Abstract

This research is theoretical research with a literature study that examines methods to maintain characteristics of electrons when moving in a quantum system at the potential barrier. Attempts to maintain the characteristics of electrons in quantum systems are known as adiabatic. The method used in this research is the fast-forward method. This method was first introduced by Masuda and Nakamura in 2010. The fast-forward method is applied to barrier potential in case of electron energy larger and smaller than the potential barrier. This research focuses on preserving the characteristics of electrons by determining the regularization phase and additional potential of the quantum system at the barrier potential. The wave function solution of the system at the potential barrier is approximated by the Schrödinger equation into three regions for each case. The wave function of each region is regularized to be an adiabatic wave function and an additional term in the form of regularization phase (θ) is obtained. Given the regularized Hamiltonian, the additional potential (Ṽ) is obtained. The obtained regularization phase and additional potential ensure the quantum system at the potential barrier is in the same state from the initial state to the final state

Abstract

Background: Innovative learning media are needed to address students’ difficulties in understanding abstract physics concepts, particularly Particle Motion Dynamics, especially in schools with limited laboratory facilities.Aims: This study aimed to develop Virtual Reality (VR) learning media based on 360° videos using the Kuula platform supported by a digital flipbook and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving senior high school students’ conceptual understanding. Methods: This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model. The effectiveness of the product was tested using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 40 Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City. The product was validated by two physics lecturers and one physics teacher. Data were collected using validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a conceptual understanding test. Data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk test for normality, followed by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to determine differences between pretest and posttest scores. Effect size was also calculated to measure the magnitude of the treatment effect. Results: Expert validation showed an average feasibility score of 97, categorized as “very feasible”. Students’ responses were highly positive, with a score of 97 (“very good”). The N-Gain analysis indicated a significant improvement in conceptual understanding, with the average score increasing from 29 (pretest) to 93 (posttest), categorized as high improvement. Conclusion: The Kuula platform–based VR learning media supported by a digital flipbook was valid, received positive responses from students, and effectively improved students’ conceptual understanding of Particle Motion Dynamics. Therefore, it is feasible to be used as an alternative medium for physics learning.

Abstract

Background: Physics learning, particularly in Kinematics material, often faces constraints due to the abstract nature of its concepts and limited laboratory facilities in schools. This potentially reduces students' conceptual understanding and learning engagement.Aims: To develop 360° video-based VR learning media utilizing the Kuula platform assisted by Google Classroom, and to analyze its feasibility, usefulness and efficiency in enhancing the conceptual understanding of Kinematics among Grade X students in their senior year of high school. Methods: This study employed the ADDIE paradigm (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) in conjunction with the Research and Development (R&D) technique. Techniques for gathering data included (1) expert validation sheets assessed by 2 physics lecturers and 1 physics teacher, (2) practicality response questionnaires filled out by 36 students, and (3) a conceptual understanding test in the form of pre-test and post-test. The test data were then analyzed by calculating the normalized N-Gain score to determine the effectiveness of the developed product. Results: Expert validation results showed a percentage of 89% (highly feasible category). Student responses regarding the practicality of the media obtained an average of 86% (very good). An N-Gain score of 85% indicated an improvement in conceptual understanding classified as "High".Conclusion: VR learning materials built on the Kuula platform and supported by Google Classroom have demonstrated viability, usefulness, and efficacy as a cutting-edge substitute for kinematics instruction, and they may be an option for educational institutions with inadequate lab space.

Abstract

Background of Study: The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in physics learning in Indonesia is still relatively new and requires further implementation regarding its effectiveness, so that it becomes a challenge in itself, especially in understanding abstract concepts and materials.Aims and scope of paper: The Chatbots and AI Visualizations training at SMAN 6 Central Bengkulu aims to improve students' skills and knowledge in utilizing modern technology to deepen their understanding of physics concepts. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach through pre-test and post-test of 41 students in grades X and XI, with instruments in the form of multiple-choice questions to measure basic understanding of AI, ability to write prompts, understanding and visualization skills on physics concepts, and understanding the ethics of using AI in learning activities. Results: The results showed high enthusiasm and interest in AI-based learning, with all respondents expressing interest in this technology. After the training, there were improvements in the understanding of physics concepts through AI, the ability to write prompts, understanding and visualization skills using AI, and ethical knowledge in the use of AI in learning. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the integration of AI in physics learning not only increases the effectiveness and interactivity of the learning process, but also equips students with relevant 21st century competencies in the digital era.
