Abstract

This study analyzes the supervision management of zakat distribution at the National Zakat Board (BAZNAS) of Binjai City. The research is motivated by the limited studies examining the integration of sharia supervision, mustahik verification, and information technology utilization in local-level zakat distribution management. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that BAZNAS Binjai implements supervision through sharia audits, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and the BAZNAS Management Information System (SIMBA). However, the effectiveness of supervision is constrained by limited human resources, inaccuracies in mustahik data, and inadequate technological infrastructure. To address these challenges, BAZNAS applies layered verification mechanisms, strengthens cross-sector collaboration, and enhances staff capacity. This study contributes to the literature on zakat governance by highlighting the importance of an integrated supervision system in improving transparency, accountability, and the accuracy of zakat distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of da'wah strategies in the mental recovery of online gambling victims at the Khalid bin Walid Islamic Rehabilitation Institute in Medan, focusing on the application of strategies, rehabilitation programs, and their impact on participants' mental and behavioral changes. Unlike previous studies that largely discussed drug rehabilitation, this research offers a da'wah-based rehabilitation model that integrates spiritual guidance, psychological counseling, and character building as a holistic approach to recovering online gambling victims. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving ustadz, coaches, and rehabilitation participants. The results show that da'wah strategies are implemented through daily worship habituation, Islamic studies, personal mentoring, and continuous supervision. The mental recovery program is carried out in stages through adaptation, worship guidance, addiction counseling, group therapy, and family relationship development. The implementation of this strategy has proven to increase spiritual awareness, self-control, discipline, and encourage positive behavioral changes among participants. Thus, da'wah-based rehabilitation with an integrative approach is effective in supporting the mental recovery of online gambling victims and can serve as an alternative model in addressing behavioral addiction in the digital era

Abstract

Da'wah planning is one of the functions of da'wah management that plays a role in planning, implementing, and evaluating da'wah activities so that the goals of fostering can be achieved effectively. This study aims to analyze the application of da'wah planning in shaping the religious character of children at the Muhammadiyah Men's Orphanage in Medan. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that da'wah planning is implemented through the stages of planning, program preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The fostering program includes tahsin, tahfidz, recitation of the Koran, kultum (sermons), adhan (call to prayer), and congregational prayer which are arranged according to the needs of the foster children. The implementation of activities is supported by the active role of the administrators, caregivers, and the religious environment of the orphanage, while obstacles faced come from differences in character, background, and psychological condition of the children. This study shows that da'wah planning has a positive impact on the formation of children's religious character, which is seen from increased discipline in worship, the ability to read the Qur'an, responsibility, independence, and self-confidence. Thus, da'wah planning is a crucial factor in fostering the religious character of children in orphanages
