Abstract

Latar Belakang: Karies merupakan penyakit gigi dan mulut yang banyak diderita oleh penduduk Indonesia, denganberbagai cara pemeriksaan pengukuran karies ICDAS dapat diukur lesi email awal non kavitas dan Indeks DMF-Tsering digunakan untuk mendeteksi karies dari lesi dentin. Tujuan penggunaan pengukuran keparahan kariesberdasarkan Indeks DMF-T dan Internasional Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS). Metode : Jenis penelitianini adalah Literature review, data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder dari pengamatan langsung, akan tetapidari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh penelitian terdahulu. Hasil: Pemeriksaan ICDAS mempunyai 7 scoredinilai dari 0-6 sebelum terjadinya kavitas sedangkan Indeks DMF-T mempunyai 3 kategori yang mana menilai darisesudah terjadinya kavitas. Kesimpulan: Internasional Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) dapatmendeteksi karies lebih dini untuk pengunaan membutuhkan waktu sangat lama dan DMF-T mendeteksi karies dengansesudah terjadi karies Kata Kunci : Perbandingan, ICDAS, DMF-T

Abstract

Background: Dental caries is an infectious disease characterized by tooth decay or tooth decay. The main cause of dental caries is the bacterium Streptococcus mutans. Elementary school children aged 6-12 years are a group that is prone to caries due to deep pits and fissures on their permanent teeth. One of the most effective caries prevention efforts is the topical application of fluoride. Topical fluoridation is highly recommended for newly erupted children's teeth to strengthen the enamel layer and inhibit the demineralization process. Methods: Solving problems using methods including; counseling, tooth brushing together, and topical application of flour. Results: Students who participated in this activity consisted of 49% of students and 51% of elementary school students. The activity started with counseling about carien, brushing teeth together and finally giving Flour Topical Application. Conclusion: All students who met the dental health requirements were successfully given the Topical Flour Application

Abstract

Community Dentistry has a role to play in improving understanding and quality community dental with oral health through counseling and community dentistry services. Community dentistry services are services where operators must be able to recognize signs and symptoms of the possibility that patients are suffering from systemic diseases that can affect oral hygiene conditions. The aim of this writing is to report scientifically on community dentistry services based on the results of an assessment of health problems in the family. The respondent in this Community Dentistry activity was one of the residents assisted by RW 3, consisting of: mother IH, aged 46 years and brother NA, aged 12 years. Results and discussion: the dental health of the inmates, the condition of the patient's teeth and mouth was in poor condition where the results of the examination were poor OHI, there was bleeding on the gingiva, remaining roots, caries, and loss of several teeth due to caries. The results of Community Dentistry activities in assisted families, Mrs. IH had moderate oral hygiene with an OHI score of 6 before being given curative services in the form of scaling and root planing (SRP), after SRP was carried out, oral hygiene was good with an OHI score of 1.7. This means that there is a decrease in the OHI score after being given curative efforts in the form of SRP. Conclusion: Community dental services begin by preparing an intervention plan based on the results of an assessment of health problems in the family and will provide good intervention results and feedback to the patient's family who cooperate in following input and suggestions by the dentist and other health workers.
