducting field surveys. Data analysis uses descriptive techniques to classify the types of marine waste collected and calculate the density and mass of the waste. The research results showed that there were 27 types of macro waste and 5 types of micro waste. The density of plastic waste ranged from 3-6 items/m2, whereas in this study the density of plastic waste ranged from 0.0001-0.008 items/m2.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are a distinctive type of forest found along the coast or river estuaries. This research was conducted in October 2023 on the coast of Bonto Bahari Village, Bontoa District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Data collection includes preparation of tools and materials to be used at the research site. Data collection of mangrove ecosystems using line transects along 100 meters then draw transect lines perpendicular to the shoreline. Furthermore, placing a quadrant plot measuring 10 meters x 10 meters at three observation stations and three repetitions of each station. To determine the category of mangrove conditions based on the Minister of Environment Decree No. 201 of 2004, the identification of mangrove species using mangrove introduction guidebook. The measurement of environmental conditions directly measured at the study site includes parameters of temperature, salinity, soil pH taken at each observation station, as well as taking sediment at each station for the measurement of Total Organic Matter (BOT) tested in the laboratory, BOT analysis was performed using the method of burning with high temperature (550oC) (loss on ignition) for 2 hours. Based on the results of the study found 4 types of mangroves namely Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, and Rhizophora apiculata. Avicennia alba mangrove has the highest density value compared to other mangrove species. The substrate found at each station is medium sediment (medium sand). The results of PCA analysis showed that mangroves in the study site were influenced by salinity, temperature, and sediment pH. Mangrove density is more influenced by the total organic matter (BOT) content of sediments.

Abstract

Anthropogenic activities that are often carried out by humans can affect the survival of mangrove, seagrass and coral reef ecosystems in an area. This research aims to determine the species, distribution and condition of the ecosystem on Karamassang Polewali Mandar Island. This research was carried out from April to December 2020 on Karamassang Island in Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi. Mangrove sampling uses a plot measuring 10 m x 10 m with four observation stations with three repetitions of each station with a repetition distance of 5 m. Data collection on seagrass beds with estimates of seagrass cover was carried out by stretching a line transect along 100 m and placing 0.5 x 0.5 m2 quadrants with grids at 20 meters intervals. This transect was carried out at a location that has a seagrass ecosystem and coral reef ecosystem data was collected using the RRA (Rapid Reef Assessment) method. The results of research on the types of mangroves obtained on Karamassang Island were Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia alba, and Sonneratia alba. In general, the density of mangroves is very dense. In general, seagrass cover is in the good category. In general, the condition of live coral cover is in poor condition.

Abstract

Wilayah pesisir dan laut merupakan kawasan yang menyediakan sumber daya alam bagi kehidupan manusia. Semakin tingginya kebutuhan manusia tahun ke tahun menyebabkan beberapa wilayah telah mengalami penurunan kualitas sumber daya alam akibat eksploitasi yang berlebihan. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2023 pada Pulau Karamassang di Kecamatan Binuang Kabupaten Polewali Mandar Sulawesi Barat. Pengambilan data padang lamun dengan estimasi penutupan lamun dilakukan dengan cara membentangkan transek garis sepanjang 100 m dan menempatkan kuadran 0,5 x 0,5 m2 dengan kisi-kisi pada interval jarak 20 meter. Transek ini dilakukan pada lokasi yang memiliki ekosistem padang lamun dan pengambilan data ekosistem terumbu karang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode RRA (Rapid Reef Assessment). Pengambilan data kualitas air meliputi suhu, salinitas dan pH (derajat keasaman). Secara umum kondisi tutupan ekosistem lamun masuk kategori baik/sehat, jenis lamun yang ditemukan pada lokasi penelitian yaitu, Enhalus acoroides, Cymodocea serrulata, Thalassia hemprichii. Secara umum kondisi tutupan ekosistem terumbu karang masuk kategori rusak sedang dengan kondisi DCA (death coral algae) dan tidak ditemukan mangrove pada lokasi penelitian.
