<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui cara mengadaptasikan struktur Sonata ke dalam komposisi musik Gitar Elektrik dengan gaya musik Rock Progresif. Proses pembuatan komposisi musik "Memories” dilakukan dengan menentukan judul karya, observasi karya, perancangan konsep, dan mengobservasi tangga nada serta instrumen untuk menentukan tema pada setiap bagian struktur Sonata dalam format gitar solo, combo band dan string section yang akan digunakan dalam komposisi musik "Memories”. Hasil akhir dari karya ini adalah komposisi musik 1 movement dengan tema pada masing-masing bagian Eksposisi, Developmen, dan Rekapitulasi serta penggunaan ritmik untuk menunjukkan karakteristik dari gaya musik Rock Progresif. Harapannya karya ini dapat menginspirasi komposer muda yang tertarik dengan musik absolut yang merupakan musik bebas tanpa terikat oleh suatu cerita, tokoh atau peristiwa apapun.Kata kunci: Sonata, rock progresif, musik absolut, tema This study intends to find out how to adapt the Sonata structure to the composition of Electric Guitar with Progressive Rock music style. The process of making the musical composition "Memories" is done by determining the title of the work, observing the work, designing the concept, and observing the scales and instruments to determine the theme for each part of the Sonata structure in the format of solo guitar, combo band and string section which will be used in the musical composition " Memories”. The end result of this work is a 1 movement musical composition with the theme in each section of Exposition, Development, and Recapitulation as well as the use of rhythmic to show the characteristics of the Progressive Rock music style. It is hoped that this work can inspire young composers who are interested in absolute music which is free music without being bound by any story, character or event.
