Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Internet use is increasing every year, most of the reason is finding information (80.1%). Along with this, misinformation is circulating, including health information, so digital literacy is needed, especially for teenagers or Generation Z who are technology savvy. This activity aims to increase teenagers' digital literacy and help them search for appropriate health information through search engines. This Community Service is carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method with direct face-to-face presentation of material and practice on the given topic. Participants were 43 high school/equivalent level students aged 15-19 years. Most participants were 16 years old (46.51%) and female (88.37%). The average knowledge of participants regarding appropriate health information in the pre-test was 60.21, and the post-test was 88.65. A total of 40 out of 43 participants experienced an increase in scores (93.02%) after lectures and practice. This activity concluded that participants' knowledge and skills increased regarding using search engines to manage appropriate health information.

Abstract

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by deep feelings of sadness and indifference The symptoms of depression in adolescents are often characterized by feelings of irritability, distress, fear, lacklusterness, sadness, conflicts with friends, and conflicts with family. The highest incidence of depression was in the Southeast Asian region of 86.94 (27%) out of 322 billion individuals. Indonesia itself is in fifth place with a depression incidence rate of (3.7%). This study aims to determine the profile of drug use in outpatient depression patients at Karuna Pharmacy for the period January-April 2022. This research is a descriptive research that uses a cross-sectional research design with a retrospective approach and is processed qualitatively. The results of a study of 110 patients who entered the inclusion criteria, namely the use of antidepressants, namely selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) class drugs with a combination of psychotropic group drugs with a total of 53 (48.18%) people

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors that influence people's interest in the Covid-19 vaccine in Manggissari Village, Pekutatan District. This type of research is a quantitative study using the Cross-Sectional method. The sampling technique in this study was Simple Random Sampling, the total sample population was 237 in Manggissari Village, Pekutatan District. The results obtained from the frequency distribution show that from a total sample of 237 it can be seen that as many as 23.2% of the respondents who have not been vaccinated, not yet fully vaccinated (27.4%) and have had complete vaccines (49.4%), the community still has mostly low knowledge (49.8%), lack of information about the covid-19 vaccine (15.6%), lack of support from family (49.4%) and the influence of the community environment mostly (46.4%) . Based on the research above, there are factors that influence public interest in the Covid-19 vaccine. This research is expected to increase high awareness of carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

Traditional Usadha-based herbal lactagogues, such as Erythrina subumbrans and Kaempferia galanga, are used by lactating mothers; however, their delivery in practical, standardized forms is limited. This study aimed to formulate a nanoemulgel transdermal patch containing E. subumbrans extract and K. galanga extract, evaluate its physicochemical properties, and assess its safety for skin irritation as a potential herbal lactagogue. Extracts of E. subumbrans and K. galanga were added to the nanoemulsion base. The nanoemulsions were incorporated into HPMC/PVP-based transdermal patch matrices by solvent casting. The resulting patches were evaluated for physicochemical properties and tested for skin irritation. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, saponins, and alkaloids in both extracts. The total flavonoid contents were 47.44 mg QE/g for E. subumbrans and 36.79 mg QE/g for K. galanga. The nanoemulsion exhibited greater than 90% transmittance, mean droplet size of 7.79 nm, and polydispersity index (PDI) of 0.193. The patches met acceptable physical criteria, including a thickness of 0.20 mm, weight variation with %CV less than 10%, and folding endurance over 300. pH values ranged from 6.00 to 6.58. In a human patch test, no erythema or edema was observed; only mild pruritus (mean = 0.2) was reported in two participants. The formulated nanoemulgel transdermal patches demonstrated favorable physicochemical properties and were non-irritating. These patches show potential as a herbal lactagogue delivery system; further studies on lactation  efficacy and long-term stability are recommended.
