Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to examine the effect of interaction between Kascing and Herbafarm fertilizers on cabbage growth and yield. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the application of kascing fertilizer (K) which consisted of 4 levels. The second factor was fertilization of Herbafarm (H) which consisted of 4 levels, so that this experiment had 16 treatment combinations. The parameters observed were the age of crop formation (days), crop diameter (cm), fresh weight of the crop (grams), and the number of leaves that not formed a crop (strands). The results showed that interaction of kascing fertilizer and Herbafarm was significantly affected on the crop diameter and fresh weight of cabbage crop heads. The best treatment was 1.8 kg of kascing fertilizer per plot and 75 ml of Herbafarm concentration per plant (K3H3). The main significant effect of kascing was found on the age of crop formation, crop diameter, fresh crop weight and number of leaves that not formed crop. The main significant effect of Herbafarm was found on the age of crop formation, crop diameter, fresh crop weight and number of leaves that not formed crop. The best treatment was 75 ml herbafarm per plant. Keywords: Kascing and Herbafarm fertilizers, Growth, Yield, Cabbage

Abstract

ABSTRACT Genes expression information involved in Pandanus sp. adaptation in Kajuik Lake sp. to environmental stress is unknown. The genes expression analysis requires the internal control gene such as actin. Actin gene is one of the genes that can be expressed continuously at all stages of plant development. Before obtaining genetic information, it is necessary to isolate and amplify DNA. The purpose of this study was to determine the annealing temperature for actin gene amplification in Pandan (Pandanus sp.). The DNA amplification uses two primer pairs with 20 annealing temperatures. The annealing temperatures were calculated based on the mean values of Tm which were then reduced and added with 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. The annealing temperature of 53.4 ºC (Tm +1) yielded single thick clear using. The annealing temperature of 53.4 ºC (Tm +1) using P_act_F / P_act_R1 primer pair yielded single, thick and firm DNA band. It was concluded that the annealing temperature for actinin gene amplification in Pandanussp was 53.4 ºC with primer P_act_F / P_act_R1. Keywords: Actin gene, Annealing temperatures, PCR

Abstract

Matoa fruit is one of the original Indonesian fruits from Papua. Matoa fruit is very popular for its delicious taste and unique fruit aromas such as durian and rambutan. many matoa plants can be found in Pekanbaru with age of 13, so it is necessary to conduct a research on the matoa fruit. The purpose of this study was to determine the maximum weight of fresh fruit and total dissolved solids in red matoa based on the age of fruit collection. The study was conducted with a descriptive analysis. Thirteen year old red matoa plants were studied at Purwo Farm Gardens, Jalan Sri Kurnia, Palas, Agrowisata Village, Rumbai District, Riau. The study was conducted during 4 months from April to July 2020. The results showed the maximum fresh weight of red matoa fruits at the age of fruit collection of 56 days after pollination (DAP). Total dissolved solids (TDS) in red matoa fruit was 56 DAP.
